In today's Daily Mirror we asked: Which star received angry glares from Simon Cowell and co as she kept indiscreetly disappearing off to the loos to "powder her nose"? Then later she heckled during the speeches...
Your extra clue: But she's normally so quiet.
Victoria Beckham.
ReplyDeleteif this took place at simons birthday bash it can't be victoria beckham, i read on the daily mail website that she was not there. so this might be trickier than it appears!
ReplyDeleteSusan Boyle.
ReplyDeleteBjork - song "Oh So Quiet".
ReplyDelete@littleoleme: my thoughts exactly! but i don't think she's really on Si's guest list. Didn't someone cover it recently? Possibly Solange Knowles . . .
ReplyDeleteSolange Knowles was not at Simon's party. That girl can't even get a regular invite let alone to Simon's partay
ReplyDeletePrincess - I didn't read that this was a S.C. party but an event with speeches.
ReplyDelete@littleoleme: Sorry, my bad. I just assumed it was one of the many, many media events he controls/produces, which was the reference to the 'guest list'.
ReplyDeleteThis is from daily star about SC's birthday bash
ReplyDeleteTHE GUESTS
Expect one of the starriest guest lists ever. Those set to attend include Piers Morgan, 44, Kylie Minogue, 41, Amanda Holden, 38, and supermodel Kate Moss, 35.
X Factor judges such as Cheryl Cole, 26, and Dannii Minogue, 37, and previous winners like Leon Jackson, 20, have also been invited.
And dusting off their dinner jackets will be Simon’s long-term friends including pop icon Sir Elton John, 62, his partner David Furnish, 46, and movie legend Michael Winner, 73.
Many of Britain’s top businessmen will be there, such as Daily Star owner Richard Desmond and Topshop chief Sir Philip Green.
Two or three other special guests include children from the Chase hospice in Guildford, Surrey, of which Simon is a great supporter.
They will be picked up and given the full VIP treatment for the night.
also this is from TimesLive
ReplyDeleteSpecial birthday messages from some of Simon's famous friends, including David and Victoria Beckham and Jennifer Aniston, were screened inside the house - with TVs even showing them in the toilets.
Others people present included Sharon Osbourne, David Hasselhoff, Katie Price, Paula Abdul, Piers Morgan, Randy Jackson, Kelly Brook, Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber and Olivia Newton-John, as well as several contestants from the reality TV shows Simon judges such as 'Britain's Got Talent' winner Paul Potts and 'The X Factor' winner Shayne Ward.
so there were people presenting and Victoria beckham was there
wait they just sent a message were not there
ReplyDelete- so nix vicki
i had bjork as well.
ReplyDeletesecond to kate moss, she comes off shy but i heard she turns into a brawling hellcat with a bit of booze in her.
Kate Moss was my first guess. Can't remember where I read it this morning, but it said the Beckhams weren't there, taped a message. Also that Moss & her BF Jamie Hince got into a fight at the party, people around them broke it up & they were fine at the end of the night. I think some guy in a thong picked her up & ran around the party, BF got pissed & started to yell at her - which is stupid. Last person to leave was unidentified & buck naked man, it wasn't pretty.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a kick ass party!
Hey Princess, my apologies to you. I am thrilled to say that I had no idea it was his birthday or that he was throwing himself a party (who throws themsleves a party??).
ReplyDeleteThat guest list is quite random. And one final thought
"with TVs even showing them in the toilets." Do newspapers not know proper grammar? I'm sure they meant "even showing them on the TVs that were placed in the toilets (washrooms)."
i read that there were photos of him in the bathroom and it was for his 50th birthday which cost over $1 million dollars.
ReplyDeleteMaybe the quiet reference has to do with one of the judges on x factor not making too many comments?
Cherly Cole perhaps?
also the guest of honor was his mother not him - i guess for bearing him from her womb
whats really weird is that all three of his ex girlfriends showed up so actually maybe the so quiet reference is in regards to his breakup with Terri Seymour?
although she is not really a star.
What about Paula - she was there? although it seems like she is on downers rather than uppers
Another vote for Bjork-- littleoleme nailed it.
ReplyDeletebjork did not attend- so how could she have been the one
ReplyDeleteI'm going to go against the grain and guess Naomi Campbell. There's a picture on the Project Rungay site of her at the party, and the "But she's normally so quiet" could be read as sarcasm too.
ReplyDeletewhat about like i said earlier Cheryl Cole ----- girls aloud - opposite of quiet and that would go with the sarcasm
ReplyDeleteNo reports of who heckled during the speeches?
ReplyDeletelittleoleme, this is a UK newspaper, and as I recall, "toilet" is often used as a synonym for bathroom in the UK. So it's not grammatically incorrect, just a britishism.
ReplyDeleteOlivia Newton John. Total cokehead. LOL
ReplyDeletei know susan boyle was also not there, cheryl cole was seated next to simon all night so i doubt it was her, kate moss was drunk off her ass and falling over all night. my best guess is naomi campbell because even though she has a temper, she is usually very quiet around 'normal' folks at least.
ReplyDeleteheres a link to the story that tells all about the guests and what went on at the party.
ReplyDeleteJust a suggestion guys - last night was the Pride of Britain awards. Loads of british celebs attended including Simon Cowell.
ReplyDeleteI figure if it was one of the judges on one of his shows he might get pretty pissed off, especially considering the event is for such a great cause.
Just done a quick check and it looks as though Sharon Osborne, Danni Minogue, Cheryl Cole and Amanda Holden all attended.
Also Alexandra Burke was there, his latest pop star...
Thoughts?
Please don't let it be the absolutely stunningly beautiful Cheryl Cole. I would be devastated.
ReplyDeleteIf it's Danni Minogue my answer would be: Meh!
Valerie - my point was not in regards to the word toilet being used (i'm canadian, it's not confusing to me) but to the sentence structure.
ReplyDeleteNewspaper
"with TVs even showing them in the toilets" makes it sounds like the poeple on the video were actually in the toilet bowl or in the bathroom. The way I wrote it clarified, I hope, that the video was shown everywhere including on screens in the bathroom.
julie andrews.
ReplyDeleteheh.
i love julie andrews. being known for her bawdy sense of humor, it would be hysterical if she heckled that flea simon during a speech!!
I had Bjork for this, too, but I think it was Kate Moss. The Extra Clue being obvious sarcasm.
