Balloon Boy Busts His Parents

The parents who were on the show Wife Swap twice have some explaining to do after their 6 year old balloon boy son said on Larry King last night, "You guys said we did this for the show." Ahh, six year old honesty. Now even if the parents were telling the truth and I am really starting to doubt it, no one will believe them.

What should have been a great feel good story looks more and more like a family that wanted their own reality show after getting a taste of fame on Wife Swap and being in the local news a few times. After the boy said that, Wolf Blitzer chose to ignore it and move on to another question. How can you ask a question and then get an answer and not listen to it for a follow-up? How is that possible?

  1. Because reporters are no longer reporters they are softball players.

  2. you answered your own question: WOLF BLITZER. he only asks the "tough questions" when it serves his corporate masters. If you have ever seen him on the situation room, he very rarely questions the BS that is fed to him.

  3. wow. the father's good, pauses, doesn't discount the kid's answer, doesn't acknowledge it either, just moves thru it. practiced liar.

  5. I’m happy the child is safe…but I can’t say I’m not disappointed in the news media that has evolved in the US …it seems as long as they can grab a demographic of viewers ANYTHING can be considered news ….no fact checking, no investigation, just pretty people on the TV moving their mouths…

  6. After watching Woff Blitzer on Celebrity Jeopardy, he doesn't seem like the sharpest tool in the shed.

When I saw the video here that Enty had provided us I thought something fishy was going on.

  12. It could have been worse...Larry King could have been asking the questions. He hasn't asked a difficult question in 40 years.

  13. Wolf is an idiot.

    The father is an idiot.

It is very strange that the boy seemed perfectly fine here -- not racked with overwhelming guilt -- and later he was barfing. His parents probably reamed him out for what he said. I only hope they didn't do something awful like give him spoiled food to shut him up during the next interview.

Poor kid. He's only 6. You can't ask a 6-year-old to lie and help you pull off a hoax. They're not mentally capable of knowing what to say and what not to say. When his parents asked him why he hid, he was clearly debating whether he was supposed to give an honest answer. And, being 6, he probably didn't want to get in trouble, so he told the truth.

  14. Yeah, it was just heart breaking to watch him trying to please his parents - "but you said..." SO, so sad.

  18. The father also has a video on You Tube asking for proof that Hillary Clinton is a reptilian, so he is either a fame whore or a nut job.

  19. Holy shit, if this is true, then that Dad seriously needs to be charged with a crime.

  20. The family needs billed for this hoax. There is no way that the taxpayers should have to foot the bills for the helicopter and manpower.

I really love that Daddy's first phone call was supposedly the Channel 9 News and then FAA. The FAA supposedly were ones to call 911. What a Shitheel of a father.

This guy is total nut job.
They had a clip of him from "Wife Swap" and he went crazy on his swapped wife, saying she was too controlling. Meanwhile, methinks his real wife is very meek; on an interview when the kid was throwing up they were told to take care of the kid and the mother asked "may I"? He's a nut job tyrant. No wonder the kid hid from him...

  22. The father didn't know where to put himself after the kid outed them. He stumbles over his phrases. He def needs to pay for this.

  23. Yesterday as soon as the news about them being on "Wife Swap" hit the newspaper blog sites, the call "Fraud!!" was pretty much universally shouted. I was still willing to give them the benefit of the doubt as the child was still unfound and I had visions of this tiny 6 year old plummeting to his death from 10,000 feet terrified and screaming for his Mommy.

Then when I turned on CNN just prior to the finding of the child hiding .. the chick who does the I-reports stuff said that 'the family" had submitted numerous I-stories about weather as Daddy is a wannabe stormchaser. Bells started ringing in my head .. but I could still clearly see the child falling and thought myself a horrible person to even question.

Then the child was found "hiding" and I started thinking there is more to this story than meets the eye. Then this all came out and I - too - was screaming FRAUD!!!!!

I am calling this a case of Gosselinitis .. sadly - for ALL of us - it is a disease with no know cure!
