Today's Blind Items
This former B list movie actor with A list name recognition who now goes from tv show to tv show on a fairly regular basis was leaving for work the other day when he ran over his neighbor's cat with his car and killed it. The neighbor saw the entire incident and screamed. Our actor stopped the car and took a look at what happened and said, "I don't have time for this right now. I have to get to work. We can talk about it tonight when I get home." He has yet to talk to the neighbor or say he was sorry.
Bastard!
ReplyDeleteBut really, cats live longer if they're kept indoors.
Would this be Charlie Sheen?
ReplyDeleteChristian Slater?
ReplyDeleteMaybe... Alec Baldwin??
ReplyDeleteDavid Spade?
ReplyDeleteThis BI must be revealed.
ReplyDeleteMay the cretin and his career get rolled over by the big Karma wheel.
I thought Alec Baldwin too but does he "go from tv show to tv show"?
ReplyDeleteJames Woods?
ReplyDeleteCharlie Sheen was my first thought as well. The only other guess I have is Jim Belushi. I hope it's not him.
ReplyDeleteI hope this guy diatf
ReplyDeleteMy cat is on a leash when he's outside. That way he isn't bothering my neighbours and I know he's safe. Why should my neighbours have to put up with my cat?
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, when something like this happens, one should at least have the courtesy to say sorry.

ReplyDeleteMoves from show to show, seems to imply a lot of guest roles. All those people have their shows. The only show hopper that occurs to me is Joel Grey.
ReplyDeleteAlec doesn't jump from TV show to TV show. Neither does Charlie Sheen. It sounds like this is someone who does guest appearances and doesn't have a spot as a regular on the show.
ReplyDeletePoor kitty and poor owner :(
ReplyDeleteTed McGinley?
ReplyDelete(I jest.)
Screw that, she should of had her cat in-doors. Do you know how much damage house cats do to, say, the song bird population. Not to mention spraying, fighting outside my window at night all the time(not my cats) and leaving prints and scratches on my car. Oh, and the nice surprise you find while gardening around the few plants they haven't destroyed.
ReplyDeleteI have 2 cats, bottle fed and agoraphobic.
I like the David Spade guess because he's done alot of shows.
ReplyDeleteWilliam Shatner.
ReplyDeleteChristian Slater could fit (jumping around: West Wing, Own Worst Enemy and now The Forgotten) or Chris O'Donnell (Grey's Anatomy, Head Cases, Two and Half Men, The Practice, and now NCIS LA)
ReplyDeleteSomeone should run over him. What a prick.
ReplyDeleteOh, there are lots of ways to get even with that prick. Eggs and toilet paper to start with. What a heartless bastard.
ReplyDeleteThe other day I saw Alec Baldwin on Friends. Couple days later I was watching some Will And Grace re-runs and he was there too. But I don't know if that's fairly regular basis.
ReplyDeleteNot Shatner. If it was Shatner, he'd have pointed and giggled like he did when a friend's dog was killed. He wouldn't have bothered to stop the car.
ReplyDeleteSheen is the first person who came to mind, given his track record of assholedom. If the shoe fits...
ReplyDeleteidk.
Bastardo! Reveal this please, Enty.
ReplyDeleteMelody, Shatner really did that? If I was that friend, I would've kicked his tubby ass on the spot! I've never liked him.
Rob Lowe?
ReplyDeletewhat a schmuck. pls reveal this one, enty. i want to know who can be so cruel.
ReplyDeleteWhoa! What a dick!
ReplyDeleteYup, Shatner did that. He walked up after De Kelley small dog died in an accident. Being a decent human being, Kelley was crying. Shatner's response to the news of how the dog died (in a sprinkler accident) was to laugh. Unfortunately, De had to work with the ass.
ReplyDeleteI can only think of Chris O Donnel, Christian Slater and Alec Baldwin. Of course Alec has a regular job, but as Linda put it, it is been a while since he started having guest roles in sitcoms and SNL, but i cannot rule him out.
ReplyDeleteO donnel is a good family guy, i am not sure he would b such an ass....maybe Slater....he dated Sharon Stone for a while, so he s got to have some personality problems! lol
He should have stopped, apologized, and left his contact info. 5 minutes, and he's out of there.
ReplyDeleteThat said, the cat should have been under control, not running in the street. The fault lies with the owner. The star was ill mannered, not evil. His apology wouldn't make the cat any less dead, and admissions of wrong doing can lead to lawsuits from random parasites. No one is responsible for your pet but you.
How heartless. I don't think it's Alec Baldwin, he's been involved with a lot of animal causes (including PETA), so I doubt it's him. Plus, doesn't he live in NYC? I doubt he'd be driving to work, he probably has a car service.
ReplyDeleteCharlie Sheen I could buy.
My first thought was Chevy Chase. I know I've seen him pop up in several places lately (Chuck and Community and maybe 30 Rock?), and I think his name at least has A-list recognition.
ReplyDeleteit's a cat, not a person. i have a hard time giving a shit on this one.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe all of the outdoor cat hatred in this thread. Cats who go outdoors live shorter lives - but happier ones. Some cats may be perfectly happy to never set foot outdoors. They are the exception and if you believe otherwise you are fooling yourself.
ReplyDeleteMy cats go out and I try to keep an eye on them, but they're cats - they run and hide and get into stuff. I've tried a leash and they hate it. They're belled (and well fed) to help keep them from killing birds. And you can't keep them "under control". They're cats, not dogs.
I wouldn't blame this guy for killing my cat. It sounds like an accident, and that is part of the deal you have to accept if you let them outside. But I would expect him to apologize.
Why does everyone keep saying Charlie Sheen? Former B list movie actor w/A list name recognition who now goes from tv show to tv show on a fairly regular basis. Charlie has been on Two and A Half Men for how long now? He's not B list movie actor, he's A list tv. Alec Baldwin driving himself? Come on now. Plus like someone pointed out, he's a NYer for his show. I can't even see his ass driving in LA. LOL Moving on....I would say David Spade is more fitting to this description. He lives in LA, started out doing more movies than TV (with the exception of SNL but that show is not like being on a sitcom--most cast members in the past jumped off to movies first) Then after Farley died he was all over tv and has been in a half dozen shows. Everyone knows who Spade is between his career and the fact that he's fucked half of LA and no one can figure out how he's done it. He must be hung like a horse.
ReplyDelete@Anna - thanks for saying all that. I agree completely. Some people have no fucking hearts.
ReplyDeleteTed Danson. He goes from show to show and, though he hasn't done a lot of movies, they've all been about a B-level and he has A-list name recognition.
ReplyDeleteThis ticks me off something awful.
ReplyDeleteA few years ago, I had an indoor & outdoor cat. She was scared out of my yard by a stray cat, and some dolt hit her on the way out of my neighborhood. Imagine how it was for me, pulling into the neighborhood, seeing the dead cat, and realizing that it was MY cat.
Taking her off the street was one of the worst things I had to do in my life. I never found out who hit her.
I hope the owner strings this jackass up by his balls.
ROB LOWE.
ReplyDeleteWhy does everyone keep saying Charlie Sheen?
ReplyDeleteI interpreted the "now goes from tv show to tv show" to mean that the actor manages to always have some show on, without big gaps in his work history. Sheen was on "Sugar Hill" in 1999, "Spin City" from 2000-2002, then "Two and a Half Men" since 2003. David Spade seems more like he'd be a C in movies.
what about D'Onofrio or Jeff Goldblume? just ideas..excuse my spelling, dont care enough to check.
ReplyDeleteMandy Patinkin? chicago hope, dead like me, criminal minds..
My first thought and my vote is Rob Lowe. He seems very matter of fact about stuff.
ReplyDeleteI don't see Chris O'Donnell being this big an asshole. I've always heard he was a decent guy.
ReplyDeleteAs for the cat outdoors thing I'm with the don't do it. My neighbor leaves his cat outdoors and it comes into my yard and torments my dog by coming onto my porch just outside my large windows. If my dog ever gets outside when Mr. Kitty does this that will be one sad cat. My dog HATES him.
Rob Lowe is an excellent choice. The West Wing, Lyon's Den, Brothers and Sisters...that seems like jumping around from show to show. And he's a former movie actor.
ReplyDeleteBetween nannies and former babysitters, I think it's pretty well established that he's an ass.
Show to show may reference Christian Slater - former movie actor, A list name recognition - was on a show that was heavily promoted by NBC that went nowhere (can't remember the name; they promoted it instead of MY show, Life), and now he's on some other new show that I don't care about).
ReplyDeleteI like the James Woods guess, but he would probably say something like "I don't give a fuck about your cat". Can you picture him caring about anything other than himself? That said, no clue.
ReplyDeleteStrange he couldn't just say sorry on the spot.
I do believe it was an accident. Been there. Felt like shit. Nothing you can do about it. Like someone said, cats can't be controlled.
I'm on board w the Christian slater guess
ReplyDeleteYou cannot control a cat. We are a cat family.
ReplyDeleteAccidents happen. Over here a motorist has to inform the police if they run over a cat or dog.
ReplyDeleteHaving said that, he could have at least went over and made he was sorry for the death of the cat!!
When I first got my poor sweet late kitty, it was my husband who insisted that she stay outside part of the day. After what happened? They stay inside.
ReplyDeleteMy humongous four year old cat tries to run outside every chance he gets, even though he was raised as an indoor cat. Thank God he won't go outside my yard and only stays out for 15 minutes or less, but still.
What pissed me off wasn't the actual accident--they happen, sadly--but the 'tude. My God, you just hit someone's beloved pet, and you could care less?!? How would you like it if that happened to your family pet, moron? Ugh. This is why I love my animals more than most people.
People who let their pets run wild outside should be put down. Immediately. There is no excuse for letting pets outside to run wild. It's dangerous for pets and it's dangerous for others. Look how many lives would be saved, pets and human, if pets were just kept inside, or safe inside a fenced area, and cared for properly. The owner disgusts me more than the actor, although he is also disgusting. Just not as much. The owner caused this by their callous attitude toward their cat. It was their responsibility to keep their pet safe.
ReplyDeleteHe hit a cat not a kid.
ReplyDeletet-man, I think you're the reason I like cats more than people.
ReplyDeleteI doubt it was James Woods, he's currently filming a movie in Louisiana. And no way could this be Vincent D'Onofrio, he's a decent human being.
ReplyDeleteI like cats. I just can't eat a whole one by myself.
ReplyDeleteI kid. I've had outside cats, and now I have inside cats. Are they happier outside? Who knows - I just know they become dead much more quickly when allowed to run free. My current kitties have never known a life outside, so whether or not they are 'happier' is a moot point. They will live longer and be healthier.
Cats that go outside run under car tires; there is no preventing it. That said, the guy was a jerk for not stopping to apologize and offer some type of mea culpa for the unfortunate kitty's demise at his hand. A word or two of apology only takes a minute, Mr. Big Shot.
There's nothing I love more than going out to my car in the morning and seeing little paw prints up my windshield.
ReplyDeleteThat being said, regardless of your opinions of cats or dogs -- this was a careless human being who showed complete disregard for the emotional trauma he just inflicted on his neighbour.
I'm with Anna on this one.
ReplyDeleteLioness70, I'm so sorry about your kitty. I have an indoor/outdoor cat, and he doesn't do leashes or collars, and for some reason (thankfully!), he doesn't leave our property. He's a good kitty, and I refer to him as my 'fur baby'.
I tried to keep mine indoors, but his temperament made it impossible, he's a hunter by nature (all cats are!), and I had to let him go out from time to time, since no amount of attention or play would deter him from rushing the doors as soon as they opened.
He doesn't roam to the neighbors' yards, since they all have big dogs, and he's my little fraidy cat!
No clue who this dumbass is, his actions were callous and careless. Like most said, "I'm sorry!" goes a LONG way.
Hey guy--you who made the pet owners should be put down comment. You've never had a cat, I guess. You'd probably applaud the guy who slapped a two year old because she was having a bad day.
ReplyDeleteIt's little wonder our country is going down the toilet, is it?
About who the jackass is, no idea. Those clues are too vague.
Maybe we should send Mindy after his ass?
ReplyDeleteThere are two cats (owners unknown) who have spent the spring and summer in my backyard, methodically killing chipmunks and birds. I know they have homes because they wear collars and look healthy. I'm very upset about the ongoing massacre of the little critters, but I know that the cats are just doing what they're hardwired to do.
ReplyDeleteAs a lifelong pet owner, though, I am bothered by the fact that these two beautiful animals are turned out until nighttime without any sort of supervision. In addition to cars, there are larger predators around my neighborhood - fox, a few coyotes, huge owls. I've seen cats attacked by red-tailed hawks in broad daylight. The results are not pretty, and it all seems so preventable.
That being said, whoever ran the cat down and behaved so boorishly needs professional help. His total lack of compassion, no matter what the circumstances, is disgusting.
Bite your tongue, Jax! Jeff Goldblum would NEVER do such a thing! :)
ReplyDeleteI've had 3 cats stolen. We have a University w/ a veterinary department. I've heard what happens in those labs to live pets who've been stolen and sold to them. So now we have a 4th kitten. And we're eventually going to buy a fencing system called perrfect fence, or install an outdoor enclosure the cat can access via a window.
ReplyDeleteThe person who's kitty was killed by that bastard actor, I can imagine could afford such an enclosure system. Perhaps they'll protect thier kitty better next time :-(
My beautiful kitty is sleeping next to me as I type this! She's indoor only because I lost my last cat due to either a car, a coyote or a fisher, and I wasn't letting it happen again.
ReplyDeleteI do believe it was an accident, but how much of an utter douchebag can you be to not apologize to someone for hitting their pet, especially when they witnessed it? Come on! Have a heart!
Sorry about what happened to your kitty, Lioness. I'd love to know who this asshole is so I can make sure I never watch anything he is in. It was an accident but damn show a little compassion.
ReplyDeleteThanks all.
ReplyDeleteI have an idiot next-door neighbor who has an rancid outdoor cat. This thing pees on my garden (I hosed it once because I was that cheesed off), scares my cats, scares my kids, and is just a jerkoff cat in general. Sometimes I wonder why she even bothered getting this godforsaken thing. And sometimes I wonder why my poor baby went to kitty heaven instead of this thing and its nasty matted fur.
Cats like this one are what inspired the dumbass comments made above. I clearly blame the dumbass owner for not properly caring for this thing.
Lisa (original) - I work for a medical research organization. Cats are never used for medical research. For an animal to be used for such purposes it has to have something in common with human physiology. Certain animals are used for certain studies. (We seem to have more in common with rats than primates.) Most animals are born and raised in a laboratory setting. I say most because for some reason, monkeys cannot be born and raised that way - it actually changes their physiology. Every other animal needs to be "pure" - completely untouched by disease.
ReplyDeleteTo cut off any arguments about medical research - most of the employees where I work are heavy into animals rights (some move on to become veterinarians). The next time you use your puffer or a relative takes their pills to help combat cancer, thank the animals who went through the toxicological testing to help you get better. If we couldn't test on specially-bred animals, what would we test on? Humans?
Sorry Lisa, when I clicked on the publish button I realized you said "veterinary" department. My eyes went red because everyone likes to blame their missing animals on CROs. What I don't understand is if they're studying to become ethical veterinarians, why can't they use animal corpses from vet offices around town or from the animal shelters? Why would they experiment on them rather than dissect them?
ReplyDeleteThis sounds like an episode of Curb Your Enthusiasm.
ReplyDeleteohmyGOD! What an asshole!
