Skydiver Films His Own Fall When His Parachute Doesn't Open
I have to tell you right away that the man who filmed himself falling to an almost certain death did live. Paul Lewis jumped out of an airplane at 10,000 feet. Both his main and backup chutes didn't work but yet somehow Paul managed to walk away with only minor injuries. Minor considering he should have died. Apparently the fact that Paul landed on the roof of a hangar rather than the ground is what saved his life. The most interesting part of all this is that Paul filmed every second of the jump. The camera didn't turn off until Paul impacted with the roof.

ReplyDeleteWhat MM said! What? "...He will never jump from an airplane again..." Gee, I wonder why?
ReplyDeleteYikes. Glad he made it. A friend of mine was killed earlier this summer falling 2,000 feet (mountain climbing) and I haven't been able to get out of my head what that must have been like. Glad this had a happy ending.
ReplyDeletethis would be my tape if i were him:
ReplyDelete"FUCKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!"
That is terrifying. I am never skydiving. Ever.*L*
ReplyDeleteand THIS is why i believe in miracles. wow.
ReplyDeleteJax, I love you....LMAO
ReplyDeleteThere have been instances of others surviving a fall like that, because they passed out from spinning in the air so their bodies were limp when they hit the ground. Amazing.
I guess it just wasn't his time. Lucky fellow.
ReplyDeleteHe is very lucky. I bet he'll change his mind and return to this sport at some point.

ReplyDeleteHaving skydived before [military] - yep, he is so lucky. And I have given the war cry that Jax knows... someone was under me and deflated my chute several times and I called him everything but lover... didn't help but made me feel better :) I landed without too much drama.
ReplyDeleteSkydiving is a blast! Trick is to stop screaming so you can actually enjoy the quiet up there.
ReplyDeleteThis guy did get help from a miracle though.
