Thanks for these great clips!! I grew up w/Patrick Swayze and always loved him for the best line ever "Nobody puts Baby in a corner." purely for selfish reasons as my middle name is baby.
I'm glad you agree with what I've been telling everyone I know since last night- he was so much more than "Dirty Dancing" and "Ghost". Red Dawn, Roadhouse, and the Chippendale Dance-off are my top 3 Swayze memories. Takes a special guy to be able to laugh at himself like he did on SNL.
LOL at Love Man video. It's in French. Patrick was a lot of things, but I don't think he spoke French, although it certainly adds to his already phenomenal animal appeal.
Oh...Roadhouse. One of my secret guilty pleasures. After watching it whenever it was on TBS, I finally got it on DVD. Words cannot describe the cheesy greatness of this movie.
Oh and great love to Red Dawn as well.
Oh and the Chippendales! I saw a documentary on Chris Farley and I guess he was really upset over doing it at first because it was a direct slam at his weight. *sob*
Thank you, Enty. RIP Patrick. Bursting with talent. Thank you to Patsy for raising and training such a wonderful man. Thank you to Lisa for lending him to us for a while to ogle and drool over. I hope it's true that we take the love with us. He's taking so much with him. :-C
Thank you Enty!
ReplyDeleteI actually downloaded (some time ago) DD and Ghost to my Ipod - guilty viewing pleasure.
Still so sad - why do the really good ones have to be taken away so soon?
I had forgotten Gary Busey was in Point Break. I wonder if comcast will be showing any of these soon.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Enty.
ReplyDeleteNow I have to grab some Kleenexes. /sniff
can you BE more awesome?
ReplyDelete*loves*
The SNL skit... no words.
ReplyDeleteTwo great talents who left us far too soon.
The Chippendales skit will never not be funny. And PB is classic fun.
ReplyDeleteSad. Death really needs to take a holiday. Enough already.
Oh, that SNL clip is one of my all-time favourites!
ReplyDelete"Nobody puts Baby in a corner."
ReplyDeletePerhaps one of worst ever movie lines, uttered by a man we will all miss immensely.
RIP, Patrick. Dance, dance, dance.
Thanks for these great clips!!

ReplyDeleteI likee
This is great, thanks enty!
ReplyDeleteHe did some cheesy stuff for sure, but we forget what a great dancer and performer he really was.

ReplyDeleteI heart Point Break.
ReplyDeletePatrick, you will be missed and God bless your lovely wife.

Man. Loved him as a teenager.
ReplyDeleteRoadhouse is one of the best cheesy movies ever. Him AND Ben Gazzara, of all people. Yeah. I watch it everytime it comes on TNT at night. :)
Thanks, Enty! It makes me sad that his death was overshadowed by that douche Kanye.
ReplyDeleteThe mini-series, "North & South" was one of my favorites. Hours & hours of wonderful, handsome Patrick Swayze (Orry Main).
ReplyDeleteOh, and a few others ;-)
