Jessica Simpson Is Still Looking For Her Dog

Two days and several thousand dollars later, Jessica Simpson is still looking for her dog. Oh, and if you are not with her you are against her. Or an asshole as she puts it. On her Twitter yesterday she said, "Still holding out hope despite the assholes that say is it (sic) a dumb thing to do. Daisy is my baby...why would I stop searching? I'm a mom.

At least she has given up the idea that the coyote who took Daisy away while Jessica was standing there is going to see Jessica's Twitter page. For the first day all her messages were addressed to the coyote. Apparently that whole every child gets a laptop thing has spread to the animal kingdom. And they have wireless. Yesterday Jessica hired some company that will look for your dog. The company called 1,000 of Jessica's closest neighbors. Yeah, that is the deluxe service and will cost you many thousands of dollars.

I do feel sorry for her though. I know what it is like to lose a dog, and if I had a dog snatched by coyotes and had the money I might hire a company to look for the dog also.

  1. I feel bad for her but most of all for Daisy. I hate coyotes--so useless and gross.
This has been a bad past few months for Jessica.

  2. I feel genuinely sorry for her on this. She loved that dog.
Some asshole made a tacky remark about it in the CDAN comments section the other day - not cool.

  3. I feel for her too. Dogs are such sweet animals, and it's nice to see a celebrity genuinely devoted to her dog, not just using it as an accessory.

That said, has anyone checked Paris Hilton's whereabouts? I can see how she would be BFF with a coyote (people won't have her anymore) and now has poor Daisy locked in a closet with the other doggie skeletons.

  4. The sad fact is Daisy is in doggy heaven. Not exactly the type of dog that would be able to fight off a bigger animal, much less a coyote. It would be a miracle if Daisy is recovered alive.

  5. She has her issues.....but I feel horrible for her. Poor Daisy. I can understand Jessica's desperation.

  6. I do too, this girl seriously can't catch a break! Watched it happen, can't blame her for holding out hope against reality. She was obviously devoted to that dog.

  7. She should team up with O.J. on this.

  8. I truly feel bad for her. She HAS had it rough, hasn't she?!

i know what it is like to pay thousands of dollars towards a pet. Mine is a moneypit. =) I KNOW i've spent at least 3 grand over the last two years to keep him alive. All that for a 6lb mutt! But I wouldn't have it any other way, I love the guy.

  9. Poor Jessica. I can't imagine watching a coyote snatch away my beloved pet.

  10. This kills me everytime I read it. I feel so awful for that little dog. I am trying to write this succintly and without all my names for dogs - cause I know I sound ridiculous with all the made up words

  11. She just can't catch a break. I thought the dog would be back home by now.

  12. rip, little daisy. i know how difficult it is to lose a beloved pet, and i know she' hurting. i love doggies just as much as the next person, and i'm sorry, but that "I'm a mom." comment struck me as so ridiculous. i'm not trying to be insensitive, i know pets often become our "children", but come ON, perspective pls. thank god it wasn't a child.

  13. Did you see Martha Stewart said Jessica should have watched it better, payed closer attention when her dog was eaten/snatched? Only Martha Stewart would say someone should have protected their dog better from being taken by a coyote. The real-life animal isn't quite as inept as the cartoon version, Stewart. This coming from the human equivalent of a coyote.

  14. My sister and I were just talking about this. We truly feel bad for her and Daisy. She genuinely cared for her little dog. We both have dogs and cannot imagine how she is feeling.

  15. I would go nuts if that happened to my dog.

  16. this is pretty darn sad. i felt so bad for her when i read about this. i actually said, out loud, "oh no! not Daisy!" she always had that dog with her. you guys are right, this has been a hard few months for her, and while she may not be the sharpest tool in the shed, she seems like a genuine person. maybe someone close to her should let her know that it might be a good idea to start grieving =(

  17. I too feel bad for her. I remember the Newlyweds episode when Nick gave her the dog. I was wondering what he thinks about this and do you think out of the kindness of his heart he would get her another one? Just my weird thought for the day.
    RIP Daisy

  18. Coyotes should take Martha Stewart away. . .

Cannot stand Simpson but I do feel sorry for her losing her pet; I put my collie to sleep seven years ago and still miss his sweetness.

  19. LOL @ Momster. Martha Stewart is vile.

I like animals better than people. I feel very sorry for her.RIP Daisy.

  20. "For the first day all her messages were addressed to the coyote"

That made me laugh out loud.

  21. I realize she's not the sharpest pencil in the box, however doesn't she ever watch any sort of animal show?
I don't want to be a jerk, however someone needs to tell her that Daisy has become a coyote's meal, not a sex slave or kidnap victim. If she's lucky, that service she paid for will find a collar.
    RIP Daisy.

  22. It's obvious Martha Stewart has no idea what it's like in the western U.S. where Coyotes snatching small pets is more commonplace than Connecticut or wherever she is from. In Arizona, this is quite common, especially in the areas by the open canals or on the outskirts of town where everything is newly developed. I feel terrible for her.

Unfortunately, I think poor Daisy is in Doggie Heaven.

  23. I don't think what she's doing is out of line at all for someone in her position...it may be a tiny chance that the coyote got spooked by a car or a person and dropped the dog and ran off, but all Jessica is doing is attempting to be as loyal to Daisy as Daisy was to her. She needs to take whatever actions she feels are available so that she can sleep at night, knowing she tried. Good on her for being willing to look silly if it could possibly result in Daisy being recovered.

  24. I feel bad for her, but wouldn't a leash have been a better investment than a search party after the fact?

Very well said Charlie - you are exactly right and I am heartbroken for her. Even though I am really not a fan of her on a professional level, she is a human who loves her dog and I can totally relate to that. I and my husband, as very middle class people, with very middle class incomes, spent $14,000 on pets in 2005, with most of it going to one of our 2 young and very loved dogs who tore a ligament and needed a hip replacement. If I was Jessica, I would have hired search helicopters. The money she is spending will make no dent in her pocketbook and will put some people to work. The money we spent just about broke us and we are still trying to recover and I financially and I wouldn't change what we did at all.

  26. She is actually not paying for the service -- FindToto called and offered to help her (probably in exchange for promotion.) Not to say that she wouldn't have paid it, but the company said up front yesterday that they offered to help her for free.

  27. That poor puppy. I'd lose it if that happened to my beagle. Did she have one of those chips for location in her puppy?

  28. No matter what was going on in Jessica's life, no matter how many guys dumped her, the one constant in her life was Daisy. My prayers to Jessica. I bet she was closer to Daisy than a lot of humans.

  29. Poor Daisy she was a sweet little pup. And poor Jessica she must be devastated. She loved that little dog. I feel so bad for her. She's had a rough year and I'm sure this was far worse than getting dumped by Tony Romo. I wish there was some way Daisy could have escaped and Jessica would find her. I wouldn't be ready to give up yet either if it was my doggie.

  30. I read on Janet Charlton's H-wood that it was actually Jess's mom who was looking after the dog while Jess was out of the country filming her new show. Daisy chased a squirrel and then the coyote pounced.

  31. Christ .. I am soooo scatterbrained lately but I either wrote here or at D-Listed that I am not a huge fan of Jessica's - not a hater either for that matter .. totally Team Jess on the whole Romo deal .. but this is just horrible for her and I just feel terrible.

I saw a bunny murdered by a crow this early summer and it was god awful .. for that poor gal to see her dog grabbed by coyotes - I would be in a mental ward frankly.

This poor gal really needs a damn break.. : /

  32. Several really "on point" posts -- Charlie and Val made two that registered w/me. Yes, i'd pay in a heartbeat, and second, if your dog weighs under 12 lbs., [s]he ought to be on a leash outside at all times. It's not just coyotes, a hawk swooped down and took a neighbor's dog away in Charleston -- Not out on one of the islands, but on the peninsula. The next time i got a puppy, i checked with my vet; she said 12 lbs. was about the limit for a bird of prey [if you know otherwise, please let me know]. Using a leash might at least deter a coyote from approaching close enough to get your baby. And "yes" i said "baby" because that's what mine are to me.

  33. we have coyotes right here, and they've gotten pretty bold the last couple of years. we don't see a lot of roaming cats anymore (damn people, don't let your cats run around outside!) and i don't know if any of the wild buns have survived. we all have fenced yards, and we are not out in the boonies.
they will also take very young children. and if they are hungry enough, they will snatch small animals from arms reach and challenge larger animals for food.
i don't blame her for the "i'm a mom" thing. i've spent fortunes on my cats and my buns, and they've all been my babies. when i talk to them, i call myself "mommy", don't we all?
poor jess. she may be a little dim, but i believe she has a huge heart, and loves with every corner of it. this has to be worse than anything else she's been through.
i doubt she'll ever give up 100%. i hope daisy's cross over the bridge was quick and painless.
