Daily Mirror Blind Item

In today's Daily Mirror we asked: Which fading 1980s popstar has resorted to scouring for women on cheesy dating websites - and lying on his profile? He describes himself as a "5ft 10in, late 30s stud". He's actually 5ft 4 - and nearly 50.

Your extra clue: Wonder how much that sets him back.

  2. I have never gotten the lying about your height thing, but holy mother, 6 inches? However, I do always include the 'and a half' when giving my height.

  8. Rick Springfield is taller than 5'4". He's Australian and married still, I think.

  11. Dunno who this one is about, but I have seen Kristy Krash Majors from (slightly known) glam band Pretty Boy Floyd posting personal ads--with photos, mind you. Joe LeSte (from Bang Tango/Beautiful Creatures) as well.

  15. I saw Rick Springfield perform this summer, and he's pretty way hot. It was sort of icky when he took his shirt off for the encore, but until then, I would have hit that. Doubt he would have to troll for women on cheesy websites. There's a line waiting.

  16. oh, by "icky when he took his shirt off," I meant cheesy, not that he was flabby and out of shape. Springfield might be inappropriately taking off his shirt and trying to be a hot young rocker (ick), but he was definitely in shape. and way taller than 5'4" and he's 60. So this blind is not him.

  17. Andrew Ridgeley, since he's in the photos? He's close to 50, but I think he's fairly tall. And hasn't been famous since the late 80's.

  18. Rick Springfield has been a vegetarian for decades and into eastern philosophies and lifestyles. He's the walking advertisment for a healthly lifestyle. That's what makes him so hot at 60.

David Duchovny leads a similar lifestyle but with the sex addiction.

After looking at that Andrew Ridgely photo, I googled him and came up the the UK article it was from and he's been living with Keren from Bananarama for years.

My first thought was Adam Ant, but he's past 50.

Ok, I see Rick Springfield was a weak guess. The term "fading" 80's star. Haven't they all faded from the 80's?

  21. "He's not in Australia, he's in the UK."

Always cracks me up when a Brit uses the term UK.
Really now, "United Kingdom"? Can't we accept that England is now only one little island?

  24. The United Kingdom is comprised of England, Wales, and Northern Ireland. England is only a part of it.

  25. Hah! I sincerely doubt that Steve Strange would be trolling for *women*. What about Jim Kerr (Simple Minds), or Barry Andrews (Shriekback)?
