What Do You Do When The Winner Of Your Show Is A Killer?
TMZ is reporting this morning that a finalist on the VH-1 reality show Megan Wants A Millionaire is a "person of interest" in the murder of former Playboy Bunny Jasmine Fiore, who was also his wife. Jasmine's body was found inside a trash can over the weekend and the police have been looking for Ryan Alexander Jenkins.
Ryan first called police Saturday night to report Jasmine as missing but since that phone call he can't be found. The police think he may be headed to or already back in his native Canada. He is from Calgary.
So, Ryan is a contestant on this VH-1 reality show and I don't think the ratings have been that great as of yet. I am sure it will now though and people will watch in record numbers for a show that sounds fairly idiotic. The representatives from the show say that Ryan was a finalist. They won't say whether he won or not. They want you to watch. Sure he might be a killer but they want you coming back each week to see if he wins. I actually think they should stop running the show. I mean what if this guy did win? Do you think the family of Jasmine wants to see that or hear about it? Take the show off the air. Forget your ratings and throw on some repeats of The Surreal Life.
Whether he won the show or not it appears that immediately after the show ended, Ryan went to Vegas and met Jasmine where she was dancing at a strip club. Two days later they were married.
DAMN. dude was more than likely a sociopath.
ReplyDeleteOff topic but Megan is not attractive at all. Why would any Millionaire want her when they could buy someone more better looking? Maybe she has a great personality :)
ReplyDeleteThat aside this guy sounds terrible and no one deserves to be with such a creep...except maybe Courtney Love.
i hate calgary but we really dont need another douche bag. dont come here.
ReplyDeletemore better looking? sorry I don't know what is wrong with me today.
ReplyDeleteoops that picture is Jasmine. I take back my comment - don't want to speak ill of her.
ReplyDeleteVH1 took off any mention of Megan Wants a Millionaire from their website this morning...
ReplyDeleteRyan is the one that told Megan he wouldn't make her sign a pre-nup and so far he's had the "best connection" with her. I highly doubt the show is real but it's entertaining..slightly.
So awful. What a horrible story.
ReplyDeleteholy cow. =O
ReplyDeleteSG~ I just did the smae thing, and was looking for MWAM~ no where to be found~ way to cover your tracks VH1.
ReplyDeleteAllegedly, all contestants on these shows go through a "rigorous" psychological testing~ by whom I wonder? Somehow does not seem to be working....
Anyway~ poor girl....hope they get the guy.
Wait, so he was married to someone else while going on a dating-reality show? Does VH1 really not do ANY background checks anymore?
ReplyDeleteDouche and sociopath.
This was all over the L.A. news this morning. They've got the Royal Canadian Mounted police on the case and don't they always get their man?
ReplyDeleteNobody should be left naked, stuffed in a suitcase and thrown in a dumpster.
Enty, did you seriously just suggest that a VH-1 reality show might have ANY ethics? I'm sure if they do pull the show it'll be because they figure they can get even more publicity for doing that than for keeping it on.
ReplyDeleteFrom the LA Times article: "Lapore said Jenkins had been working on another reality show that was being shot at his home. She said she was unaware of any problems between Jenkins and her daughter."
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like VH1 was shooting a new dating show with him as the star. So he probably came in 2nd place, not won MWaM. VH1 reality shows are so templatized!
That show has epic fail written all over it. It'll be interesting to see what VH1 does now.
Speaking of reality show ethics, did any of you watch Hell's Kitchen last night? I can't believe they put Robert on that bike. I know that show is all about the manufactured drama, but that is going WAY too far. They literally could have killed him.
ReplyDeleteAvaMore, I'm sure they do go through rigorous psychological testing, but I think they do it for the purpose of finding the real whack jobs to be on the show.
ReplyDeleteMegan is a total snatch. If they do catch that douchebag they should force them to be together since living with her would be the equivalent of purgatory.
ReplyDeleteNot that I'm defending Megan, but I read that he was a finalist, she didn't pick him, and he ran off to Vegas. The next thing she knew, he married this poor girl.
ReplyDeleteWas he arrested for something else? Why does he have a mugshot?

@DNfromMN
ReplyDeleteHe got married AFTER leaving the show. Whatever the case, it's sad and I hope her family gets some closure on the situation.

ReplyDeleteHahaha Mooshki~ you are so right!
ReplyDeleteor maybe they give them the equivilent of those "Online Personality Tests"~ right?
Geeze....
@ Mooshki - I watched Hell's Kitchen and to be honest, I don't think he should have been given a second chance on that show to begin with. His weight will always be a problem - he just can't hack it.
ReplyDeleteRegarding this, after all the money the producers spent on the show, I'd be surprised (but impressed) if they scrapped it.
@califblondy - it seems like the Mounties SOMETIMES get their man, and NEVER get their man when they're investigating each other. Which is often. But that's a whole other rant.
Ugh. It made me sick to my stomach to read this today. I actually know Ryan - I posted this on gawker but he used to date one of my girlfriends and I met him when I came home to visit (he subsequently gave her clamidia). They're saying he's an investment banker but last I heard he was peddling real estate and was busy hitting up people (incl my then-bf) for investment capital. He was always a serious douche.
ReplyDeleteI wonder if he had to get rid of her, because VH1 wanted to shoot a dating show and a wife would be inconvenient?
ReplyDeleteIt could get very interesting if future stories reveal him to be an actor, rather than the investment banker he was portrayed as on the show.
MwaM has been removed from the vh1 site. Looks like they are going to cancel the show. Some fan boards are sayign that he had also filmed I Love Money for vh1. If so, I wonder if they would also scrap that show?
Hmm...and what if he ends up being innocent here? Yet vh1 is possibly removing all association with him.
so lets see, he got tossed off the millionaire show, went and got married, was then approached by VH1 for a dating show and then offed his inconvenient wife? and then tells a mutual friend the day after she died he was 'done with the relationship'
ReplyDeleteinteresting.
sorry harriet, one more reason not to move to calgary!!! lol.
Shameless, remorseless d-bag.
ReplyDeleteWooohoo. I'm from Calgary...
ReplyDeleteExcuse me while I go patrol the city limits and look for him.
@valerie
ReplyDeleteWhat message boards are you reading that speculate him being on I Love Money?
I guess he was serious about getting his green card. First a dating show to get married, then when that didn't work...off to Vegas!
ReplyDeleteMooshki, I agree about the harshness on Hell's last night. Waaay too much. Jeez, I thought this was supposed to be a cooking show? I despise all things Ramsey. He is however hubby's fav. He also thinks "Full Metal Jacket" is one of the best films ever. Tomatoe, Tomaaato.
ReplyDeleteTop Chef, now THAT'S good!
The local Calgary news states he was a realtor for his Daddy's company. Not to sound glib, but having a net worth of 2 million is not saying much these days. Definetly not "investment advisor" worthy. Fakery everywhere these days, including his badly waxed eyebrows.
ReplyDeleteI am suspect of any dude who overly waxes the brows. Creepy.
The least of what he is is an opportunist. He's a murderer - allegedly.
ReplyDeleteJust realized today that husband worked with her on a show a few years back. Very said. :-C
VH-1 has postponed future airings of the show.
