A Jonas Brother?
If you want to get a ticket to Hollywood this year on American Idol, then you might just have to have the approval of Joe Jonas. Yes, that vast musical talent known as a Jonas is going to decide whether or not contestants on this season of American Idol have talent. Is he really an arbiter of talent? This just makes me think that it is the producers who decides who moves on to the Hollywood round. They need some drama for those episodes of the show and my guess is that Joe Jonas and the other judges make very few decisions on their own in that round.
A decision I firmly stand behind is that Kelly Clarkson is getting a chance to judge as is Mary J Blige. I would love Mary J to be a judge all season long. You absolutely know she wouldn't take any crap at all from Simon and would put him in his place in a second. She doesn't need the job and so wouldn't need to kiss his ass. I think all the other judges are scared of Simon and know that he can keep them or not and so show a deference to him he probably doesn't deserve. Mary J is her own woman and knows what she is talking about and I bet Simon would never once correct her. That could make for a very good season.
still think Whitney Houston would be great, I'd actually watch.
ReplyDeleteA Jonas Yuckkkkkk
ReplyDelete"that vast musical talent known as a Jonas" - I shouldn't be laughing this much at work!
ReplyDeleteOff-topic:
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone of you guys know other celebrity sites than Egotastic and Hollywood Tuna which post close-ups of celebrities? I love looking at bad makeup, covered up pimples and wrinkles. :)
mjb would be AWESOME.
ReplyDeletelol @ '...that vast musical talent known as a Jonas...'!
Is American Idol an arbiter of talent? Joe Jonas has probably made more than all the "Idols" combined.
ReplyDelete"This just makes me think that it is the producers who decides who moves on to the Hollywood round."
ReplyDeleteDuh. ;) Nigel Lythgoe admitted this year that they decide who to put through on SYTYCD according to "types" rather than talent, so I'm sure he had the same system on Idol.
Mina, Just Jared posts a lot of high-res pictures.
ReplyDeleteIf Mary J.B. is on AI I definitely have to watch!
ReplyDeleteI admire this woman for making it through her storms.
She's maturing into quite the artist as opposed to the other artists who are close to her age or older than her.
Oh Mary J will be AWESOME. She is the ultimate diva - but in an AWESOME way ;)
ReplyDeleteI also like Clarkson - she seems very genuinely secure in herself, and is a normal-looking woman.
Clarkson would be interesting considering her "falling out" with TPTB. I am eternally greatful my DD was/is not a Jonas fan. I really am tolerant of most music but I cannot stand them.
ReplyDeletemina,
ReplyDeleteawfulplasticsurgery.com posts lots of obvious surgery scars and bad celebrity rhinoplasty.
Back in the day that website had an awesome message board that everyone on here would have loved.
@Cheryl - thanks a lot - I tried to stay away, I really did. Ug - I'll have nightmares for a week (year) from awfulplasticsurgery.com.
ReplyDeleteMary J. Blige stood up for Chris Brown, she a victim of domestic abuse, stood up for that cheesy chickenshit bully, so no I won't be watching any episode Mary J Blige is judging. It looks like Joe Jonas will be choosing the talent on the show, which means I wont be tuning in to any episodes at all during the season.
ReplyDeleteGeez, Enty & all - it's just a guest spot! It's for attention and honestly...anyone replacing Paula Abdul is not exactly supplanting a vast resource of musical expertise and cohesive input, is it?
ReplyDeleteAnd further...the Jonases are really very talented - like most people, you can't know much about them if you think they're not - and very (moreso?) successful. I don't watch American Idol, but from what I can tell, that's the goal of the contestants.
Joe's a seriously wonderful live vocalist with about 5 years of nonstop touring under his belt, and some Broadway before that.
What makes a real "idol" is that je ne sais quoi charisma, right?...Joe's a great example of that, more than his brothers, even the musical prodigy one, which is a major part of why the band is a phenomenon. (Disney can only do so much for you with airtime and marketing. Just ask the T-Squad or Jordan Pruitt...yeah...who?)
Anyways, I'm just saying, I think he's amply qualified. :) And he'll probably have all of 2 minutes of screentime, smiling kindly at some freaky auditioners. AI will get new viewers who never watched before, ever...like myself. I'm excited for Joe, and the naysayers who might get a better sense of the best Jonas. All good!
