Jon & Kate Is Boring
I have never watched any Jon & Kate episodes. I have seen bits and pieces but have never sat down and watched a full episode. So, last night I decided to rectify that situation. I don't know what the show was like before but last night was one big pile of boredom. It was two episodes. The first was filmed before they officially broke up and Kate made some remarks about Jon being an idiot when it came to home remodeling but there wasn't much other conflict. In the second episode, it was just Kate + 8 + some production assistants acting as parents. The kids wanted to go camping so Kate had to pitch a tent in the backyard. She couldn't and so the production assistants helped. The kids all kept saying dad was the best at camping and that Kate was not going to be able to do it.
I get the feeling that every week is just going to be akin to watching kids at a pre-school. Today we are going to do this and all the kids do it. There was no drama and no action and even great editing doesn't change the fact that the show is boring, boring, boring. I'm sure they had big numbers in the ratings last night but they are going to need to have Hailey show up with her guns and Michael Lohan to show up with Kate Major for this to have any kind of chance to be on the air past this season.
LOL yeah, for reals. They need to get some REAL action going. These asshats need to fade in to obscurity and SOON.
ReplyDeleteWell, to be fair, the kid was never intended to be some sort of prime time drama. It was always intended to show the life of a couple with eight kids, which it is. Honestly, I know about six little kids under the age of five who adore watching reruns of the show on TLC (when Jon and Kate were still a couple). The so-called 'boring' episodes are not boring to the little people who are only interested in the children and not the histrionics of the parents.
ReplyDeleteuh, the 'show', not the 'kid'. Sorry, feels like Monday today.
ReplyDeleteI thought it was entertaining when the kids were tiny, they were adorable and always out of control. They're bigger now, and not so adorable.
ReplyDeleteAgreed with Kat - it was supposed to be about the lives of a couple with eight very small children. Maybe its time has passed?
what an horrible haircut!!!
ReplyDeletelol @ your show ideas, enty! they totally should have aunt hailey show up with papa lohan.
ReplyDeleteNow that both of the adults are so utterly unlikeable, yeah, pull the cord on this shit. Give those poor kids a chance at growing up normal.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe children should be on reality shows. They don't understand the long term implications of what they say and do. They're unable to censor their comments or emotions the way adults can. And don't get me started about having shows like this tape in states that don't have child labor laws.
ReplyDeleteThe Gosselins have already made $10 million from the show and books. That should be enough to set the family up for life. Unless they need $15 million. Maybe $25 million. I don't think any amount of money will be enough for the parents.
Stop watching the show. Free the kids.
I never got into this crap and I'm usually a sucker for reality shows. I couldn't stand her asking and answering her own questions and he was just a big lug sitting there taking her sh*t.
ReplyDeleteI'm with the pull the plug crowd.
I'm sorry for your eyes that you had to watch them. I never will and I know I'm not missing out on a thing. Also sorry for the hour you wasted.
ReplyDeleteThey are both hair-impared.
ReplyDeleteGee! An upper-middle class couple with too many kids who secretly hate each other! That's so RARE in America! We should make a SHOW about it!
ReplyDeleteI've enjoyed the show when I watched it. However, I'm very, very, very sick of these 2 and think it's time to pull the plug.
ReplyDeleteEnty, I can't believe that you have been trashing Jon & Kate all this time when you have never watched their show. Somehow I thought you had your own opinions about others, hence this blog. I am disappointed that you have been merrily parroting what you read and heard elsewhere about this family.
ReplyDeleteIt appears that your have now formulated an opinion of your own - that it is boring. I will respect that opinion since it was entirely formed by you.
wipe out, go back and look...
ReplyDeleteenty had reported the news as reported by other blogs.
and hysterically funny photos and such (face plant, anyone?).
i don't watch either. i've seen a handful of episodes, but it still doesn't alter my sense of right and wrong.
just sayin', is all.
Not only is it boring, but it's not even a show, it's just one long informercial for whatever product Kate is getting for free that week. The episode where they announced their separation was one long commerical for those crooked houses the kids got, and Monday night's 2nd episode was all about Coleman camping supplies. I am so sick of these aholes.
