Bachelorette Winner Celebrated Engagement By Cheating - Twice

For once in the history of their publication, US Weekly has some great gossip. Juicy in fact. If they could keep this up then maybe they would be worth actually reading at the checkout stand. In their latest issue they have interviews with two women. Two actual women. Not sources, but actual women who are identified by name and who have texts and e-mails to back up their claims. They claim that while Ed Swiderski was on his "break" from The Bachelorette he slept with both of them. He also slept with one of the women after he asked Jillian Harris to marry him and tried to sleep with the other one. He proved to be unlucky with the second one though. Apparently he thought a text saying, "bring beer and condoms" would get him some action. You already know he is the biggest a-hole in the world for cheating a week after asking someone to marry him, but that text is the tool text of the year. It shows you exactly what he thinks of women and it isn't pretty. If you can't provide the alcohol and birth control than you shouldn't be having sex.

Neither of the two women knew about the other. Ed had actually been sleeping with both of them before he went on the show. Then of course he slept with both of them while he was on the show. He then told them both he had to go on a business trip which is when he went back to the show and had sex with Jillian. Maybe. I guess we know why he had problems performing. Too much sex with too many people. After he had sex with Jillian and asked her to marry him he went back to Chicago and cheated on his soon to be bride.

What does Jillian have to say about all this? "It's not possible... This is a bump in the road and we'll get through it." She needs to stop kidding herself and dump the guy right now. Right now. He will always cheat on her. Always. If she lets him get away with this he will just get worse. I know there are lots of people in Vancouver who read this and must know Jillian. Tell her to run, run, run. Throw the ring at him and run.

  3. She was in my social circle when I came home to Calgary for Stampede in early July this year - and though she wasn't allowed to say anything, when she got drunk she did tell us in advance that she was engaged.

I told my friend at the time that there's no way it was actually happening.

I think contractually she was going along with it all (had to pick someone) but there was a spark missing. You could tell that she felt restricted and wanted to party, but there were always swarms of people around her. Hopefully this will mean she's "allowed" to call off the engagement. It all seemed distasteful.

  4. And this was the guy I picked. I guess that says alot for my judgement in men.

I thought realitysteve had some dirt on Ed so I've been expecting something like this to come out.

Once Jill and Ed finish their rounds on the shows, it'll all be ovuh. Sad, so very sad.

  5. YYYAAAWWWNNNN. NO ONE CARES.

It's all fake and we all know it.

Funny, too, because the more they try to make this kinda shit interesting and dramatic, the more boring and mundane it all becomes.

By "it" I mean ALL reality TV. Even the shows that include talent being displayed live.

We have become desensitized to it.

So conversely, and likely perversely, what I watch now if I'm sitting at night with no chores to do are stupid shows like COPS, Speeders, World's Wildest whatever--all that cop-related stuff on "TruTV" channel.

Bonaduce and his ilk cracking on idiots.

At least that stuff is REAL.

  6. I can't watch the bachelor/ette shows. They just scream sad and pathetic to me.

  7. Enty, I already forwarded this to my mutual friend to forward on!

The Bachelorette might be fake but this season wasn't. She had the choice to walk away and choose no one, they don't make you pick or propose if you aren't feelin it,that would be against your basic human rights.

    she should have chosen Reid.

  8. No, no, no. Sell the ring, go on a great vacay with the cash. (Although I wonder if the ring actually belongs to the production company? How does that work?)

PS - the girl on the lower right looks like Ashlee Simpson pre-nose job.

  9. ....and, another one bites the dust.

She should have stuck with Reid. He seemed like such a sweetie - and the smart one for not wanting to rush into anything.

But as long as there are people wanting their 15 minutes, there will be more Bachelor and Bachelorette shows.

  10. i saw the interview w/ them both on this morning's Good Morning America...it was so sad. she was trying a little too hard to laugh it off, claiming it was the last time she'd address those "rumors". he, when asked, denied, denied, denied...thing is tho, his body language was insane! he was blinking every half second, shifting his eyes all over the place, and fidgeting. i don't know diddly about body language, but i'm telling you guys, it was soooooo obvious he was lying. i felt sorry for jillian. she's in major denial.

  12. To Caroline....if you sell the ring and go on vacation, you could owe the man for the cost of the ring. I've watched enough court shows (and that's all the legal background I have so I may be wrong) to learn that the ring is considered a contract and belongs to the man until the contract (marriage) has been fulfilled. So, divorcees can sell their rings but no-longer-engaged can not and must return it.

I don't necessarily agree with it but I don't write the laws.

  13. Yawn. That's what you get for going on tv for love.

  14. Cheri, that just sucks. I'd never give the ring back. My guy would have to take me to court if it ever came to that. Either that or I'd just throw it really far. He never can find anything!

  15. From what I've heard, since the whole "Brad choosing no one" bust up they are heavily pushed to choose someone. This is for entertainment purposes and they need to entertain their audiences to keep pulling in advertising dollars. People want a love story, even if everyone knows it won't last.

  16. Pookie, thanks for the link.... I will say (having embarrassingly watched the whole season) that Ed has ALWAYS looked that nervous, eyes wide and blinky, biting his lip, whatever. So either this guy has a tick of epic proportions, or he is very easily read and that should've been picked up on immediately.

  17. @jax -- you really need to read the realitysteve blog. He makes it clear that they needed her to "close the deal" on this.

  18. Cheri - you are partially correct. If the mans ends the engagement he does not have the right to ask for the ring back. If she ends it, then yes, she must give it back.

Beyond that, anyone who thinks this show is, even for a moment, real needs to wake up. It's as fake as can be.

  19. littleoleme, that's only in a small number of states. it's generally true that a ring is given in contemplation of marriage. if the the marriage does not proceed, the ring goes back to the person who purchased it.

  20. I actually feel bad for her, and he's a complete dick for going through with the engagement. Reality Steve posted that there was another woman a few weeks ago and tried to contact her so that she would come forward. It looks like she was contractually tied to US Weekly so that she could get paid.

I thought both Reid and Kiptyn were great. Call me a loser if you want, I watched the whole season and was hooked.

A bump on the road. Keep saying that to yourself.

  22. I hope they do a special episode of Cheaters.

  23. She should keep the ring...I'm a lawyer and the case law on this is all over the map.

I think the fact that he didn't even purchase the ring (the show probably did) likely makes this a special case. For him to get the ring under these circumstances would be like rewarding his fraudulent conduct with a windfall.
