Anne Heche Goes Anne Heche On Letterman

My caption of Anne Heche in yesterday's photos was fairly prophetic. She got me to tune into Letterman last night because I thought just maybe there might be a Crispin Glover type moment and I was right. See, she has been really good lately, but now that she is doing more interviews she is starting to crack. Last night on Letterman she laid into her ex husband. She called him a lazy ass. When asked what he does for a living she said he goes to the mailbox and waits for her check. I want you to remember they have a kid together. A 7 year old son together who might have watched his mom on Letterman last night and heard her say these things about his dad.

Later in the interview she was talking about how she hangs out with her ex three days a week which I didn't really understand at all. Something about wanting to watch him play soccer. She also said that she doesn't want to get married again which directly contradicts an interview she gave earlier this year where she said she couldn't wait to get married again. I think the difference in her answer is because James Tupper won't marry her. So, she changes her answer.

  1. "My caption of Anne Heche in yesterday's photos was fairly prophetic." - That's what I was thinking! Not in those exact words, but ya know.

Nice to know she can join the ever-growing rally of parents that bitch about their ex and alienate their kids by doing so. They that everyone feels bad for them if they vent about their ex. Instead, they make their kids feel awkward and upset, because they're stuck in the middle. Bravo.

  3. From reading the commentary prior to watching the clip, she was a lot more lucid than I was expecting. I gotta agree with Anne though; Don't ever get married! lol

  4. The judge had a reason for giving her ex primary custody of her son. And she had the opportunity to move back to LA (where her son goes to school) when Men In Trees ended rather than keeping her house in Vancouver and having a baby with her new (and married) boyfriend. I really dislike her.

  5. yikes. This does totally change my opinion on Anne Heche. She does play the slightly neurotic, materialistic character in Hung which seems more fitting to her real life personality than her character on Men in Trees. She seemed to be saying that when she divorced her ex, she divorced her son also.

  6. i thought she was hysterrically funny with the part about "I don't think my son wants to play soccer. ex just wants to be a soccer coach to be in that social status" because thats what people do!

and i'm going to not say ANY more because people from my local status group that i'll be a part of when my kids are of age, may read this :P

What is the "Crispin Glover" moment to which Enty is referring?

  8. That's not a Crispin Glover moment. That's just wacky Anne. When Glover was on -- I remember watching that live -- you seriously thought stuff like "I'm not sure this guy isn't about to pull a knife and stab Dave". It was literally unforgettable. And scary.

  9. When she was pregnant with Homer she was a guest on a show at the radio station I was working at and when I asked the host what she was like, he said she seemed like the type who had too much therapy.

  10. She is insane! I love how Dave tries to ask her about the reason for why her ex wants to see her, and for why she should see him (fishing for the kid they have together, perhaps?) and she completely ignores it...

  15. She's always like that on Letterman. They seem to have a weird type of guest/host relationship. I think Dave finds her amusing, although I laughed outloud when he asked her what she was thinking when she named her new baby Atlas.

  16. She said she DIDN'T want to spend 3 days a week with her ex. She was totally weird on that show last night. I'll bet Ellen is breathing a huge sigh of relief

  17. Dulcinea- If you google/utube the video of Crispen on Letterman you will see what he means. It is assumed he was on something which made him blabber on quietly to himself about himself then he took out a bunch of magazine articles about himself and complained that they weren't true, he then got up and tried to show Dave that he could kick high (while wearing 4"platform shoes) and nearly kicked Dave in the head. Dave eventually had to leave the stage.
It was so sad. I laughed my ass off, but then I felt so bad at the same time. So awkward.
I haven't seen the video in a while, but that is what I remember.
