Today's Blind Items
Talk about high school. This television show on a non traditional network is headed towards a meltdown. It turns out that one of the bigger stars coming into the show has been basically ignored since the middle of last season. Unless there are lines being spoken, no one talks to this actor. He hasn't pulled a diva or done anything wrong, it's just the rest of the cast doesn't seem to like him or maybe it is something about him. It has got so bad that he just wants off the show and out of all their lives.
High school is right. Could it be 90210 - who plays the dad/Principal? Rob Estes.
ReplyDeletethe only guess i have is Jimmy Smits on Dexter just because of the timing of when he joined the show and that he was already an established actor previously....
ReplyDeletewait, didn't Smits leave the show already? Dexter got rid of him. jeeeez, it's been so long since last season ended.
ReplyDeletei'm officially taking back my guess. brainfart.
Jimmy Smits seems way too nice anyway....PBS even has him host their July 4th special. And I love him - ok, so I am biased.
ReplyDeleteThe Hills - Brody
ReplyDeleteWhat qualifies as a non-traditional network? I'm Canadian, so the 'network'/'cable' other stuff always throws me.
ReplyDeleteThe show is Degrassi: the next generation on the N. The actor, I don't know.
ReplyDeleteSomeone from that show Greek on ABC Family? I dunno.
ReplyDeletemlovesny - but does anyone start on Degrassi with prior experience? I thought most of them were new actors?
ReplyDeleteThe non-traditional network confuses me. Network is "over-the-air" and would include PBS, ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX, TheCW, and MyTV (which is more of a syndication package).
The silent treatment is really rude. Just openly hate the dude, it's kinder.
I'm liking the 90210 guess, and Kellan Lutz (Twilight) from on it isn't he? I don't watch it so I don't know how much he's on it.
@ Eddie
ReplyDeleteI was thinking Jesse McCartney on ABC Family's "Greek."
The only problem is that it is a college setting - Enty references high school- and he is a guest star so he probably only signed on to do a few episodes.
Jeff Goldblum?
ReplyDeleteDuck on Mad Men?
ReplyDeleteProbly not, just throwing it out there.
I'm thinking this is Bailey Chase on Saving Grace. Because all of a sudden, he hasn't had that many lines. OMG, and I would be so upset. If it were true.
ReplyDeleteDN - that would explain the silent treatment. Jealousy is an awful thing.
ReplyDeleteBenjamin Bratt
ReplyDeleteI have no guesses. Just want to say I miss Dexter and will miss Jimmy Smits on it.
ReplyDeletenot-traditional network? that would be fox or pbs. is the cw considered traditional?
ReplyDeleteeep...no clue about bi, but how sucky for the actor...poor dude.
i'm with Shakey.
ReplyDelete90210- Rob Estes
If I was starring on a tv show, I'd wish goopy was on it and then I'd get everyone to ignore her. heh.
ReplyDeleteJeff Goldblum. He just joined Law & Order: CI and it show's on USA network now. Plus he's a pretty big star for that show.
ReplyDeleteBut Goldblum just showed up about 6 episodes or so ago, this person has been ignored since middle of last season.
ReplyDeleteI was thinking someone from Gossip Girl, just couldn't say who. Penn Badgley? Considering Westwick and Crawford live together it wouldn't be them (and if Ed Westwick is being ignored he can come sit by me)
I'm sure I'm wrong, though.
DK about the high school reference, but I thought of Denis Leary on FX's "Rescue Me." Cos there's something about him that I don't like. Plus I think he chain smokes so he'd stink :-/
ReplyDeletedenis doesn't smoke anymore (i love him). even when his character quit smoking, his character didn't pick it up again, unlike the drinking.
ReplyDeletei'm totally addicted to "rescue me"!
i think non-traditional network refers to anything above abc, nbc, cbs, fox, wb, you know, the stuff anybody gets.
i think we're talking extended-- scifi, usa, fam, tnt, fx, comedy central, lifetime, what ever all is covered in what the cable companies call "tier one".
what shows are in mid season in that range? my faves are either just beginning or about to end.
What about Wallace Shawn in "Gossip Girl?"
ReplyDeletethis isn't nice. since his costars can't pinpoint a reason for their dislike, can't be anything else but jealousy.
ReplyDeletepeople suck sometimes!
Love Denis Leary too and he usually hires real life friends.
ReplyDeleteBenjamin Bratt is the star of his own show so I don't think it's him.
To DNfromMN:
ReplyDeleteFirst, Hi and I'm from Mn as well. Second, I have no idea if any of the actors have prior experiences. I haven't watched the show in a long time now. So, I really wouldn't know. But I don't think it's a teen or tween show, it has to be more adult. Maybe one of the shows on HBO.
Bionic Bunny is right:

You could conceivably throw in HBO and Showtime, too.
I really like the Jeff Goldblum guess. Or maybe Wentworth Miller on SVU?
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear Denis kicked the habit.
ReplyDeleteStill don't like him :-)
You guys can have him. I'll take Aaron Eckhart (he gave up smoking, too, but he's better lookin') hee hee
JG appears drunk so maybe he's being avoided because of stench? Just asking...
ReplyDeleteChace Crawford: Gossip Girls. He just moved out of the place he shared with Ed. Wants out of the show, out of their lives.
ReplyDeleteMark-Paul Gosselaar - Raising the Bar on TNT
ReplyDeleteWow. I really don't know what this guy did to deserve that kind of behavior. I realize Enty said they dislike him for no reason, but that unwarranted silent treatment is just harsh.
ReplyDeleteHigh school never ends. People suck.

INCONCEIVABLE!
lol
they were probably jealous that this person was already a know star. idiots. when their run on this show is over they will have their turn at being treated like shit.
ReplyDeleteNon-Traditional=LOGO the gay channel, (as in non traditional marriage...)
ReplyDeleteI think it's someone from "The Secret Life of the American Teenager" on ABC Family. It's set in high school, and the clue mentions getting "out of all their lives".
ReplyDeleteLOL @ whole_lotto_ luv! Wallace Shawn's character in Princess Bride was one of my favorites!
ReplyDeleteABCFamily is a non-traditional channel...could it be someone on Greek? I love that show.

ReplyDeleteI want to ditto 9a- Chace Crawford. Moved out of his place with Chuck/Ed and his character on the show doesn't seem to have much going on lately.
ReplyDeleteHe wasn't a known star though, and has been on the show from the get-go...hmmm
Greek hasn't really had anyone new except for Jesse McCartney as a guest and that guy who played Max but seems to be gone...
Wow I look like such a loser right now for watching these shows.
Maybe Danny Devito on It's Always sunny in philadelphia?
ReplyDeleteMy hunch says Chase Crawford...didn't he win People's sexiest? And, he hasn't come out, but he is trying to "maintain" his image? Moved out of the apartment, diva comment (people think he's gay, but always say he's more down to earth than Zac). He just popped into my head. Plus, you see the others palling around, but not him.
ReplyDeleteTristan Wilds on 90210? He was a pretty big deal when the show started because of the success of The Wire.
ReplyDeleteChace definitely.
ReplyDeleteHis pretty is the only reason I watch GG.
warmislandsun-
ReplyDeleteYou are 100% right on Jimmy Smits, he is the NICEST guy you'd ever meet. I knew his daughter and he came to visit her, so I met him. He's a total class act, and he is one of the very, very few celebs that I make sure to go see in the movies and watch on TV. There are so few celebs that are worth a damn so I like to support them when I can. Voting with my dollars, capitalism works!
