Taylor Momsen Gives Good Quote
Say what you will about Taylor Momsen and I will say a lot. She resembles my vision of death and looks about 20 years older than she actually is. Combine that with the strangest "illness" of 2008 and you pretty much have a mess on your hands. She does however give some great quotes in an interview, especially for a 16 year old.
She is in next month's Teen Vogue and judging by the quotes they ended up using from her, I'm guessing there were many. many more that were probably unprintable. I would love to see the transcript from the actual interview.
"I live a very adult life. What am I going to do, hang out with high school kids? I just can't relate to what they talk about – it seems so petty." Taylor graduated from high school two years early. I think that she was in the middle of those exams when she had that "illness" last year. She does live an adult life. There is no 16 year old I have seen who goes out more with adults than she does. She isn't sneaking into clubs with a fake i.d., she is going to places where no one is younger than 30.
In the interview she says that she has had "lots of relationships." Normally when I hear a 16 year old say that I say, that is sweet, but I think she actually means it like you know, umm an adult would say it. Think not? How about this. "I would eat a boy my age alive."
To me that seems like perhaps she has been around the block a time or two or even the whole neighborhood. Not in a sexual way. I'm not saying that about her. I just think that she definitely has way more life experience than I had previously thought and seems very self assured.
Oh, and about her new look. "I'm pretty, but I'm not, like, a pretty girl. I saw a Joan Jett photo and I went for that look. I know people were a little, um, taken aback. But it wasn't me that changed – it was just that I decided to start being myself."
She is winning points with me. Still looks like death though.
god it never ceases to ANNOY me that these clubs cater to the "celebs" - ummm these people are underage and the clubs should lose their liquour licenses for even letting them in the door.
ReplyDeleteOk rant over - as you were.
Growing up too fast always turns out so well for people. One pic of her mom explained everything about her to me. As you say, Enty, at least she's being honest about it, unlike most of our other favorite trainwrecks. Did you hear the latest? Ashton Kutcher says Mischa Barton is "doing great." Uh-huh.
ReplyDeleteLike I said about Lindsay back in the day..."Where are this girl's parents?"
ReplyDeleteThat's what happens when the parents are employees of their cash cow. They won't say no to anything as long as the checks keep coming.
ReplyDeletereading those quotes makes me so sad.
ReplyDeletei'll bet they'll make her sad too in about 10 years.
You can tell you've been reading Enty a long time when you can read an article on another site and know it's going to be addressed here. I saw this on Kneepads' website first, thought for sure Enty'd have something to say about it, and sure enough, here it is. I love it!
ReplyDeleteWhat she has and what Lindsay and Mischa don't is insight, and that goes a long way to living a healthy lifestyle.
ReplyDeleteI see her being more Drew Barrymore, and less Tatum O'Neal.
While I didn't go drinking and drugging at that age (well, really, ever), I did find myself hanging out more with older people. Even now, my closest friends are all 5-10 years older than me.
I see rehab in her future. Wise beyond her years or not.
ReplyDeleteI think her "illness" was rehab-related, and she'll be lucky if she doesn't go back.
ReplyDeleteThe Hollywood of today is really no different then ole Hollywood, except today's young stars are ruling the roost, while in the past the stage parents and studio bosses controlled what and where the young stars were seen and heard. As stated above, these kids are providing a glamourous lifestyle for not only themselves, but for their parents, and their parents arent going to stop milking the cash cow!
ReplyDeleteShe looks smacked out.
ReplyDeletewhere are her parents? poor girl
ReplyDeleteStrange illness. Is that a another way of saying strung out?
ReplyDeleteShe's adorable, and I love her even more for being secure enough about herself that she doesn't have to play the role of "pretty girl" irl. As long as she learns from her past dalliances, then wisdom will follow.
ReplyDeleteThe public story about her illness was that she had a life-threatening throat infection.
ReplyDelete"She thought it was just a common cold, but was advised to see an ear, nose and throat specialist before getting on a plane back to New York."
Momsen went to a doctor and found out it wasn't just a cold, but that she had a life-threatening throat infection. She immediately sought treatment.
Cedars Sinai Dr. Shawn Nasseri said in a statement: "I have been treating Miss Taylor Momsen for the last few days."
"She has been hospitalized for a severe, potentially life-threatening throat infection since Sunday."
"She has been an excellent patient, and after aggressive antibiotics and medications, she is expected to make a full recovery in the next three to five days."
Momsen, according to US, is in "unbelievable spirits".
So with this Joan Jett comment is she outing herself?
ReplyDeleteSounds like Tatum O'Neal at 16, and not Jodie Foster at 16. We know how that worked out.
ReplyDeleteI miss Cindy Lou Who.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like a pint-sized Courtney Love.
ReplyDeleteWhy when Hayden P. says similar stuff, she's an idiot, but when Taylor M. says it, she is winning points with you? In this interview she says she's an ARTIST. Say what?
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, she's just like the other self absorbed, sick kids in Hollywood.
