no more strange or cuckoo than if someone had, say, a total Medieval decor (armors and swords everywhere...), or, oh, I dunno, a 'Sanrio' room? I think an Alice in Wonderland theme would be totally cool for a young person, especially if she's of an indie background. ;)
It's not that weird. Theme rooms and theme houses were a big deal with the suburban mom crowd I knew a few years ago. Several women had Winnie the Pooh houses and I know a man with a Coca Cola room.
I don't see why this considered weird, either. If anything, it sounds, at the very least, creative. Too many people think beige is normal these days.
I'm biased, though. Alice in Wonderland is my favourite childhood story. If I'd the money and the space when I was younger, I'd have loved to have an Alice themed room. Or, you know, a Charlie Bucket chocolate room.
Seeing as Tim Burton is doing his own version of Alice for a huge release next year, cornering the market in memorabilia is a smart move. The girl playing Alice, Mia Waziaka (that's wrong) is Aussie and still under the radar, but it could be her. Anne Hathaway is also in it, but she's a star, not a starlet.
Isn't that why we have our own homes, so we can express our personal taste? So what is she wants to live in Wonderland? She'll probably grow out of it. Could be worse - she could be tearing the heads off kittens and puppies or breaking the spiral horns off unicorns...
I love Alice in Wonderland and can't wait until Tim Burton's movie comes out. However, I wonder if it is Evan Rachael Wood. I don't like her one little bit because I find her desperately un-original, creepy, and she takes it up the hiney. (*shakes head in disgust)
doesn't anyone remember the show "monster house"? i SO wanted them to do my house! this isn't weird at all, and despite her other weirdo tendencies we forget how young EVR is. hell, when i was a teen, i painted the entire scene from my blue willow china (that i'd been collecting all my life) on my bedroom wall, and it was gorgeous! and having been a seller on ebay before, i can tell you, there's a lot of money in collectibles. i'd take my disney discount (shhh! it was a no-no), and turn it to a huge profit on ebay.
Eh, honestly if I had the money, I'd do something immensely dorkier, like have an entire Lord of the Rings themed room, complete with a round hobbit door.
I don't know, but that sounds like one creepy house.
ReplyDeleteShe is a cuckoo monkey!
ReplyDeleteGotta be Parker Posey. Or that girl Marilyn Manson dated for a while, the one who isn't Dita.
ReplyDeletejenna malone?
ReplyDeletethe "twilight" girl?
Anna:
ReplyDeleteEvan Rachel Wood?
Chloe Sevigny? I can totally see her doing that.
ReplyDeleteI don't see anything wrong with this. In fact it sounds kind of cute.
ReplyDeleteWhoever she is, she young and just likes Alice in Wonderland. She can decorate her place any way she chooses to.
It's harmless. :)
pomme - I don't think enough people would recognize Jena Malone these days.
ReplyDeleteI think Parker Posey has to be too old to be considered a starlet these days.
Evan Rachel Wood sounds about right.

ReplyDeleteI think it sounds cool. I have always wanted a Mayan jungle/temple theme for my house. The bedroom in Penelope (movie) was really cool, too.
ReplyDeleteGreat, now I have the mental image of Marilyn Manson sitting on top a large mushroom trying to convince people to share a hooka pipe....ewwwwwwwwwww.
ReplyDeleteI hope I never become the kind of person who has theme rooms, unless it's for a kid. It just seems exhausting.
ReplyDeleteWendy got it!
ReplyDeleteGood job.
These blinds are not even blinds, really. Just stupid info with the name taken out.
Give us some dirt, Daily News!
I don't care who it is, that's hilarious.
ReplyDeleteAt least it's not Hello Kitty. We all know that's in Mariah's house.

ReplyDeleteSomeone trippy.
ReplyDeleteHey! Taking it in alternate places can be pleasurable for both partners, Lisa(o)!
ReplyDelete@Sue Ellen Mishkey
ReplyDeleteThank you! I couldn't remember her name or even what she'd been in...

bionic bunny, that sounds really cool. I wish I had talent to paint a room like that.

ReplyDeleteThere may be more than one, but Tom Petty's daughter Annakim Violette's house is a work of art, filled with vintage Alice In Wonderland memorabilia
ReplyDeleteSo would I, Kiradris!! I'd do Rivendell.
ReplyDeleteOooooh Kidaris; A Hobbit house, YES!
ReplyDeletemight be cuckoo but i'd love to live there
ReplyDeleteJenna Malone is the first person that came to mind. .
ReplyDeleteSorry, Parker Posey is 40. not a starlet.
