More On The Steve McNair Murder
Earlier this week I posted about the murder-suicide involving Steve McNair and his girlfriend. I thought I would do a followup post because over the course of the week the police have gathered some very interesting information. When I say interesting, I mean juicy.
For those of you who are just coming into this, let me give a quick recap. Steve McNair is a former NFL quarterback who was married with four boys. He had a girlfriend on the side who was 20 and she killed him while he was sleeping. Not that killing someone isn't being angry, but listen to this description given by the Nashville police. "And we believe that Kazemi shot him in the right temple, then shot him twice in the chest and then shot him a final time in the left temple."
She wasn't taking any chances was she? This was a gun she had purchased the day before the killing. Apparently she thought that Steve was cheating on her, but at the same time also thought she was moving in with him and that he was getting a divorce. The day before the killings was a busy one for Sahel Kazemi. She got arrested for DUI. Then, after being bailed out of jail by Steve spent some of the next day following the woman she thought McNair was cheating on her with other than his wife. She then posted on ad on Craigslist trying to sell all her furniture. Her family says it was because she was going to move in with McNair. Does anyone think it could be because she knew she was going to kill him and herself? I kind of got that impression.
Then, later that night she and Steve went out. They came home and he fell asleep. She killed him and herself. This is made for tv movie stuff right here. I also think we can expect this to show up on Law & Order next season. Just a guess.
The video below is Kazemi getting pulled over for DUI the night before the murder/suicide.
Unfortunately, there are a lot of naive women like Sahel who are willing to buy the idea that a man will drop everything for them, instead of realizing he's only after them for the tail. One should never confuse a man getting action with love, but it happens allllll the time.
ReplyDeleteMen ... you need to be a little more upfront about your intentions, because women get attached and think all kinds
Been there myself, and it SUCKS to realize you're being played by a pawn. It's sad it had to come to this, and I feel very badly for everyone involved in this situation.
Here's another strange twist - the bodies were found the following morning by his friend. His friend saw Sahel laying on the floor and Steve on the couch. He WALKED RIGHT PAST THEM - to the kitchen. He thought they were sleeping. It was only after he came out of the kitchen that he saw blood. This leads me to believe that the sight of women sleeping at the feet of Steve McNair was not out of the ordinary.
ReplyDeletewhen will mistresses ever learn, they rarely leave the wife (cheaper to keep her) and married men who cheat have several 'side pieces'.
ReplyDeletemy sympathy is for anyone related to those two.
"She then posted on ad on Craigslist trying to sell all her furniture. Her family says it was because she was going to move in with McNair. Does anyone think it could be because she knew she was going to kill him and herself? I kind of got that impression."
ReplyDeleteReally? You got that impression? Stick with the ol' day job, because you would never make it as a PI. What's the point of selling your furniture (as opposed to giving it away in a last gesture, something people who know they're going to die typically do) when you won't be around to collect the money?
Sorry I am a conspiracy theorist and believe they were killed by a professional and made to look like a murder suicide. First of all, all those shots and NO ONE heard anything?!?! Which would mean a silencer was involved. Now the average person doesn't know about using a silencer, that's what most killers for hire use as their m.o. I think the wife knew and had them killed or somebody did.
ReplyDeleteThat's interesting Montana - when my hubby and I first heard about all this he said - well where was the wife when all this happened?
ReplyDeleteWould they be able to tell from the wounds if a silencer was used? I have no idea about any of that.
I also heard in the news this morning that she tried to kill herself in a way that would cause her to die on his lap. She was unsuccessful, but thoughtful. We're going to find out she had untreated mental issues I'm sure. The news also reported that the luxury vehicle was in both their names and she was concerned about making payments. Her friends stated she was distraught over financial worries.
ReplyDelete^^^i would never accept a car from anyone and it's not paid for.
ReplyDeleteCheaters, please take a closer look at your Mr. or Mrs. Jones. There are lots of wackos out there.
ReplyDeleteIronically someone did threaten to kill him earlier that day or the day before. Someone else scorned.
ReplyDeleteHe gave her a car that wasn't paid for? What a jerk.
ReplyDeleteI'm leaning towards hit man also. Makes sense. She wouldn't post her furniture if she was planning this. But then, how do you justify her buying the gun. Hmm.
I feel for his wife, Mechelle, but I have to say, ANY WOMAN who marries a professional athlete (or up and coming athlete)is an idiot if she thinks he's going to remain faithful. I'm sure there are some faithful pro-athlete husbands out there, but not many.
ReplyDeleteTo Montana - I also thought it was a professional hit. I won't be surprised if that comes out eventually.
mcnair supposedly had a rep for drugging female's drinks.
ReplyDeleteanother story about cheating married men is how one mistress, i knew her, was with her lover for at least one decade. his wife dies, and the mistress thinks she's next in line for wifedom. dude marries another woman. i felt sorry for the woman of course. she wasted ten years of her life that she can't get back.
I read that she was upset that Steve was cheating on her with another woman. Kind of ironic, isn't it? I'm going to ignore the fact that your're married, since your're cheating on her, but I don't want you cheating on ME.
ReplyDeleteIt's what happens when you fool around...
It was reported that she claimed she was high when she was pulled her over for the DUI. Perhaps she was still feeling the paranoid effects of whatever she was on when she pulled the trigger? Perhaps, too, she realized that while they spoke of him leaving his wife and her moving in with him, it finally occurred to her that he actually had no intentions to do do so(leave wife) combined with her suspicions he was cheating on HER. I would think that all of that combined with her looming financial troubles and being the tender and limited relationship and life experience age of 20, that could all kind of mess with you to take impulsive and drastic action. Plus, it was either July 4th or July 3rd, so perhaps folks either weren't home in the complex or thought the sounds were fireworks.
ReplyDeleteOh, to have been a fly on the wall for their final night out conversation.
I do have to wonder about her state of mind in allegedly staging the area so when she killed herself she would fall into his lap to die (but instead, she slid down onto the floor). You've just shot someone, and then you try to figure something like that out? Which makes me question if she was high on something to be so unemotional to a certain extent. Emotional for the dramatic romantic staging ("I want to die slumped in his lap...")yet, she seemed to calmly and with pretty damn good aim shot him twice in the head and chest.
But perhaps she decided that she was going to take control of the situation: if she couldn't have him, no one could have him, and her final act of taking control of the situation was to take him out and herself. I think there are still more details to come out from all of this.
I think he also just had a baby girl with his wife, whom I feel extremely sorry for. She was just going about her day-to-day, she probably knew he was cheating, but didn't think too much of it. Then suddenly, he's gone. I can't imagine her grief.
ReplyDeleteMontana... have you considered becoming a PI? Very interesting theory...
ReplyDeleteFor the families of both of these people, peace to them and the kids.
ReplyDeleteWith a situation like this, there are millions of what ifs, coulda shoulda and woulda's. And I am sure that they are all wondering if they could have done something to stop it.
On the Hollywood note-This is seriously something out of Fatal Attraction or one of the many many woman scorned movies. Its not just phone calls or pictures sent to your spouse anymore.
I suspected from the beginning that the girl was the one who shot him than herself. Especially if she found out he wasn't leaving his wife to marry her.
ReplyDeletei seem to recall reading somewhere (lord knows where, but it has stuck with me) that in spite of what movies and books tell us, that many rounds fired with a single silencer would not have been "silent". most are only good for one or two shots, and there were 5 total fired, so the fifth would have been as loud as a regular gunshot.
ReplyDeletei also seem to recall that some silencers (maybe this was only the home-made variety) DO leave material behind.
if it did happen on july 4, that makes more sense that people didn't hear, at least to me. even though anything not labeled "safe and sane" is illegal in my neighborhood, all the idiots have high caliber illegal fireworks. i couldn't have told the difference between a gunshot INSIDE a house from the noise in the street.
just a thought.
i'm not exactly doubting this was murder/suicide but i would like to see a diagram of how this happened. she shot him in the right temple, then the chest, then the left temple. was she walking around the body? was he facing straight forward?
ReplyDeletethen, she sits down by him and shoots herself in the right temple---but the only gunshot residue and it was just a trace---was on her left hand, not her right. she apparently falls off the sofa instead of to the side and ends up on the floor.
i don't know....i'd just like to see them reenact that so i could understand it.
Audrey, I completely agree with you. NO woman should marry a professional athlete and think he's going to be faithful. Same for higher-end politicians. No way.
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of which, I think it's fine to fuck around--if it's open and everyone agrees to it. It's called polyamory, and I bet pro athletes could find women willing to go for that.
What bugs me is not the multiple sex partners, it's the LYING. yuck.
Montana- good theory except that they know she bought the gun two days before. if it comes back that she didn't have gunpowder on her hands, you might have something.
ReplyDeleteShe didn't need a "real" silencer to muffle the noise. There are a few homemade household items that can be silencers & that could do the job just as easy. I find it strange she shot him in everywhere else but the spot that got him in trouble. If he's cheating and using her why not the groin.
ReplyDeleteI feel sorry for his kids because this is how Daddy is going to be remembered. That one of his "other women" killed him in a fit of jealousy. What a shmuck!
I just can't bring myself to watch that video. Too morbid. And, I feel her family deserves some privacy.
ReplyDeleteI can live my life to the fullest without ever sseing that video.
ReplyDeleteSteve McNair:
For giving a 19 year old girl false dreams when all you realy wanted was some young poontang-
