"I'm Not Used To Having Options"

I told myself I was going to take a break on the Jon Gosselin thing for a few days. You don't have to read it if you don't want to, but I just had to say a couple of things that were on my mind. Does this Hailey Glassman person have a job? It doesn't look like she does, so I am wondering how she is paying for the rent on her new apartment in New York which is just two blocks from Jon's place. Are her parents paying it or is Jon footing the bill? If he is dumping another $60K in rent money down the drain for her, than I can guarantee he isn't going to have anything left for the kids.

What burned me up the most though was in this interview Hailey gave to People, she said this of a conversation she had with Jon.

"I'm a huge believer in not controlling someone," says Glassman. "I'll give my opinion but tell him to do what he wants to do. He said, 'I'm just not used to having an option.' I told him life is about options."

Yes, I agree, life is about options. BUT, he had his options extremely limited by the choice he mad to have sextuplets after he already had twins. At that point your options in life are going to necessarily be limited. He got very lucky by having a television show and not having to take his lazy ass to a job everyday. But that television show is going to end at some point and the money will stop rolling in as fast, if it keeps rolling in at all. This money being dumped on ridiculous amounts of rent is an option. A better option would have been to spend much less money on rent and save it for the kids. Life is about options, Jon just keeps picking the wrong ones and it is his 8 kids that are going to suffer.

  1. THANK you Enty! This is exactly what I've been thinking: Dude, you are not a footloose kid. I can't imagine why twins weren't enough for you, but whatever, you tried for and got a litter. Options: closed.

I hate it when people get married too young and then later try to make up for that period of time they lost and end up looking pa-fucking-thetic.

  2. enty, can we PLEASE get a blogwide ban on this dipshit?

  3. I think it is particularly funny that a 23 year old is teaching him these life lessons about 'options' and other stuff. She sounds rather full of herself for someone who doesn't seem to have accomplished much, and I think it would be funny if she wound up pussy whipping him like the old ball and chain.

I do think she has great comedic potential and we can expect more nuggets of wisdom from her.

  7. Yes, let's listen to the woman who passed out in a potted plant.

  8. He also had the option to put his foot down and not let his children be exploited.

No ban, I get all kinds of amusement from these people.

  9. Speaking of bans, I just realized that I'd forgotten about Octomom (until I started thinking about litters). She's really fallen off the pages, huh?

  10. I have always been unabashedly on Kate's side. I recognized his lackadaisacal nature years ago when the show went on the air, and while I cringed everytime Kate got out her broom, I could totally understand why she was such a seemingly difficult woman. The guy was and is a zero, absolutely the ninth kid, and he seemed to be begging for her to treat him as such. Now, you have this pathetic, fame-hungry whore basically getting her digs at Kate by saying that Jon isn't used to having options. I'm sorry, but it's obvious that she's trying to ignite something with Kate to keep this whole media blitz going and to prolong her five minutes.

I hope that going forward, whatever Kate gets from her books or whatever goes solely to her and the children. She seems smart enough, I bet that plan is already in place.

I'd be okay with a ban on these people though. It isn't natural for me to get so worked up over people I have no vested interest in.

  11. I agree with Valerie Enty~ let's not waste ANY more of our valuable time on this waste of space.

  12. Enty is soooooo right. We all make choices and Jon made his a long time ago, and has continued to make them all along the way.

Interesting that Hailey is the one doing the talking for Mr. Professional Victim. Oh no, she's not in charge.

  13. Kate sucks and Jon sucks. End of story. Looks like Jon's sucking more and more each day. I feel as though the quote you used in this example seems a bit curtailed. The one I read on Dlisted made it seem as though Hailey was pointing the finger at Kate for being a controlling bitch.

I agree with you guys that his options are limited, since his kids should be his first priority, but that doesn't excuse Kate's controlling behavior. Trust me, I think this guy is like buying douche in bulk at Sam's Club. Or Costco. Whichever.

His options really aren't limited, because nothing seems to be stopping him from doing exactly what he feels like doing and kids be damned.

    I hate Jon Gobbelin.

  15. It really is odious how their children are the entity that made them famous, yet the majority of the dipfuck dumbwads who actually care about these assholes are the same people who probably hardly ever consider the children. Please stop caring about this a-hole. Thanks.

John is a selfish douche, and Kate is a narcissistic twat. They're both equally shitty.

At least there are eight little Gosselins (I always think of goslings ::sniff::). They can stick together. *sigh*

  16. LOL for real at John "Gobbelin."

    So true.

  17. Emerging from longtime lurker status
Everyone deserves happiness but not at the expense of others
Jon needs to grow up, finish the divorce and then pursue other "relationships"
Kate needs to go away - maybe Tunisia or Ethiopia - but off tv
Those kids always look so unhappy, it's sad. I hope TLC cancels this trainwreck soon

  18. Scooby is liking this Hailey more and more!
It seems like she really "gets" Jon—really knows and appreciates his person-hood.

And only 22? Perfect. She has a long reproductive life ahead of her and can finally give Jon what he's always wanted—the ONLY thing he's ever really wanted: a large, stable, loving family.

  19. I don not like John but Kate will always be worse no matter the media spin. Anyone who denies their child a sip of water yet takes some for herself deserves nothing but hate in my eyes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bjohryb6xAU

  20. Can someone please sterilize both Jon and Kate?!? PLEASE!!

    ReplyDelete
  21. Please for the love of all that is Holy ban Jon and Kate!!!!! These publicity whores should not be rewarded for being terrible parents anymore. I would rather have a speidi story than them and that is saying something. Literarly these two make me close whatever I'm reading immediately.

  22. can someone fill me in on the original background of the kids?
were the twins IVF? and why the 6? did kate make the demand?
somebody post a link or something, because as stupid as jon is being, what handful of episodes i've seen over the years, kate has always been the bitch from hell. i'd tune in, see some situation and think, oh, she's stressed, but this isn't fun enough to watch.
i don't see him as much of a milquetoast as just a guy that was railroaded, and i wonder if he was railroaded into the other batch of kids. from what i've seen, he loves them. and daddies should play with their kids. she doesn't seem to play or be very loving with them.

what the hell he's got wrong with his head now, i don't know. if he's an IT guy and always been a geek, then it's the attention (ahem. i know an awful lot of these guys. they do stupid things when they think women want them). i honestly think he doesn't have a clue.

also, i've asked this before, but how old is he? and does he have a degree, or is his background from a tech/trade school?

again: NO BANS. i hate them, but the psychology of this fascinates me. i'd say ban them from television, but how else are those children going to have what they need?

  23. it's clear that the readers here span many generations based on personal ideologies, particularly between different females.

    just an observation...

  24. Jon had options from the get-go, as we all do. As far as I can see, he opted to sit back and let his wife make all the decisions and nag and berate because it allowed him to be lazy and pretend he had no responsibilities.

Now, he's exercising his options by living in a different city than his kids (wonder who had their lease in place first, him or Hailey?), giving interviews to trash rags after having publicly said "no more interviews" and dating one bimbo after another, all while he is still technically married to his kids' mom. Bottom line: This is a guy who makes REALLY BAD DECISIONS. Any grown man who'd let a druggie 22 year old speak for him is clearly NOT and never will be an "alpha male".

Also, what's up with the incessant insults that always seem to be related to vaginas? It's on overload lately.

  25. Jon, you can't turn back time, so lay off the martry complex and stop feeling sorry for yourself.

The young girlfriend has no idea what marriage politics are and really has no idea what she's talking about. She's just a reactionary girlfriend who is the opposite of Kate -- the rebound.

As for the kids, hopefully Jon will continue a loving relationship with them; otherwise they will blame themselves for the divorce.

i used to occasionally watch to show when it first came out and the story is this: They had IV for the twins and their family was great. Then after a couple years, they decided to try for 1 more child, did IV again and found out that all 6 embryos were successfully implanted. (apparently that is a rare occurance- usually only 1 or a few are viable).

    ReplyDelete
  27. You said it perfectly.

    ReplyDelete
  28. I can't believe I know this. They didn't have IVF. They did the procedure where the ovaries are stimulated with drugs and then the semen is put in the uterus. It's different than an embryo transfer like Octomom.

I hope the show is pulled soon. I don't believe any children belong on reality shows.

  29. I hope he spent some of his BIG money on a vasectomy. Does anyone else see him living in a box behinde the Best Buy dumpster in a year?

Jon an option? You have two be a good decent father or continue to be a HUGE walking talking tool. Please remember Karma is that train you see coming down the track you are presently on.

  30. What grates me is how Jon and Kate have parrotted the line for so long about how when they tried for a third child--and wound up with six--that "reduction" (i.e. selective abortion) of the pregnancy was never an option. They BOTH said it--it's "their story." It wasn't just Kate saying that they could/would never abort any of the six (out of seven) viable fetuses. Our personal views on abortion and reproductive technologies aside, this was the choice that they BOTH have said repeatedly was theirs and theirs alone.

Now these children need their parents, who haven't been there for them for huge chunks of their lives. And this sorry excuse for a man, much less for a decent human being, is bitching about "options?" Please. He made his bed years ago and is just pissed now that he finally realized he would have to change the sheets once in a while. What a pathetic asshole.

  31. Jon and Kate are both wastes of breathing space. I used to be on Team Jon. Now I'm on Team 8.

Dude, it was your choice to get married young and have kids young. Is all this partying worth it? Don't think so. You're dating a 23 yo party animal who looks 40. No need to elaborate further.
