Blind Items Revealed
February 19, 2009
What surprisingly prolific heavy metal artist/television host and reality star (we Americans only know one song, really and one very famous cover photo) rearranged his schedule to attend the wake of a 24 year-old fan, because he heard that the deceased's wish was to have him play at his funeral? He played the piano in the corner for over four hours, shook everyone's hand, and mourned with everyone as though they'd known each other for years.
Andrew WK
Yay...I think I actually got this one.
ReplyDeleteI love this one. Thanks for the reveal.
ReplyDeleteHe is such an amazing person.
ReplyDeleteI got teary when I originally read this BI, and teary again now. How very sweet of him.
ReplyDeleteneve heard of him but what a nice thing to do
ReplyDeletehe is such a sweetheart. i've always heard nothing but good things about him! wish i liked his music lol
ReplyDeleteyeah, had to look him up but good guy
ReplyDeleteIt always makes me happy when I see stuff like this.
ReplyDeleteWho's Andrew WK?
ReplyDeleteThis one makes me really happy.
ReplyDeleteCourse, this is mentioned in his wiki so I'm not sure how much of a "reveal" it really is...
ReplyDeleteWow, I missed the original post, but what a truly sweet thing for him to do.
ReplyDelete*off to google this person*
I remember not thinking it was Andrew WK because of the "heavy metal" description. I am sensitive about that sort of thing. But yeah, what a good guy!
ReplyDeleteit's funny because this guy is so crazy on tour! he's a very nice person!
ReplyDeleteWell I didn't think it was going to be someone in Metallica.
ReplyDeleteAndrew WK seems like a sweetheart I have seen him on some reality shows.
i don't know who this is, but @ idiot watcher, remember, wiki is updated by anybody. which is why it's not always the most reliable source.
ReplyDeleteI am older than dirt and don't know who he is, but to play for over 4 hours. Good Karma to you AWK.
ReplyDeleteI've met him before, and he's a really nice guy. I can totally see him doing this, and it makes him even more awesome imo.
ReplyDeleteThis is the nicest thing anyone could do. I am blown away!
ReplyDeleteHe has always seemed like a cool guy, but now this makes me want to go out of my way to support him when possible!
ReplyDeleteI remember Andrew WK's reality programme on MTV (the last thing I ever saw on that channel, but purely as a coincidence) and he always came across as a goofy but genuinely kind-hearted kind of guy. I am so happy he's staying classy, even if his music got to be a bit repetitive (he has but two songs in him, I'm convinced). It's weird that such a seeming frat boy type would in actuality be a role model other famous people should follow.
ReplyDeleteI had friends who toured with him at some point years ago and they said he was seriously the kindest and most generous person they had ever encountered. It's nice to see that even years later he is still such a genuine and giving individual.
