Ben Widdicombe Blind Items

Which household-name NYC designer, who has dressed and befriended that unbelievably hunky, married, singing-dancing actor, is telling pals that actually yes, he is indeed gay?

  1. Don't know any designers, but the actor must be Hugh Jackman.

  2. Marc Jacobs/Hugh Jackman?

  3. Wow, this is an obvious one... HUGH JACKMAN.

  4. Michael Kors & Hugh Jackman? Household name b/c of Project Runway.

  5. Hugh Jackman is awesome straight or gay. I love the photos of him with his kids. He just seems like a nice guy.

  6. Really? Is it fair to out someone like that? Don't get me wrong, we all know but still, isn't that his decision? I'm new to this, but it seems wrong. Well, regardless, in my mind, my chances of "hooking up" with Hugh Jackman are the same as before 0%. :) I'm cool with that.

  7. Could Isaac Mizrahi be the designer? He has a clothing line at Target, which would make him pretty household-name. As for the actor, I agree - it's gotta be Hugh Jackman.

  8. I'm not doubting that Hugh could be gay, and I don't really care, but... this also sounds like a really catty thing for the designer to do. Is he saying it just to get attention and make people jealous, because it infers he has a very good reason to know why the amazingly hunky man is gay.

It would not be unlike that blind that ran a week or two ago about the D list actress starting rumor that she was having an affair with a married actor, just to get attention.

  9. Wow...say it isn't so. Hugh Jackman gay? Oh man!

I'm gonna trust Hugh's statement in interviews. He and Deb seem to care for each other. And those kids love both of 'em.

    I'm gonna say, Hugh's bi.

And Mizrahi has always been known to talk without thinking -- even when wrong. So I'm hoping he's wrong.

  11. he and deb may have an agreement. for her benefit, she gets to spend his moolah. she also may not have much of a sex drive.

  12. Missus... Mizrahi, really? You don't think Hugh would have better taste in men? ;)
If indeed Hugh swings that way, I'm gonna guess he goes for the fitter man, I'm just sayin'...

  13. that queen should know better if it is Isaac! tsk tsk.

  14. It doesn't sound like the actor (let's face it, it's Hugh) and the designer had anything other than a friendship...

  15. Donna Karan and hugh jackman - they recently did an event together

  16. I think Hugh's bi as well. And I couldn't care less! I still love him.

  18. Agree with warmislandsun. It's Hugh's and his wife's business. Plus he's so likeable it doesn't matter anyway. Unlike Tommy Girl.
Now, about that catty little bitch of a designer......

  19. Lisa (the orginal), ITA with you.

  20. You know, it could be John Travolta....we automatically assume it is Hugh, but John is still considered pretty hunky and fact is, he has been talked about for years.

  21. I could care less if it's Hugh. As long as he's with a consenting adult, who cares whom he exchanges bodily fluids with.
He's still pretty to look at and he seems nice. I am still
    Team Hugh.

I don't think it's cool for the designer to OUT him. He/She might be a desiner but that's just gauche.

  22. what would be really good is if it was Daniel Craig (doing Broadway show)and the designer was Tom Ford.

    Scandalous! ;)

  23. I'm amazed not one person said Matthew Broderick.

  24. Dijea, probably because Matthew Broderick is far from "unbelievably hunky."

  25. Hugh was up my way last weekend (or maybe the weekend before??) for a wedding. Some of my daughter's friends crashed the wedding and spent most of the evening with him until they got thrown out. He was super nice to them, didn't hit on them, and was attentive to his wife.
The blind still might be him, but he really seems to be a good guy who shouldn't be outed like that.

  26. Ya know, if it is Hugh, I just don't care-by all accounts, he's a nice guy, who loves his kids AND loves his wife (even if he isn't sexually involved with her). He's nice to fans, does all the work to promote his films. He's just...someone who needs to be left alone. Seriously, if it does come out, we need teeshirts that say "Who cares" or something. I'm annoyed I even commented, but I just love HJ and newsflash Hollywood-us women think men can be super sexy and hot even if they aren't interested in us so let them live their lives!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  27. I actually read this as it was the designer who was coming out, not the actor.

Maybe it's the punctuation OCD that I have, but between the commas is parenthetical and could be lifted out without changing the point of the sentence.

That doesn't mean I have a guess, but I'm just saying I think the blind is about the designer.

  28. Gay. Straight. Don't care - he's my hero because of the way he cares for his kids.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Has it occurred to anyone that the designer may have tried to hit on the actor and got rejected, and is now lying to spite him?

    Just sayin'.

  30. With Hugh, that seems totally believable. Homosexuality is not a big deal "rumor"...even when people are married/"closeted"...it's their life, their business. No?

  31. I would lick Hugh Jackman six ways to Sunday if I could. Gay, straight, married, bestial--I simply don't care. He is sex on a stick.

  32. City Councilman Doug....I'm with you on that one!
