Yes, I know lots of actors make movies, but talking about Alexander Skarsgard's new movie gave me a reason to post a picture of him. Now the e-mails can stop for a little while. You have your Alexander fix. Alexander is set to star in Straw Dogs which is a remake of the 1971 movie with the same name. James Marsden is the lead and Alexander plays Charlie who is described as grizzled and athletic.
The story is about a Hollywood screenwriter who encounters bloody threats and conflict from locals in a small Southern town after he and his wife move there.
Interesting remake. Not sure about the James Marsden thing though. That guy kinda sucks.

Man I love True Blood! And once again, they got ripped off at the Emmy noms this morning.

ReplyDeleteThis hunk has single-bodily reversed my runaway train to menopause and reved up the estrogen flow again. Vampire Eric's 1000 year old blood truly IS a magical elixir.
And in every interview, he's cool and humble. Hope he can keep his head as his fame grows because I think this guy is going to be a huge star very, very soon.
Not only did 'True Blood' deserve an Emmy nod, but Alexander definitely deserved a nod for his work in 'Generation Kill.' After seeing the real Brad Colbert on TV and comparing him to AS's portrayal in 'GK', I was even more impressed with Alexander's work.
ReplyDeletePlease, let this movie not be a total dog. I'm not sure about the James Marsden thing either, but the kicker is Kate Bosworth. Kate Bosworth?? Her part involves some pretty harrowing stuff; it's certainly not a puff part.
ReplyDeleteAhh, Alex. I've never seen him perform poorly in anything and like Little Miss said, in every interview he comes across as incredibly normal and committed to doing a good job. No ego on that one.
That being said - HIS BODY! Holy crow, his body.
Why does he trip my gaydar? I want him to be hetero just to satisfy my mental cravings, but something about him seems...decidedly anti-girl. Just sayin'.
ReplyDeleteKat I totally thought the same thing. But whenever family or marriage is brought up in interviews, he makes it clear he's straight. Not that people don't lie about that kind of thing, but still. I believe he was voted Sweden's sexiest man around 5x so surely if he were into guys, it would be well-known there. They're pretty open about that kind of thing.

Shakey it had to do with the screenwriting credit, or something to that effect. It was back in the early-mid 90's.
