Today's Blind Items

This foreign born C+/B- list mostly movie actor with one very famous television role loves using the "N" word because he thinks it makes him look cool. This lasted about ten minutes on the set of of one of his very recent movies. Upon hearing it, his co-star and fellow C+/B- list mostly movie actor punched our foreign born actor and knocked him out cold. He didn't use the term again the entire movie.

    *waits for guesses*

  4. I'm going with Dominic Monaghan and Liev Schreiber. Only because I love Liev Schreiber and don't really care for Dominic Though I don't know if Dominic's role on Lost is "very famous." The show is, but I'm not sure about the role.

  9. Wilmer was born in Miami.

Sasha Baron Cohen (Ali G being the famous TV role)? But, it reads like this was sort of a one-off type of TV thing, rather than a series based around the guy. 'Course he's probably been beat up for entirely diffent antics anyway.

    That's all I've got.

  13. LOL at Ms. Leigh.

To others--there was someone on the blog on Friday night who was dropping the N bomb everywhere. He also directed venom at some of the CDAN readers, including Ms. Leigh. So I think that's who she is referring to...

    ReplyDelete
  14. hah, yeah that's who i was talking about. i don't wanna feed trolls so i'll refrain from name dropping. ;)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Would Dominic really use the N wword? I always thought he was better than that - and still hope he is.

    ReplyDelete
  16. It says "very famous television role", that doesn't cover Ali G., IMO.

Is it just me or is anybody else ready to pee their pants waiting for the reveals? This is going to be a long week.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Ms. Leigh -- I wanted to ask you if that was your baby? That photo is ADORABLE!!!!!!!!!!!

  18. Me too Califblondy!

I am coming up with nothing for this BI, but that's not unusual.

  19. jonathan rhys meyers? he's done mostly film but is best known (in US) for 'the tudors'. has a film in post and one currently in production.

i'd absolutely hate, hate, hate for it to be him tho. :(

  20. Hell yeah I am pissing my pants in anticipation for reveals. I hope we get the juicy reveals. We always get the kindness, but I want the bad.

  24. Alexander Skarsgard of True Blood fame and a few movies. He was working on a movie in NYC with Mickey Rourke a few months ago. But I don't if you can reach a guy who is 6'4 to knock him out.

    ReplyDelete
  25. Alexander is a really sweet, normal guy. In his interviews he shows he's a really decent, respectful person. I doubt he would do such thing, and I really doubt Mickey Rourke would punch him for that.

    ReplyDelete
  26. No. Do not drag the True Blood honey's in this mess. No way! LOL

    ReplyDelete
  27. LOL my bad, trust me I love Alexander to death. Was just making a guess, and a bad one at that.

    ReplyDelete
  28. Apple, do you read or post on IMDB True Blood board?

I loved Eric in the basement with his hair treatment.

Glad Lafayette lived, but I was so sad for him when he got home pulling the afghan over and crying.

    ReplyDelete
  29. @Apple

    LOL

I like him too and I've fallen in love with him. I saw an interview with him the other day, the interviewers were just simple girls who do this podcast about Eric, or True Blood IDK, and he was so sweet. And they weren't from a big media outlet or anything. He gave them extensive answers, being cute, polite and serious about it.

And that's why I don't it's him trying to be cool by being offensive.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Yes Sas, I do, LOL i guess I'm a little to fixated on True Blood lately!!!

    ReplyDelete
  31. See, Enty? You can post some Alexander photos every now and then. We have some True Blood fans here :)

    ReplyDelete
  32. It's not Jonny Rhys Meyers. Just can't be. Say it isn't so, Enty!

I have no idea who this would be, I but doubt it's JRM. Wondering who Ms. Leigh is referring to though... do you mean 'Max'?

This leads me to a question, and I hope you won't be offended, Enty. This 'Max' poster made a comment last week that I thought was actually a pretty fair statement: if you ARE an entertainment lawyer, and have as much experience and connections as you seem to have... why are you asking for donations for something you could easily afford? I'd really like to know the answer to that question. Thanks.

    ReplyDelete
  33. colortura, there were multiple "identities" throwing terms around this weekend so i didn't keep track of what came from which name. the one you mentioned is included tho.

as far as ent goes, he mentioned the reason why in the post asking for donations and i think it's legitimate. i don't see why he'd have to lie about his job just to make the site seem credible.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Apple, if you don't mind. Who are you on IMDB?

    ReplyDelete
  35. @ Ms. Leigh... you think it's legitimate for an entertainment lawyer who is rolling in it to ask for $6500? That's chump change to a well-connected, well-paid entertainment lawyer. Enty seems like a nice enough fellow... and his Friday night 'love you all' posts are particularly endearing... but this doesn't add up. I happen to know a little something about his line of work and something is setting off my shit sniffer. (Sorry, Enty.)

  39. colortura, i simply don't feel it's necessary to make assumptions about ent, his career or his income. especially in this economy, nobody is making what they used to/should be/what we think. so until i learn more of his job (which sorry, i'm not interested in doing) i'm going to pass judgement.

if you enjoy his site, and it appears as such, you would have no problem donating a buck or two to keep it going in the same quality. if you don't enjoy it, meh... keep going. i'm only speaking for myself, of course.

    ReplyDelete
  40. OMG, I love Vampire Eric. It canNOT be Alexander Skarsgard! Like others have mentioned, by every account, he is a decent, humble, and respectful man. I also doubt that he's insecure enough to use a racial slur to feel cool. He's been named Sexiest Man in Sweden 5x, for heaven sake.

Eric's absolutely stealing the show this season.

    ReplyDelete
  41. oh now i feel horrible for bringing up Alex's name. It's not him, it was just a dumb guess.

Alex is always kind to his fans and even respectful to the papparazi for cripes sake.

I deserve to be chained in the basement of Fangtasia for my crimes against Vampire Eric.

    ;-p

  42. @Ms. Leigh... sorry, I don't give money to lawyers. Unless absolutely necessary. And as ol' Enty himself noted, it was not obligatory.

Not sure if 'enjoy' is the right word for what I experience on this site... lol... and as I said, I'm not so much passing judgment as paying attention to what I know about the film industry and those who are in it.

Nice try at a guilt trip... but sorry, ain't feelin' it.

    ReplyDelete
  43. LOL way to take what i say too seriously, colortura. guilt trip? c'mon, if i was trying to guilt trip you, there would be puppies involved ;)

so you don't feel like giving money to a lawyer, that's great. some people here don't have an issue with it, that's great too. tomato, tom-ahto.

    ReplyDelete
  44. @Ms Leigh... it still don't add up in my book. Nothing against Enty, I do like some of the posts. But I'd still love to hear him answer that question.

    Whaddya say, Enty?

    ReplyDelete
  45. apple you still here?

    ReplyDelete
  46. I think at one time or another each of us has wondered or asked if he is a true Ent Lawyer and the answer has always been for all or most of us that he/she is. If not, then someone close in the Hollywood industry. We all accept that and are fine with it.

We like the fun of it and each others comments. except for yours weirdo.

  57. Personally, i don't care if Enty is a man, woman or vegetable, i love coming to this blog every day and reading something a little different, something that hasn't been trotted out on countless other sites. As far as the donation goes - why should he have to cough up that insane amount of money, when essentially what he is doing is a hobby? I had no problem giving some money to help him along because i enjoy coming here and was glad i could say 'thank you'...

As far as the multiple personality poster is concerned, he is despicable and i hope he never comes back... I know, i know wishful thinking - but hope springs eternal!

    ReplyDelete
  58. somehow, i don't think idris elba, who is black, would be using the N word and then having some guy knock him out for it. don't see it.

Guesses? Um, no...I don't have any. Sounds like a douche though. Good for the co-star.

  60. Doubt it's Dom Monaghan, mostly because he's at least as well known for the LOTR films as he is for Lost.

Other than that I got no clue, don't watch much T.V.

    ReplyDelete
  61. Anonymous10:03 PM

Joshua Jackson (born in Canada) as the offender. Co-star who punched him was... Laurence Fishburne or Nick Cannon on the set of "Bobby." IDK, I got nothin.

  62. well, colortura... i personally don't mind if it doesn't "add up". having all the answers about ent is irrelevent cuz this is a blog about celebrities & not one single "entertainment lawyer". ent is wonderful, but that's not what got me coming here to start & it's his opinions and writing style that keep me coming back, not his occupation.

  67. Yeah, saying "nigger" deserves a beating, but it's OK to say "cracker", "honky", etc.

In my experience, blacks are quite a bit more racist, and openly racist, against white people than the converse.

I'm waiting the day when racism by black people is taken 1/10 as seriously as racism against them.

    ReplyDelete
  68. @ coloratura

Wrong to assume that all lawyers are raking it in. Most entertainment lawyers in LA are at small-ish firms, and they don't make as much as you'd think. And being a small-firm lawyer myself, with student loans coming out my a$$, you'd be surprised how poor lawyers can be at times. Sure know I couldn't cough up $6,500, especially not to support a hobby.

    ReplyDelete
  69. Got it! Ricky Gervais, total dickhead, tries to be cool, right status, one famous TV role - David Brent. If the film was Night at the Museum 2, the co-star could be Hank Azaria.

Sasha Baron Cohen must be A list by now, his films make mega bucks.

    ReplyDelete
  70. Come on, does anybody really believe Enty is a hugely obese, 6 times married lawyer who lives in his mother's basement? Who cares?

This blog still rocks, it doesn't matter who writes it.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Why thank you, TheMan, for saying that. Here in VA, a white guy got a year prison term for calling someone the N-word, but you just know that if the situation was reversed, absolutely NOTHING would be done. No jail time, and the "victim" would be just crucified in the media, because as you know, only whites can be racist.

Sadly, I doubt we'll see the day when ALL discrimination and racism is taken seriously amd treated equally despite skin color, but it would be awesome if we could have the same standards for all races, because I fail to see how ignoring racial discrimination and bigotry against one race (and it does happen, I have lived it over and over) does anything to further true equality in this country.

And punishing people who weren't even alive when institutionalized discrimination was being practiced in the U.S. is asinine, as is giving special treatment, protections, and consideration to people who aren't being discriminated against (except in their own minds). It's just idiotic. But hey, at least those white firefighters won their lawsuit, so maybe people are getting sick of the double standards, hypocrisy and constant demands from people who get every possible perk, handout and special consideration (ie affirmative action) at the expense of others. Two wrongs do NOT make a right....

    ReplyDelete
  72. Oh, and not to defend this guy saying the N-word, but he's not American so maybe he got confused. After all, blacks DO call each other "nigga" all the time, and do not give me that shit about it being different than the "N-word", I will never believe it. If that word offends you, then the simplest solution is to not say it at ALL! Just more double standards...shit is getting ridiculous!

    ReplyDelete
  73. Oh I know, you all are so right, those negroes are just so uptight!!!

LOL at a man in Virginia being sent to prison for saying the N word...I will bet you my life savings that never happened. Please link me to a single article about the case. Are you confused, did he maybe say the N word and then also stab someone?

And good point about "cracker" and "honky" because those are two words I hear allll the time (never).

Please stop congratulating yourselves on seeing the world as equal because your comments reveal your hidden biases that are apparently concealed to even you. Blacks in America deal are constantly reminded of their "blackness"...especially with comments like "black people always..." as if every single person in that race does and says the same things. You are extremely ignorant and you're embarrassing yourselves.

  77. I'm a lawyer. I've been a lawyer for 12 years. And I couldn't come up with $6000 today without taking out a loan.

Don't blithely assume that all attorneys are the Monopoly Man with our monocles and our cigarette holders and our 40% interest in Park Place and Boardwalk. I do just fine, but I'm not rich. There are garbagemen and mechanics who make 30-50% more per year than I do. There are also attorneys who make a lot more than I do -- but they're the exception, not the rule.

    ReplyDelete
  78. I'm glad I live in Canada and not America. I would say racism, in general, is worse there than it is here. God, we're awesome.

  80. Ryan Reynolds, punched by Betty White. Just saying.

Also: Coloratura, are you going to bring up Enty's true identity, salary range and request for photo fee donations on every single comment thread? You may know a little something about being an entertainment lawyer but you don't know anything about giving it a rest. If you would like to correspond with Enty, you can do so privately and leave us out of it. Thanks much.

    ReplyDelete
  81. You must be living in Michael Moore's Canada according to 'Bowling for Columbine'... Canada less racist? I don't know why you have that impression but it's not better here. If at all there is a difference, it's perhaps a bit better hidden and distributed among the various ethnic groups.

I love how you got jumped on for making a very logical statement. For what it's worth I happen to agree with you on the whole Enty asking for money thing. I do not know of a single other gossip blogger who begs for money, let alone one who claims to be an entertainment lawyer. Something IS very fishy with that, but so be it, right? Not as if he can be getting much work if he's ratting out clients and potential clients I guess.

    ReplyDelete
  90. I don't think Ent begged, I believe he asked. There's a difference.

    ReplyDelete
  91. WB--the "very logical statement" was actually completely illogical. She expressed the hope that the n-word foreign-born celebrity wasn't Jonathan Rhys-Meyer, then said she didn't know who Ms. Leigh was referring to--could it be "Max"--and then said "speaking of Max" and went into the whole donation song and dance all over again.

Another gossip columnist who "begs for money" (actually he doesn't beg, you just have to subscribe) is Billy Masters at www.billymasters.com. I subscribe. It hasn't killed me. I'm sure there are others out there. Personally I'm happy this site isn't littered with Adsense ads and other such nonsense.

And as I said before, no one's stopping you from writing Enty directly and asking whatever you want to ask. Harping on to all of us about it in the comments is boring, unnecessary and rude.

    ReplyDelete
  92. David, I think I'm in love with you. :)

    ReplyDelete
  93. I'm a regular here and I didn't give any money and that was my choice. It's nice for those who did, but I didn't. When Ent asked for charity picks, I didn't weigh in because I didn't donate and don't feel like I should have a say.

Recently I gave to a local family who had a experienced a horrible tragedy. I'd probably do the same here if someone had suffered a loss. Pitching in for pictures? Not so much, but that's my choice.

I like coming here and will continue to do so. When I first checked out the site I was curious about Enty's identity, but after all this time, I don't give a shit. I'd rather just play along with the fantasy.

  97. megan-

Thanks for your opinion. No, really. Yours is the socially acceptable one, and mine isn't, so I should just shut the hell up because I'm a troll, right? God fucking forbid anyone not jump right on the PC bandwagon. Jesus, some of you are so self-righteous and so intolerant of opinions that differ from yours, but you're the ones I should strive to be more like? HAHAHA NO. Seriously, get over yourselves. I deeply disagree with many of you, but I'm not calling you names....but I'm the problem. Great logic!

Also, I have personally seen, in the past year, two different black women scream "honky" and "cracker" at two different white men, without any provocation or reason. I have seen ZERO of the opposite. In fact, I have never seen any white person call any minority a name in my life, but that's just my personal experiences and I'm such a hatemonger (lol) that I'm sure no matter what I saw it would be misconstrued because what could I POSSIBLY know about racism, being white and all?

As for a link, I heard it from my mother, and I am trying to get a hold of her to ask where she heard it or saw it. As soon as I find it or get it, I will be sure to post the link.

    ReplyDelete
  98. Anyone else think this blind is not a story that has actually happened, but something Spike Lee is trying out on us as the potential plot of his next sh!tty movie? Maybe we're supposed to be some kind of test audience?

    ReplyDelete
  99. Meghan well done, was about to write similar thing but you put it perfectly. The day the world is equal we'll all know it...and maybe some people will actually sit through a whole history lesson and even learn something about European ancestors and all the countries they've taken over.

Back to topic haven't a clue which idiot said it but I think his black eye will prevent him from thinking it's cool Lol!

    ReplyDelete
  100. Why can't we all just get along?

    ReplyDelete
  101. I'm 99% sure that Enty is NOT an obese (or at least not the 400 pounds he claims, ha) guy divorced many (4? 6?) times living in his parents' basement.

I believe he's an entertainment lawyer, but he's also a comedy writer of sorts. And that self-description is just some very amusing self-deprecating humor.

As for the fundraising for pictures, who cares? If you don't want to donate, then don't.

    ReplyDelete
  102. Ok, apparently my mother heard it on a DC morning radio show, the guy called in and was talking about it. he hasn't been sentenced and it's in Richmond, so I will continue to look because here in the DC area we don't really hear much Richmond news. So that's all I know as of now but if I find proof I will post it, if not, I will apologize.

    Snipsnapper-

I certainly hope you aren't insinuating that I don't know anything about European history, because I absolutely fucking GUARANTEE you that I know more about it than like, 95% of the population. And you know what? I'm STILL not ashamed, nor will I ever be. Everyone else is allowed to feel pride in the accomplishments of their ancestors, except for us. If you are European and you allow anyone to make you ashamed of your ancestors, heritage and history, then you are a fool and there is no hope for you.

    ReplyDelete
  103. Jeff-

We cannot all get along because apparently some people cannot believe that anyone could possibly have an opinion that doesn't exactly match their own. Nor do they respect those differing opinions, even though I guarantee if you asked them, they would describe themselves as the most tolerant, liberal, accepting, "anything goes" kind of person. It would be funny if it wasn't so very, very sad. But what do I know, I'm just a troll, right?

Where the hell kind of bubble do you live, woman?!?!

Fuck me, i hear the N word at least once a week, and i live in a TINY town in England. That doesn't even account for the amount of times i hear OTHER racial slurs (none of which i've heard directed at white people - and for the record, i am as white as casper).

What tickles me is how you preach about equality when you are SO obviously a bigot. And FYI Europeans also have a very shameful past of slavery and barbarity - even longer than you do funnily enough ho ho...
It horrifies me what humans thought justifiable in the past, and i'd be a happy bunny if that level of brutality/ignorance never happened again. Just because that kind of shit was deemed okay then, doesn't make it okay now.
Seriously, you are proud of your/our heritage?!
Also, i'm pretty sure i can speak for most/all of the blog when i write - no one cares about your right-wing agenda. Please don't make every post you can about your seriously disturbing issues (you know you only do it to cause a reaction).

What's that i hear? Is that a bridge calling?!

Honestly, your little "news story" sounds like a trail of bigoted people stroking each others' biases so they can all be like, "See?? SEE???" with little regard to fact vs. fiction. It sounds like a game of telephone.

You have your opinions and you will not see eye-to-eye on this with anyone who disagrees with you, and part of my even participating in this is to address an issue that really angers me. I'm aware that people think like this, but don't ever have a forum in which to voice my opinion. I'm taking out my anger about this on you particularly, and for that I apologize.

All I ask is one very little thing; please do not use a "story you heard" as a factual and informed representation of ANY situation in order to prove a point. Not only does it perpetuate stereotypes but it severely weakens your argument and the legitimacy of your point of view.

Um, about the blind, elsewhere they guessed Michael Cera. Not having any other ideas, I'll take it.

  108. Good guess Judi!

I can see that little one-trick-pony saying the N word to seem 'hip'. Try hard of the worst kind.

I'm liking Jake M. Johnson (Paper Heart), David Cross (Year One) or Steve Buscemi (Youth in Revolt) for the puncher. All from 2009 films, so the "on the set of of one of his very recent movies" clue fits.
I would go more with YIR because it only comes up as 'completed' on imdb.
