Today's Blind Items
What aging but not really old Academy Award winner/nominee A list actor recently had a heart attack and passed out but refused to go the hospital. Instead, he had his doctor come to the house and hired a nurse to watch over him for a few days. He even went to a sporting event three days after it happened.
Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Michael Douglas or Jack Nicholson-that man LOVES LOVES the Lakers...
ReplyDeleteOprah!
ReplyDeletekidding, kidding....
Jack Nicholson
ReplyDelete"Sporting Event" makes me think Jack Nicholson
ReplyDeleteeep, that's so dangerous and stupid!
ReplyDeletei wanna jump on the nicholson train...but he's 72...that's def old by hollywood standards.
hmm. the douglas guess sounds on target tho!
Dustin Hoffman
ReplyDeletehe was recently at a BBall game
i think we can say Nicholson is "old" now.
i like the Douglas guess too though
ok, define old. nicholson is 72. i call that old, rather than 'aging.' i guess it's all relative.
ReplyDeleteIt's Denzel Washington:
ReplyDeletehttp://www.tmz.com/2009/06/10/denzel-loves-the-lakers-lakers-love-him-back/
Yeah, Nicholson is past the aging part IMO. I would say 50ish for "again, but not old".....
ReplyDeleteMichael Douglas is up there. It's hard to tell thought since he and the Missus aren't truthful about her age. Didn't they make a big deal about him being 25 or 30 years older when they got married? I don't think she's ever gotten out of her 30's, so that keeps him in his 50's.
ReplyDeletei also tought on Michael douglas or Jack nicholson but they 're more 60.So i like the it's Just Me idea :Denzel washington!
ReplyDeleteMichael Douglas is 65, Denzel is 54.
ReplyDeleteI like Denzel for this.
Has Denzel been doing the press rounds for Pelham 1-2-3? Or has he been laying low?
Perhaps he's been laying low since he had a heart attack...hee-hee.
ReplyDeleteIt makes perfect sense for this to be Denzel. He's in the news lately, is an Oscar winner (Glory, Training Day) and nominee (Malcolm X, Cry Freedom, The Hurricane) without a doubt A-List and his age is not too old but *almost* up there by Hollywood standards. Lives in L.A. and is a huge fan of the Lakers.
Bonus: his character in The Bone Collector was bedridden and had a nurse by his side at all times.
Tom Hanks?
ReplyDeleteThis is Det. Alonzo Harris (Training Day) - Denzel Washington.
ReplyDeleteI like the Denzel guess.
ReplyDeleteNicholson and Douglas don't pass my sniff test for "aging but not really old"
He didn't think it was serious enough for the hospital, but hired a nurse? Makes me think he lives alone. If it had also included "skanky" I would guess Billy Bob, since he had heart problems before and I think is a baseball fan. But I guess he's B list at best.
ReplyDeleteI know everyone thinks Nicholson is old rather than aging, but I don't think he's old. He's not Bob-Hope-looking-like-death-in-a-wheelchair old. So I'm on the Nicholson train.
I know Billy Crystal has hosted the Oscars, but has he ever won one?
ReplyDeletedenzel was on the mtv video awards recently introducing his daughter and presenting an award. i don't think he fits the bill.
ReplyDeletedenzel was on the mtv video awards recently introducing his daughter and presenting an award. i don't think he fits the bill.
ReplyDeleteI think this fits Denzel to a T.
ReplyDeleteDoes "watch over him" have some sort of hint in it? Denzel, I think for the win.
ReplyDeleteDustin Hoffman has been at a lot of Laker games
ReplyDeletelately. Actually, one night, when they did the
kissing song, they put him and his wife on and
he passionately kissed the guy sitting on the
other side of him. It was pretty funny.
Eh, I HATE hospitals, too. If you have the money to have a house call and round-the-clock nursing care, why not? Hospitals are fucking dangerous places to be.
ReplyDeleteAnd plenty of people have mild heart attacks that don't require hospitalization.
Dustin Hoffman is 72 years of age as well.
ReplyDeleteHas Nicholas Cage ever been nominated?
ReplyDeleteHe looked ancient even in his late 20's.
This has to be someone younger than @55.
ReplyDeleteI agree with Ayesha on the whole avoid hospitals if you can afford the extra expense. Get some MRSA some other hospital bred super bug and you might be way worse off.
@shakey
ReplyDeleteBilly hasn't won and made a joke about it as Robin Williams and his Rabbi had when he hosted the Oscars, something along the line of "my best friend and now my Rabbi.."
And Jeebus! Just took the dog outside and while typing a spider crawled onto my ear, I hate Florida.
There are several "secret" hospitals in Los Angeles - Le Petit Chateau being the most un-secret. That's where they all go after they get their
ReplyDeletework done.
Denzel has been on several shows promoting Taking of Pelham by himself because John Travolta is too distraught to promote the movie.
ReplyDeleteMichael Douglas turns 65 this year and yes that is considered old.
Friggin Jack Nicholson!?
ReplyDeleteI thought Denzel considering the "aging but not old..." part!
ReplyDeleteI like the Denzel guess, however I am going w/ the Micheal Douglas train. His wife is in Bermuda. Calling the doc seems like such an "old Hollywood" thing to do. Besides 65 is aging, not old.
ReplyDeleteI think there are a whole lot more choices than the ones being mentioned. Bruce Willis, George Clooney, Harrison Ford, Mell Gibson, Richard Gere... and thats just off the top of my head.
ReplyDeleteI know that hospitals are so understaffed, unless you need surgery, you are much safer and will get better care at home in a cleaner environment.
He's smart to stay home. If he's A list, a hospital visit would have been all over the tabloids.
ReplyDeleteHarrison Ford, IMO
ReplyDeleteDude, its so Jack
