Lori Petty Tanked - Not Tank Girl

Lori Petty got noticed over the weekend. The fact that I am referencing a movie that came out probably about the time Moses was born shows what kind of career Lori has had lately. Over the weekend though Lori decided to go ahead and do some drinking and driving and managed to hit a skateboarder in the process. The skateboarder was treated at the scene and released which is a huge sigh of relief. I don't know how you hit someone with your car and they just walk away unless you are Elisha Cuthbert who is apparently a superhero.

Anyway, Lori was booked on felony drunk driving charges but considering she could have been looking at vehicular manslaughter this is a chance for her to get her life on track. Her bail was $100,000 which is huge for felony drunk driving. It should be huge. I'm not complaining, just making a remark. If you made them all that huge and people were forced to stay in jail because they couldn't make bond, then maybe we would not have as many repeat offenders. Of course none of them have been found guilty and it costs the taxpayers a ton of money to house them so you have that side of the argument as well. Something about a Constitution or something.

  1. drunk driving will never carry stiffer penalties because too many people drive over the influence and some of those folks are law makers themselves. i hope that i am wrong.

it's like..."how would i look passing a stiffer sentence on drunk diving, when i drive buzzed myself".

  2. I remember when Tank Girl came out. Wasn't she in Point Break too? Any movie with mister 'don't put baby in a corner' and matrix boy is .... worth watching:)

QS is correct, sadly. You're right Enty, she's lucky as hell that skateboarder was able to leave the scene on his own wheels.

  3. Why didn't she let her hair grow out after Tank Girl? I loved her in League of their Own. Sorry to hear she is a mess like this.

It's a shame she's a mess. There was this great one-season wonder of a show called 'Brimstone" with Peter Horton and she was like his advisor. I loved that show

  5. Yea...the "lawmaker comment" hits home....my sister was installed as a judge this year and at her ceremony celebration (with an open bar), most of the judges drank like fish, on my way home I wondered how many actually drove home drunk.

  9. I loved Brimstone. When will these people learn the word taxi? It's not like they live in some Podunk town. Get a cab if you have a liquid meal.
