Jennifer Lopez Makes It Easy
There are very few times when someone gives a quote that just lends itself to full on fun, but Jennifer Lopez has managed to just that. In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Jennifer was worried about all the time she taken off for maternity leave. Here is what she had to say.
"The few days before I got really nervous I was like, what if I forgot how to act?"
After I picked myself up off the ground from laughing so hard, I thought to myself that she can't be serious. I didn't realize she was known for her acting skills. When I think of people who can act her name doesn't normally come to mind. I mean she has been nominated for nine Razzie Awards. Nine of them. That is incredible. What is more incredible is that she has only won two of them which was as you may have guessed, from Gigli where she basically swept every category in which she was nominated. She has also been one of the few people ever who were nominated for multiple movies in the same year. And guess what? She has pulled off that feat twice. What is even more remarkable is that she that in consecutive years.
She forgot how to act? We can only hope that she forgot everything she knew about acting before and also wonder who is the person who decided that giving her a few million bucks was the wisest way to spend money on casting.
HAHAHAHAHA. Oh Enty, YOU (and "the actress" known as J Lo) make me laaaaaugh.
ReplyDeleteI never understood how she continues to work. She is the Latina Madonna, she can't sing, can't act but someone in Hollywood continues to greenlight her every move.
ReplyDeleteGo figure
She's definitely not good almost all of the time.
ReplyDeleteSo, is Steven Soderbergh the reason she doesn't suck in "Out of Sight?"
I just Googled +"Jennifer Lopez is my favorite actress" and got exactly 55 results. Accounting for duplicate hits, that means that there could up to 50 people around the world who consider her an actress.
ReplyDeleteIt's been a while since I've giggled so much.
ReplyDeleteBut seriously, she's got no reason to worry about her acting skills. You can't lose what you never had.
i think the reason she didn't suck in "Out of Sight" was because the rest of the cast was just so good.
ReplyDeletethat or Soderbergh made her do 80 takes on each shot until she was passable, heh.
I thought she was convincing as the manipulative slut in that Sean Peen movie. I can't remember the name of it, it's the one where Peen's car broke down in the middle of nowhere.
ReplyDeleteThat's good stuff. It reminds of when JLo dissed Madonna's acting skills a while ago talking about how she is an artist who works on her craft, unlike Madonna who is just a singer. That resulted in the famous party where Madge and Goopy left when Jenny from the block showed up.
ReplyDeleteI thought the EXACT SAME THING when I read the quote!
ReplyDelete(longtime lurker...i love this blog!)
welcome swedishfish! :)
ReplyDeletepoor delusional jenny. she always said she wanted to be a triple threat a la bette midler. well, in all fairness, she does have a sense of rhythm and she can dance, so i guess that's one redeeming quality. other than that, i got nothin'.
I guess some people just can't get over that bootyliciousness.
ReplyDeleteshe was good in Soderbergh and Oliver Stone movies.
ReplyDeleteit was very long time!!!LOL
ReplyDeleteDid she think she won Razzies because she could act?
ReplyDeleteSomebody threw money at her because people (for some unknown reason) tend to go to movies with her in it.
ReplyDeleteLOL. Oh god.
ReplyDeleteThis is definitely becoming my facebook status today.
Eh, I think she's miles ahead of Madonna when it comes to acting, sorry. I really liked 'Out of Sight', but as someone said, it could have been the rest of the cast that sold the movie to me. I don't mind her, to be honest. I've watched the 'The Wedding Planner' and 'Monster-In-Law' too many times for me to say I hate her. I don't think she'll ever come close to Streep, however, but her dramatic roles haven't been complete failures for me. That said, I haven't gone near 'El Cantente' or 'Gigli'. I don't even know what they're about.
ReplyDeleteI thought she did very well in Selina
ReplyDeleteThat. is. hilarious. Only a non-actress would ever even think such a thing.
ReplyDeletenunaurbiz-I forgot about Selena. Not a bad flick.
ReplyDeletethis is one of those cases for me where i just don't understand how someone got the career they've had. except for an ass that needs its own area code, there's not one interesting thing about her.
ReplyDeleteOh, don't be fooled by the rox that she got, she's still (she's still) Jenny from the block...
ReplyDelete...she didn't seem to be too concerned that she's forgotten how to sing, too.
Between her and Jessica Biel, it's amazing there's still room for ego in Hollywood.
I can't hate on her here especially as "The Wedding Planner" is one of my favourite guilty pleasure films.
ReplyDeleteMonster in Law was on t.v a few weeks ago and I wanted to see what it was about so i put it on. When my man walked in the room and saw I was watching a Jlo movie he did the whole "Awwwrghhhh are you SERIOUS???" and skulked off to watch sports. I have never offended him so much by my choice of t.v. (except the one time I watched Lipstick Jungle). Just reminiscing. :)
ReplyDeleteAnd Gigli was so bad I had to turn it off about 35 minutes in. I usually give all movies a chance, even REALLY bad ones, but i just couldn't do it. I really wanted to watch it all because it got all the hype about being so bad and i wanted to see just HOW bad it could get. I couldn't do it.
I usuallly like her movies. I even own a few. I'm not going to say she's a great actress, but she picks good scripts. And Monster-in-Law had Michael Vartan in it.
ReplyDeleteI actually own Maid in Manhattan. I think it may have been the kid, but I just love that movie. As others have said she was good in Out of Sight, Selena, and I also liked the one where she kicked the abusive husband's ass at the end of the movie.
ReplyDeleteI had to watch South Park's version of J-Lo again. That and the Barbara Streisand one are a couple of my favorites.
