I Don't Care. NBC Is Dead To Me
It seems as if NBC has been playing a game with everyone. A game that was designed to increase publicity for I'm A Celebrity and get people to watch instead of doing something that was actually good for the show to make people want to watch. With the news that Heidi and Spencer didn't quit the show and that this was all a big publicity stunt, I am really disappointed. Not in Speidi. They are just doing what they do best. Stupid jerks who will do anything for a dollar.
What I hate is that instead of hiring decent hosts or coming up with creative contests or making the show more appealing, NBC decided that creating this musical chair scenario would be the way to go to attract viewers. They were wrong. All they have done is make people ticked off and not want to participate in the outcome. This is a show that wants viewers four nights a week for several weeks. You do that by making the show interesting and not staging some type of stunt.
Oh, and it was all a stunt. From the fake Spencer and Heidi walking under blankets at LAX to the rumors that people were flying in to replace them on the show to Spencer asking Jesus to help NBC see the light and bring them back, it is all just one big set up job. I watched the show the first two nights but I am never watching it again. You let me know if Heidi gets bit by a snake or if Spencer turns into one.
Um, I believe Spencer already is a snake.
ReplyDeleteThere are some stunts that make me want to quit celebrity gossip. This was one of them. Why add fuel to the fire?
ReplyDeleteI told everyone not to watch this s**t!
ReplyDeleteAgain this is why i don't watch reality Tv ..it insults my intelligence
ReplyDeleteI'm shocked! SHOCKED, I tell you!
ReplyDeleteDid you expect anything less than epic master douchebaggery from Ben Silverman?
ReplyDeletewell, none of us are surprised really, but i can't help but think that all this is somehow going to (or possibly already has) backfired on spencer/heidi. they'll be detested even more now. there's no redemption at this point. they're official dbag tools. forever.
ReplyDeleteNBC should just pack it in and call it a day. All they have left now is Leno, The Biggest Loser, and Law and Order. Heroes isn't long for this world.
ReplyDeleteI think the only thing I'd watch on there anymore is Sunday Night Football...
I think I watched this a few times when it had Cris Judd, Joan Rivers, and Stuttering John and some other people on it. It seemed like all they did was sit around and bitch. Except for Judd, who did the least bitching and seemed to go around making things. I think this was not long after he and J-Lo split, so he probably got the sympathy vote. For having been married to her, I mean.
ReplyDeleteI was finished with NBC when they tried to cancel Chuck for Jay Leno.
ReplyDeleteThey have completely lost their minds.
I watched about a minute of this show the other night and I wanted to gauge out my eyes. Who are these people and why does anyone care?
ReplyDeleteSkipska, NBC also still has The Office, My Name is Earl, and 30 Rock.
ReplyDeleteI've never watched reality tv. And now I'll never watch reality tv even more avidly than before.
Facebook status from a friend who doesn't follow gossip:
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately has tuned into primetime TV for the first time in several years (besides the Office) and is sooooo baffled by these freakshows who refer to themselves as "Speidi". Has it really come to this???!!!
I wish I was as blissfully ignorant as she is.
Lame.
ReplyDeleteI watched the first episode for the trainwreck aspect of it, but that's all. I can't believe that NBC sunk so low. I hope it really backfires. I feel bad for Lou Diamond Phillips though. He seems like such a nice guy. I hate to see him involved in this shit/
Ah yes Figgy, I forgot about The Office and 30 Rock - My Name is Earl was canceled though.
ReplyDeletei didn't comment on them leaving because i thought it was an obvious set up. come on, think like they do----every move they make is calculated.
ReplyDeletethat NBC took part in it doesn't surprise me either. after all, this is the same network that said 'we give up' on providing any decent prime time programming, and are filling it with leno instead.
this whole mess gets my daily 'fuck all these people.'
Reality TV has jumped the shark, just like talk shows did in the 90s.
ReplyDeleteI think that 'reality television' needs to be called something else. The fact that they keep orchestrating things and manipulating the public feels outright insulting in my view. It's misleading, and frankly, grammatically incorrect.
ReplyDeleteWill NOT be watching this load of donkey balls.
proud to say i have missed this load of donkey balls!
ReplyDeleteand i watch some SHITTY tv people!
NBC has beed DTM since they promised Jay his own lil 10pm show to shut his whiny pie hole up.
YOU ARE NOT FUNNY,YOU NEVER WERE!
i'll give him Jay walking and Headlines, but again, only funny because of everyone else!
i hope no one watches and Jay realizes that he was riding on borrowed time.
Kat, "semi-scripted famewhoring"?
ReplyDeletewhole_lotto_luv, melikes! I think you should copyright that one.
ReplyDeleteWhole_lotto_luv: That title is dead on appropriate for those shows! I find myself yelling at the tv to these "celebrities" "You are NOT A CELEBRITY! YOU'RE NOTHING!"
ReplyDeleteThen I feel stupid, and angry at the those in the U.S. who think these p.o.s. are "celebrities". :-(
I was actually thinking of watching this show, and then they announced which celebrities would be on it. As soon as I found out Twit and Twat were in the cast I changed my mind.
ReplyDeletetalk about watching some shitty tv---i watch 'big brother.' i confess i even watch the feeds. NOT SCRIPTED!!!! it's the only 'real' reality TV out there and it's pretty fucking funny too.
ReplyDeleteLooking at the 2nd pic is anyone else having a "It's the Great Pumpkin,Charlie Brown." flashback or is it just me?
ReplyDeleteWeren't these two people already a stunt? So this is a stunt of a stunt.
ReplyDeletePffft!
Seriously doubt this had anything to do with Silverman but, for past transgressions, Sumner should have fired this guy years ago.
I loathe the person who is responsible and was never planning on watching this sh*t anyway. The only reality shows I'll watch are Race, Survivor and BBrother.
So, is there a show on tv where ordinary people send in there home movies like in Funniest Animals or something? It could be called "Americas Funniest Famewhores". Or, "Britain's Got Talent, But America's got Untalented Famewhores with Balls!", or something like that...
ReplyDeleteomg, rotfl, these people are freaks!!!
