Sheesh, I did lines in every lukewarm club in VA in my "troubled young" days...these kids are no different. AND hey have more money to buy better shit with!
Rihanna/Katy Perry? Is a singer considered to be a "starlet", though, or does that refer just to actresses? It's thrown around so often now and is so vague.
This makes me sad.... My daughter is 9 and she is beautiful.. (no really.. she is LOL) and wants to try modeling and TV and I'm scared to do that.. I mean, these so called starlets, did their parents do the best they could to raise them, and they are just shit heads or what? I don't want my kid to be like that.. I mean, I can only do so much as a parent right? Oy.. sorry..
Me, the majority of kids in the business are ones we never hear about because their parents actually parent. It's totally possible - and even common - to be successful and not a hot mess. Also, the majority of those who do drugs are not in the industry so the parenting needs to be there anyway. Your daughter could do it and be fine, and do it just long enough to create a nest egg for college. Think of all the adverts for kids' clothes. They always need kids for photos like this. Just always keep in mind - and she needs to learn this, too - it's a business, it's work. She would help sell products and the product is the important thing.

... and there's always the military to provide college *tuition* when he/she turns "18"...
