In one of the most fawning interviews ever recorded, Ann Curry of The Today Show basically just lets Brad Pitt do whatever Brad Pitt wants to do and just seems grateful that he is talking to her. After the interview she even Twittered that she got to touch his face. Who the hell Twitters that kind of thing? A fan for sure. A reporter? Not so much. She didn't ask him about the truly awful reviews his movie is getting and how it might be one of the biggest bombs ever. Oh, and the bad reviews are not just about the movie either. It is being called the worst acting job of Brad Pitt's career. Did Ann talk about any of that? Of course not. Ann just talks about what she wants to do after she figures out how to get rid of Angelina and have Brad all to herself.
NBC should be embarrassed.
what is with the stupid cary grant want-to-be costume?
ReplyDeletei hate ann curry. she's known in the industry as being really dumb. every celebrity interview she does, she does everything but lick whoever she's talking to.
ReplyDeletethis was embarrassing. i wish they'd fire this useless bitch.
Is was certainly cringe-worthy. She always fawns over Brad and Angie...it's embarrassing.

ReplyDeletebrad pitt has NEVER been a strong actor. perfect example of looks triumph ability.
ReplyDeleteQuintessential Southerner tell that to Jessica Biel
ReplyDeleteMeredith said that Brad doesn't talk about himself because he's shy. No he isn't, he's just inarticulate.
ReplyDeleteOh and Ann Curry needs to keep her hands to herself.
How embarrassing.
Titan I was thinking of Clark Gable.
ReplyDeletegood god that was awkward!
ReplyDeletejournalism 101 = do NOT touch the talent.
he looks like a pompous ass in that outfit
ReplyDeleteQuintessential Southerner: i agree. the only thing i ever really thought he was brilliant in was True Romance as the stoner roommate Floyd
"you guys wanna smoke a bowl?...oh" lol

And good god they reran that interview about every 10 minutes on the Today show. And in between they all debated whether he was wearing an ascot or cravat or scarf.
ReplyDeleteAnn Curry pointed out to Tarantino that he misspelled the word "bastards" in the title, "Inglorious Basterds." She probably felt really intelligent at that moment. I almost peed my pants laughing.
it was embarassing for every one pitt, curry, the channel and people who saw her interview! and brad pitt must change his stylist! robert redford in 70's(yes,he was so beautiful but pitt isn't Redford)out of his body!
ReplyDeleteShe's really a dumb shit. Plus she looks dirty all the time in her mismatched clothes and makeup she put on the dark.
ReplyDeleteBodie, I agree! True Romance was the best thing I've seen him do. And that was a total of what, 15 minutes?? (LOVE that movie.)
ReplyDeleteAnd if Angelina is as jealous as I think she is, this will be the LAST interview we see either of them do with Ann. What with the touching and the fawning...and Brad didn't seem to shy away from it, either. HA!
so, so uncomfortable. are there no producers?
ReplyDeleteI was a lifelong viewer of the Today Show until about 12 years ago. I stopped for only one reason: Ann Curry.
ReplyDeleteBrad's acting is hit or miss. Ann Curry's journalism is always a miss.
ReplyDeleteThis is a requirement for NBC reporters?, the art of fawning and douching up interviews.
ReplyDeleteCause I Said So: yes, it is a requirement. News Reporters are emulating Opes.
ReplyDeleteShe actually had the nerve to utter "Are you satisfied? Are you settled, Hahahaha, Look at him, he's blushing".... WTF is this? An interview? Nope, wrong answer, Alex Trebek!
ReplyDeleteI am disappointed in Ann in this transparent display of "trying to get her swirl on"! I was uncomfortable watching attempting to 'crack on" this man. Even if she did not wish to discuss the film, (as it was clear Pitt had not screened it).... She could have even discussed art, photography, shit apple trees! Something other than the diarrhea that poured out of her mouth! Even he told her to move on...Who is credited w/producing this piece? I want to know how I can become a damn producer, because this is insulting my damn senses. I have to go now, I have a letter to write to Mr. Bell.

ReplyDeleteworth pointing out: she's wearing some midriff-baring ensemble through this -- it's what all credible journalists are wearing nowadays.
ReplyDeleteI always liked Ann Curry - this was mind-blowingly BAD. Sad when your subject has to ask "where you're going with this".
ReplyDeleteI think Brad needs to get back to a Kalifornia or Twelve Monkeys-type role. Full-on crazy. He's too complacent now.
This interview reminds me of how Kevin Smith described Katie Couric when she interviewed him and (mostly) Ben Affleck. Acted like a schoolgirl.
This made me sad - he seemed like he was making a valiant effort to do his job. He was humble, lavished praise and credit and all was lost on this simpering idiot.
ReplyDeleteActing skills aside (I can't judge - haven't seen enough) he was the consummate professional.
SO inappropriate. He wasn't blushing at the end; he was pissed. I would be, too. He didn't invite her to get in his face or touch him. He was there to promote a film because he was contractually obligated to be there. He tried to be polite; she took advantage. He was harassed. Does she work for TMZ now?
ReplyDeleteI'm with you, Jax. Handshake to greet, handshake to say goodbye, and that's it.
