"You're So Hot"

With those three words, John Edwards apparently decided to cheat on his wife. At least that is the way he told Elizabeth Edwards it happened. Of course he also told her it only happened once and he probably also told her that he isn't the father of Rielle Hunter's baby and that the reception must have been bad and that's why he didn't hear the cell phone ring.

The long awaited book from Elizabeth Edwards is coming out on May 12th and as expected she does talk about the affair. She says Edwards told her right after he announced he was running for President and about a year before The Enquirer broke the story. She told him he shouldn't run and of course he didn't listen.

He must have been seeing Rielle Hunter for a very long time, but apparently despite Elizabeth crying, screaming and throwing up when she heard the news, she seems to have forgiven him. Is it because of the kids? Isn't he still seeing Rielle? How can she keep putting up with it? Maybe she thinks he sees her just because of the baby. Nowhere in the book does she talk about who the father of the baby is. To me, that means it is John Edwards' baby. If it wasn't, don;t you think she would say? Just to make that story die.

One of the reasons she has forgiven him is that, "I lie in bed, circles under my eyes, my sparse hair sticking in too many directions, and he looks at me as if I am the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. It matters." Yeah, I guess, but is he looking at Rielle and every other woman the same way also? He is a politician. He makes everyone feel good. It was his job. No one wants to vote for someone who makes them feel like crap. "Hey, I know you hate me and I make you feel really awful, but I would love to have your vote." Yeah, doesn't work like that.

  1. Smarmy, through and through, that man.

I'm all for forgiveness, but the "stand by your man" attitude sends a terrible message to our daughters. Throw the cheating bastard out.

  2. Personally, I will never forgive him because of what could have happened if he had won the dem nomination and then the story had come out. That in itself just shows what a narcissistic, out for himself kind of bastard he is.

  4. Enty, you should continue this week's theme and have all cheaters in your Four For Friday. Just send AP to the bathroom at My House and she'd have them for you within 10 minutes.

  6. that poor sick wife, who is set to capitalize on all your sympathy with a book deal and several interviews when it's released.

sorry, i have hard time mustering sympathy for someone choosing to exploit the situation for money.

  7. i feel sorry for elizabeth. she's never struck me as a doormat. they've been together for a very long time and i'm sure she's been through this with him before---i'd be surprised if this was cowboy's first rodeo.
would i kick his lying ass out? you bet. but i'm not her and i'm not going to judge her reasons for not doing that. it's her life.

Once a person cheats they never stop. He would benefit out of his wife since she is the one with the money, unless she changed her will regarding him.

She's in a place I cannot imagine. Good luck to her howEVER she wants to handle it. Denial? Fine. Forgiveness? Fine. Treat him like crap every waking moment? Also fine. Whatever...and whatever makes her FEEL best will be the best for the kids. I think. I hope...

  12. i hope she did change her will, and that it is air tight.
because you KNOW he'll fight it, and the good 'ol boy's club will let him.
and if this book embarrasses him in any way AND leaves more money to the kids, then power to her.

  13. I like Elizabeth Edwards. Her husband is the King of all Douches.

I don't know if she's so much "standing by her man" as she is trying to cause less tension to her young children. It may also be a case of better the douche you know then dying alone. He turns my stomach and she just makes me feel sorry she has to deal with his drama NOW!

  14. i think it's pretty telling that she calls riele 'pathetic' and says she invaded their marriage.
that sounds like the typical married woman who blames the other woman---instead of the guy who promised to forsake all others for her....oh, and there's also the 'in sickness and in health' part too.

but again, elizabeth's situation is special with her illness and all, so i hope she's doing the right thing for herself, even if for her, that means sticking with him.
