Rosie O'Donnell Gets Mad At Her Neighbor

So, what do you do if you live in an apartment building and your next door neighbor is a celebrity? Do you treat them like anyone else in the building? Do you pretend to not know who they are? What do you do if your celebrity neighbor gets in a "knock down, drag-out screaming match" with her wife? Well, if you are Rosie's neighbor Julia Allison you blog all about the fight and share it with the world. Rosie, of course was slightly ticked. OK, she was really ticked and has asked her neighbor to stay out of her business.

Is it getting involved in Rosie's business though? If your neighbor is having an argument and screaming and yelling with their significant other and it is carrying into your apartment they are kind of making it your business. If they had wanted to keep it their own business they wouldn't have been yelling and screaming that loud anyway.

Pretend for a second that your neighbor wasn't a celebrity and you heard this kind of fight. Would you tell your friends about it? You probably would. If there was a fight that loud, you would probably share it with someone. You might even share it with any of your friends who you think would care about what you heard. Well, if it is a celebrity, that circle of friends is more far reaching and so your blog might be the best way to share that news with everyone.

If someone had been injured in the fight at Rosie's apartment, I'm sure that Julia would have been asked to report what she heard. So, what? Because no one was injured or hurt and it was just screaming and yelling she is supposed to pretend like it never happened? That is unrealistic and Rosie needs to realize that.

When the NY Post asked Rosie's people for a statement, they got this lovely excuse. "Yes, they fought - like most couples do. Give me a break - they're fine! They're happy [but] they have four kids.

"Whatever busybody neighbor spread this around probably shouldn't knock on their door to borrow a cup of sugar - ever."

So, apparently the four kids are the reason they were fighting? Wow. Blame it on the kids for your problems or issues. Even if it is because of the kids, don't you think you could have taken one for the team and blamed yourselves. I mean, I guess there is the possibility your kids won't read about you throwing them under a bus, but if they do read it, there will be some serious back pedaling to do. To me, that is really disturbing that they threw their kids under the bus that easily.

Julia Allison is a notorious, unabashed, unmitigated famewhore of the highest order.

Had she simply shared this info with a friend or told a coworker it would be different than posting it on the internet in order to continue her last moments of pseudofame.

You may not be familiar with her exploits but we in NYC and DC are, and frankly we've tired of her crap. Check out any of the dozen or so sites who "reblog" Julia Allison's crap or spend twenty minutes on Gawker, and you will see why this latest faux pas is just one in a long line of unforgivable fame-balling.

Yes Enty I agree it is disturbing and Rosie has just lost all credibility with me as a good parent.

As far as what I would do if my neighbors argued loud enough to disturb me, first I would call the police and report it as "disturbance of peace".

If I did not get cooperation from the police "because they are celebrities" then I would also BLOG about the noisy celebrities that live next door.

All bets are off once you disturb your neighbors and make excuses for the noise.

  3. myabe if rosie doesn't want to be talked about, she should refrain from having screaming matches with her wife. i don't care who this person is---she wasn't lying about what happened, was she?

Y'all have never gotten into a yelling match with your significant others? EVER? And it's never been about how to discipline your kids? Your kids never drive you up the wall to where anything sets you off? We must have a bunch of saints here.

I'm not defending Rosie, but I think people are looking a little deeper than they need to into that statement.

Also, Rosie's normal speaking voice is loud enough to set off a seismograph, any raising of her voice is going to shake the foundations.

  5. COMPLAIN TO THE BUILDING ABOUT THE NOISE, OR CALL THE POLICE....IT WON'T HAPPEN AGAIN....

  7. Hmmm.... I wonder if Rosie would have kept quiet if her neighbors were that noisy or would she have taken to her blog to complain or if she was still or the View would she have complained about it?

This neighbor may be a famewhore but Rosie should have first apologized for the disruption and THEN commented about how it wasn't necessary to blog about it.

    That I can understand.

  9. I agree QS. Most couples ONLY argue about kids. Their kids are hitting teendom too. Brutal on celebrity kids.

  10. I'm no saint, but arguing at excruciating decibles doesn't solve anything, at least for me. If it works for you, fly at it.

More obvious in all of this is Rosy needs some Anger Management classes. She's a roge bitch for sure, celebrity or not.

  11. Most couples have a huge fight at some point in their relationship. As long as no one got hurt, it's cool.

The nosy neighbor can eat a dick, though. If she was so concerned she could have called the police. She blogged about it instead. Real admirable.

  14. My neighbors 24 year old loser alcoholic son got in a fight at 6 in the morning on my front steps with one of his friends. They got into it hitting one another with their skateboards until one got the upper hand and hit the other over the head. Out of the 7 cop cars that showed up not one of them helped get the blood off my stairs. And yes, I blogged about it. I thought the whole thing was hilarious. I think I named it "Urban Kung Fu".

If my neighbor was Rosie in that situation..oh hell to the yeah I would have name dropped..that would have made it way funnier. And I would have thrown in those 4 kids for good measure.

  15. If she had not used Rosie's name and simply made reference to her neighbors having an arguement....maybe that would be ok, but to use the actual name (and this is not the 1st time/she also twittered about their loud lovemaking) is not cool. Appears she is seeking some "fame" her self. I still don't see the need to blog nor twitter this.

  16. I know Julia Allison is evil, but if I lived next door to a celeb, I'd probably blog every time their toilet flushed, so I won't throw stones in this case.

It is absolutely not "unrealistic" to expect neighbors to have discretion about a shouting match with your spouse. Even if it happened all the time, even if she's famous, there are channels to address something like that as a neighbor.

And Rosie did not throw her kids under the bus. She just spoke generically - houses with four children produce noise sometimes. And sometimes the noise is from Mommy, who gets aggravated.

  18. ya and maybe in their 'next life' those kids will be pricesses and prnces of the fuckin orphanage they would have ended up in if not for Rosie and Kelly.

She's a dumbass. She should have sold it as a "Blind Item." If you're going to be a crappy neighbor, you may as well make some money at it.

  20. Why oh why does famewhore JA infect ALL the blogs I read?

Please, she was probably in the hallway with her ear up against Rosie's door.
