Have Mercy! Madonna Will Get The Kid. Just Wait.
Do you really think that the ruling today in Malawi will stand? Please. Madonna will be leaving that country with Mercy James. Do you remember earlier this week, Madonna was in court? On Friday Madonna wasn't in court. She knew this was going to happen, and would be the result. Immediately after the hearing her lawyer said they would appeal to the Supreme Court.
I thought the judge made some good points when he said, Madonna had not met the residency requirements. That is an open and shut rule as far as the law. Plus, he said the child is treated fine in the orphanage and she wouldn't have to wear crazy white sweat suits and pretend to like Swept Away.
The events of yesterday should have told you the fix was in. Think of today like someone getting convicted in a a country for some crazy crime that isn't against the law in any other country. All this pressure comes to bear on the government and the convicted person is pardoned and sent to their home country. In this case, The Welfare Minister stated Madonna would be getting the kid. In a country like Malawi, I think that says more to her chances than what a lower court judge says. The judge made the right decision according to Malawi law. He also said something really interesting when he said that because Madonna donates so much money to the orphanages in the country, he is sure Mercy will be treated very well. What the judge doesn't understand is Madonna holds big grudges and if for some reason she doesn't get Mercy, there won't be any more money flowing in from Madonna. The government knows this.
There is no way Madonna is leaving without the baby.
Madonna is the master manipulator of publicity, she is milking this for all its worth. She will get the kid, believe it!
ReplyDeleteBeing the Bitch that she is I am sure she will get Mercy.
ReplyDeleteI used to just dislike her, now I hate her. I don't blame the Malawi officials for selling Mercy - they desperately need that money. The blame is 100% on her. Stupid b*tch.
ReplyDeletewhat Montana said.
ReplyDeleteWhat's sad is that the Malawi government and Madonna are fakedy fake fakes, the child(ren) is/are real. And the residency requirement wasn't required for David to be adopted.
ReplyDeleteMaybe Malawi is merely manipulating Madge for more money.
I don't understand your reasoning.
ReplyDeleteYou think it is okay for the govt to sell a child....
but you blame Madonna for using all the resources that she has to adopt a child.
So I suppose it is better to sell a child, pretend that you are doing everything to benefit that child. When in actuality you really just want the money and only trying to save face b/c you don't want the govt to seem corrupt and hypocritical...even though the govt is corrupt and hypocritical.
Okay...totally makes sense.
I can't believe that you actually think it is okay to sell a child ...like seriously.
I don't even see why you would even call her a bitch...b/c she decided to use everything in her power to get Mercy....she is only doing what other potential adoptee parents would do if they had her resources.
This govt is corrupt and morally bankrupt...probably skimming some of the money.
I don't even get the hate for madonna....
I mean what has she done wrong to desreve this hate. I get that she is arrogant and I get that she is narcisstic
( how do you think she got this far ? b/c last time I checked the industry that she is in isn't for the faint of heart and totally doesn't appreciate women over the age of 40 and the fact that she is still a top draw at 50 shows that she is obviously doing something right)
but other than that what has she done so wrong for someone to hate her.
For someone who has millions, I don't understand the need to take a child from their family - no matter how poor they are - for a "better life" and to suit your own selfish needs. If you truly have an interest in a child and they have a family, support the family. Give them money, help them have a home and get them an education or teach them some skill to help them better their lives. I'm sorry, but just because you have money doesn't make you a better parent. Just look at the Hilton family and you'll see my point. While I know Mercy's life is far from ideal, I don't like the idea of some rich person coming in and choosing a child like they would a puppy from a pound. Yes, the kid will get everything she desires in the money department, but what else? I just don't see being Madonna's kid an easy task. I see it bringing thousands of visits to a psychiatrist.
ReplyDeleteLet the baby starve. As long as we don't give Horrible Madonna what she wants. God I hate rich, successful people.
ReplyDeleteThat would take some serious cojones to say no to her. Good for the judge. She'll get the kid anyway, for crying out loud she's probably hired 2nannies already!
ReplyDeleteI know it's a cliche example, but what if it were Michael Jackson going to buy a child? Not everyone who wishes to adopt a child has pure intentions.
ReplyDeleteThink about Joan Crawford's adopted children. They had awful lives, if you believe Mommy Dearest.
I like the judge's ruling but I doubt it will stand. If Madonna truly had Mercy's best interests at heart, she would help the girl's family keep her. Heck, my family lives in poverty compared to Madonna. Will she come take my daughter away?
hate this bitch.
ReplyDeleteVanessa, if she was seen spending any real time with David, I might be more sympathetic. She is buying a trophy, not a child. She also could have found a child that was a true orphan, instead of insisting on a cute one. I stand by what I said.
ReplyDeleteSomeone should explain to her that we know how old she is. Surrounding herself with young kids doesn't make HER appear any younger. Or with young guys, for that matter.
ReplyDeleteI teach in a developing country, one of my classes is made up of kids who are from the poorest of the poor part of their country, the only reason they're able to go to college is because the government set aside slots for people from their region. I'm talking most people still live in bamboo and thatch houses even though they have cold winters poor. Maybe some rich American celebrity should have come and bribed people to take them away from their families too, they'd certainly have had a more comfortable life.
ReplyDeleteEven though these kids come from extreme poverty, and even though they're attending a university where a lot of their classmates are from the rising elite and have plenty of disposable income, when I asked them in class if they thought that money could buy happiness, the answer that they gave was that family and various intangible things were far more important than money.
That's not to say that having more money wouldn't help their lives in many ways, but that's not enough excuse to take a child away from a family who's there and away from their culture.
Ummm this little girl is NOT starving(see pic)
ReplyDeleteWhy do people feel that her life will be better with Madonna?
Just b/c she is rich?
Im on board with the "I Hate Madonna" bandwagon
She has to focus the attention away from the fact that she's 50 with no man(these things matter to her) and she has to keep her name in the papers, she could give a damn about this little girl(who has a FAMILY that is in contact with her)
I hate this b^tch with a passion, children are not accessories...What judge would give a child to a woman that hasnt been divorced a year? Shouldnt she sort that out first? Does anyone else think that she's trying to fill a void? 'Cept you don't do it with kids...Vodka, yes..kids, no..
Its a shame that they operate without any real boundaries in Malawi...I presume thats why she chose the country...
I dont see how having an ice-cold mom, kabbalah teachings, long separations and all this hoopla is BETTER for this child...I just don't...
Madonna is like Michael Jackson, I wouldn't leave my kids with him either...
I am thrilled that somebody said NO to Madonna. Hope the 'no' sticks. And why does she want a four year old who has family? Why not an infant who is completely orphaned? I don't get it.
ReplyDeleteVanessa, while I wouldn't go as far as to say I "don't blame" the gov't, the person who said that was not saying it's okay to sell a child. They were saying the exact opposite, but placing the burden of the blame on Madonna for doing this. She could follow proper protocol just like anyone else, but instead she is just buying the country off. Madonna is is the iniator of this situation, the gov't the recipients. You can't accept a bribe that isn't being offered.
ReplyDeleteI know Brangelina are an overused example, but as far as the public can tell they didn't "buy" their kids. They went through all the hoops that are legally required in order to finalize an adoption. If they didn't they have one hell of a good fixer who is keeping it all on the low. Madonna needs to follow their lead - either do the shit right or at least hire a fixer who is going to make sure there's no visible paper trail left. But she's too egotistical for either of those options, apparently.
Why is the kid living in an orphanage if she has a family that can take care of her?
ReplyDeleteOh, what's that? They can't? Oh well. Screw her.
Also, I'm pretty sure Angelina purchases babies on a fairly regular basis. Don't try to tell me that she goes through the regula adoption process. Why is it OK for her? Because she's younger? Prettier?
ReplyDeleteAdopting a child from her home town in Michigan isn't fancy enough?
ReplyDeleteMadonna, be the trend-setter you think you are, ADOPT AMERICAN!
not as much ATTENTION and controversy I guess. After all, it isn't about the child right?
@captivagrl
ReplyDeleteThats too much like right, plus she would have to follow proper protocol
Instead she manipulates a poor nation
I hate this b^tch, her and Milky Gwyneth...
i could give a fuck who's adopting that child.
ReplyDeletethe judge stated by allowing this adoption to pass it sets a new precedent for other international adoptions which could open the door for international child trafficking...so fuck Madonna.
protect the children not the roided up baby snatcher.
I have a question. I might not have remembered this correctly but didn't they only let her have David because she was married?
ReplyDeleteI think this whole adopt a child is BS. Since when have we seen Madge with Rocco her bio. child?
Have they shoved him in a closet like Paris's dogs?
I don't really care if she adopts every orphan the country has. I'm just tired of hearing major news stations carry this like she solved world hunger. I don't need an hourly update on ADOPTGATE when I'm watching headline news.
As an adoptive parent myself this puts a thorn in the adoption world.
ReplyDeleteAs someone who doesn't follow the rules well Madonna should not be allowed to adopt. Period.
Exactly
ReplyDeleteWhen is the last time she was pictured with Rocco?
And if her heart is in the right place, she would be more than patient or willing to comply with the judges order
What a c^nt!
Hold On DANGIT -- Swept Away was hilarious!!! Those slugs....
ReplyDeleteShe has to follow the rules - and I hope their appeals court affirms the judge's ruling. There is no burden on prospective adoptive parents to fund other families so that they can keep/parent their children. That's up to the government to do that. Angie went through the process like everyone else. She used a south L.A. County agency. Adoptive families do not buy babies. The process has costs. Anyway, if Madonna withholds $ because of this, I'd like to hear her conversation with David about this when he gets older.
ReplyDeleteWord, Ent. You are so on with this story.
ReplyDeletePlease, forgive the last post.
ReplyDeleteI just love talking like early 1990's Markey Mark.
Word.
Here's what I'm wondering:
ReplyDelete1) why does she keep choosing Malawian children who have living parents? aren't there any true orphans there?
2) speaking of choosing, exactly how does she go about "selecting" which non-orphan to adopt? I hate to even think this, but little David is suspiciously cute. I mean, all kids are adorable just by being kids, but I mean, that little boy is especially good-looking. Please tell me that isn't one of her criteria.
1) If parents terminate their rights, the child is an orphan per USCIS requirements. Mercy's mom is deceased and her dad's whereabouts are unknown (thinking that it may be a situation where her dad is unknown). Mercy is an orphan. Having extended family members does not mean she's not an orphan.
ReplyDelete2) You'd have to ask her, and yes, hopefully, this would NOT be an issue for her. She first met Mercy a couple of years ago, and began the process of adopting her a year ago.
Malawi has a massive number of children orphaned by AIDS.
