Which multi-millionaire celeb refuses to put their hand in their oh-so-deep pock et to back our Clemmie's marathon efforts?

We'll give this Scrooge one more chance to redeem the situation - otherwise we shall reveal all.

Watch this space!

  1. since it's the London marathon i was thinking that this 'multi-millionaire celeb' must be british! first thought - elton john, but i think he's pretty generous and supports different charities. how about elizabeth hurley?

  2. But would anyone ever really expect Liz to donate to charity? She probably thinks everyone should give all their money to her just because she's so wonderful.

  3. WHO ABOUT I KNOW LONDON BETTER THAN ANYONE ELSE.....GWENIE

  4. Liz Hurley is not a multi-millionaire, and she's not going to donate to anything.

I think this sort of blackmail by the Daily Mirror is a damn cheek. However rich a person may be it's still up to them what charities they choose to support, or not.

I'd say Richard Branson or Alan Sugar.

  5. Did I miss something?

I don't understand, why are they so horrible for not giving to this particular charity?

  7. The Daily Mirror's Clemmie is one of their gossip columnists. Give her your money and we will be nice to you?

There's a list of celebs and the amount given on the DM site. Simon Cowell is one, Jonathan Ross another. It could be anyone. The charity is Alzeimers, so not objectionable, it's probably the the way the Mirror is demanding money that is the problem.

  9. This is one of the things I dislike about Charities. DON'T get me wrong - I believe in charity and helping out people when you have the resources too.
But to Bitch out someone who didn't give to this one particular Charity is overboard. Giving to certain Charities is NOT a requirement when you are wealthy. Everyone should be allowed to pick and choose which ones they want to support.

And it's just a low, ass-wipey thing that the Daily Mirror wants to do. I hope who ever the celeb is that refused to support the writer stands up for themselves.

  11. My dad used to say of such a person: "They have short arms and deep pockets."

  12. I find it astounding that at least a dozen of you understood what in the hell this blind was asking.

  13. Yeah, extortion. But Daily Mirror isn't a bastion of the UK press anyway.

  16. Here here, Share. Had it happen to me once (not that I have a ton of money - it was a work thing).

I'm sure a lot of celebs wouldn't want to back a gossip columnist. Or maybe they do?

  17. Ernestine, ITA with you.

Thanks genesis and Ms. Wonderland for your explanations.

  19. oh, now i get it - it's the Daily Mirror - the same paper that published those now infamous photos of Kate Moss snorting cocaine! so this celeb who doesn't want to donate holds a personal grudge against the Daily Mirror! (after all the celebs who donate - give about 500pounds to 1000pounds, not a lot at all!)
this MUST be Kate Moss or someone from her loyal group of friends!

  20. I was thinking Bill Murray.
