Bea Arthur Has Died
Beatrice Arthur, the tall, deep-voiced actress whose razor-sharp delivery of comedy lines made her a TV star in the hit shows "Maude" and "The Golden Girls" and who won a Tony Award for the musical "Mame," died Saturday. She was 86.
Lady Godiva was a freedom rider,
she didn't care of the whole world looked.
Joan of Arc, with the lord to guide her,
she was a sister who really cooked.
Isadora was a first bra burner
Aint' ya glad she showed up?
And when the country was falling apart
Betsy Ross got it all sewed up
And then there's Maude
The first video is a Sex And The City spoof, Bea did for the TV Land Awards
The second video is Bea on Rosie
Dumkopf!!!!You were supposed to have taken Bea YONCE!!!

Oh, Bea! You were a real broad's broad. We'll all miss you.
ReplyDelete(And Enty - thanks for the SATC parody! I hadn't seen it before, and it was a great chuckle.)
She was so very classy. The stars of today, both male and female, should wish they could have such class and grace.
ReplyDeleteIt was sad to hear on the news of her passing. She was one of my favorite actresses.
ReplyDeleteI just adored her. Class act.
ReplyDeletewhen Maude first went head-to-head with Archie Bunker, I was 8 years old and a budding feminist. May the wonderful Bea Arthur rest in peace knowing she was a role model for a generation.
ReplyDeleteLOVE HER! RIP Bea Arthur =[
