Last night I was shocked. Not that LeAnn Rimes was having an affair. If you read the blind items you will see that she and her husband have been frequent subjects. I was actually shocked that US Weekly made someone look bad. They never do that. It is an article of faith that celebrities can do no wrong or you don't get access. I guess the figured it was ok to burn the LeAnn Rimes bridge.
Anyway, as I was reading the article last night I kept asking myself who the bigger cheat was. On the one side you have LeAnn who is 26, and has already been married for a bunch of years to a guy, who lets face it, has been a little confused as to which team he plays for and has caused some issues in their marriage. I don't think when you get married at 19 that your husband might enjoy looking at the groomsmen more than the bridesmaids.
On the other side we have Eddie Cibrian who I like to think of as a guy who has never really been able to escape his soap opera past and his limited acting abilities. Now he doesn't need to worry about jumping from job to job trying to find the great big role. He landed LeAnn who has more money than Eddie has ever seen. At home, Eddie has a wife of 8 years and two children, the youngest of which is not even two years old.
I want to blame the equally for this, but I am going to go ahead and blame Eddie more. He has kids, and LeAnn doesn't. Also, although LeAnn should know better, if you married young and have had to go what she has had to go through, then you can kind of understand that she just wanted something more. Sure, she should have thought about the fact Eddie was married and has two children, but Eddie is the guy almost 40 and so he should have been thinking about his family and not about being the next Kevin Federline or Danny Moder or Mr. Tori Spelling.
i have always disliked leeann rimes. she has always played "holier than thou". a couple years ago she was trying to get publicity for herself saying she was rare in hollywood bc she hadn't been in rehab. dogging others to make yourself look better is so annoying.
ReplyDeleteI'm pissed at both of them for getting caught. It looks like it was just an on-set romance, and if they'd been discreet, his wife and kids might not have been hurt. (I know many people would hotly debate this point, but I'm in the "what you don't know can't hurt you" club.)
ReplyDeleteI don't know much about LeeAnn Rimes except for that one song she sang eons ago, "blooo-ooo-ooooo" ...oh and that her husband's a big ol' 'mo. Seems like it won't bother him too much.
ReplyDeleteI'm a little in the "what you don't know can't hurt you" club myself (not completely, but I can't say that I myself could resist every temptation Hollywood has to offer). If you're gonna do it, at least don't humiliate the other person.
ReplyDeleteI do blame him more, since he is the one with the kids and would have more to lose. In a way it sounds like the Tori/Dean affair, except Tori probably wasn't sexually frustrated like LeAnn most likely was. Eddie has no excuse.
ReplyDeleteyou know, it's funny, I was watching a Bon Jovi Unplugged the other night, and LeeAnn did a duet with JBJ..it was weird, he kept touching her, or holding her hand and singing into her eyes, that I remember watching them & thinking that THEY kind of looked like they were having an affair..he looked like he was enamored by her. He certainly didn't look like that when he sang with Jennifer Nettles.

If LeAnn doesn't want to be married, then she needs to divorce Whatshisname. I've never heard of Eddie, but I hope his wife takes everything and tosses his cheating ass out the door. LeAnn can help him pay alimony as penance for idiocy.

I think from the blinds that are supposedly about Rimes and her husband, they are in an open relationship. If her husband has a boyfriend, then I'm sure she's allowed to sleep with other men. That doesn't excuse her from sleeping with a married man with children, however. While Cibrian is more to blame, Rimes isn't exactly innocent in this either. Yeah, I understand frustration with a bisexual spouse, but she couldn't have found a single guy to get some from.

ReplyDeleteRight, but "safe sex" doesn't protect you from everything, expecially herpes. If my spouse was cheating on me, I would want to know so that I could make my own decision as to whether or not to risk sleeping with my spouse.
And because I didn't take "discreet" to mean "safe" in no way means I'm dumb. They have very different meanings and discreet sex is not neccesarily safe sex.
It seems like Enty is trying to portray LeAnn as this very young girl and Ciprian as this old guy ("almost 40") who should know better. In reality, he is 35, only 9 years older than Rimes.

Im just glad Enty mentioned loser Danny Moder. Easy to pile on the Spelling debacle (which was abhorent), but Julia Roberts got a full pass at stealing an other woman's husband and even FLAUNTED it and shamed the woman publically. I still resent the Pretty Woman for that...always comes off fresh as a rose though

Bless you for those links, Mooshki! I'm sorta new-ish to the world of BI's, and I couldn't remember which ones might apply to them. I'm not sure your third link for #2/3 is them, though, because he's far from a "celebrity husband." But yes, the other two definitely sound like them. Sounds like she's of the "Stand By Your Man" variety, rather than the "D-I-V-O-R-C-E" variety. Too bad, there's so much more to life than a love/sexless marriage.

I believe in a monogamous relationship. If you are the type to stray than don't get married. But if you do get married why stray it kind of defeats the purpose.

ReplyDeleteI hope everyone knows you can get STDs even if condoms are used 100% of the time. Being cheated on sucks, but catching an incurable STD because your partner cheated is infinitely worse. What you don't know CAN hurt you.
Eddie has now released a statement saying the rumors are false. I wonder if he is upset with LeAnn for not denying it. Not that I don't believe it happened but usually you deny it even when it's true.

Because many people continue their affairs, get caught up in the new romance and either get caught eventually or decide to leave the wife/hubby for the affair. Then what u didn't know rips your heart out.
You know, it's funny. I grew up with Dean in suburban Detroit and everyone so freaked out when he married LeAnn (obviously in a positive sense), but no one EVER thought he was gay. To this day, my brother, who was in his class, an was in his same Boy Scouts troup, refuses to believe that he plays for the other team. I constantly send my brother random articles about Dean, but he refuses to buy into it. I on the other hand am intrigued. I have pictures of the kid in my parents' living room, looking basically like he does now (except now he has better highlights) and with his little Boy Scouts cravat. It is just so interesting and I keep wishing something would come out to make his non-heteroness official so I could rub it in my brother's face that I was right. And to say that I'm so sad that he didn't come out beforehand and made a seemingly nice girl (at the time) fall in love with him enough to marry him.
