Katie Holmes Paid $40,000 For This?

Remember when the Cruise family was in Tokyo a few weeks ago and Katie showed up to an event with the extensions and the smile and actually looked like someone who was happy and normal, if only for a few minutes? Well allegedly she paid about $40,000 for that makeover which allegedly included, extensions, dental veneers, and premium makeup. So, let me get this straight. She paid $40,000 for it two weeks ago and now looks like this? I would ask for my damn money back.

Here is a guy thing to ask, but doesn't it take forever and hurt not a little to get hair extensions put in your hair, especially when she had her entire head done? How long did she leave them in? A week? Why? I think we all know why. Tom prefers the look above. The teenage boy look with the baggy, horrible looking jeans. I think she looks awful and if she really did spend $40K for basically one night, I think that is a horrible waste of money. I actually think she probably just wore a wig that night. I think the 40K story has got to be wrong. She would leave them in longer if they were extensions right? She probably wears a lot of wigs.

On a positive note, I'm glad they finally let Suri actually walk somewhere.

  1. I ran across old photos of her, from the Dawson Creek era, and it was really sad to see how different and happy and bubbly she used to be. Now she's fallen under Tom Cruise's wrath.

    That's a genuine smile.

  2. I think it is a wig. Her hair is too short to have hair extensions.

  3. I honestly don't know why Tom Cruise should care whether Katie looks like a teenage boy or a grown woman. It's not as if he's going to have sex with her, either way.

  4. It's a life she chose. I think she wanted the fame and fortune that being Tom's beard/wife could provide her. I hope she is happy with her decision. Maybe she was young and naive when she agreed to this. I sadly agree that Tom likes the teenage boy look on her best.

  5. the veneers would hurt more Enty.
depends on the type of extensions and who's doing them.

  6. Her teeth are still crooked so I don't think any of this is true.

Has anyone else noticed that she always dresses like a depressed, sad individual when she's in N.Y.?

She never dresses this bad when she's in L.A. or anywhere else outside of N.Y.

  9. That is weird - she just looked like pre-Tom Katie again in those photos rather than the gaunt and haunted looking woman she seems to be these days. Sad.

  10. I think most of us have at least 2 completely different looks. One for going out, one for lazing about at home. I know I do. And if I had access to the hair stylists/ dsesigners that she has, you probably would not be able to recognize me from one day to the next. Just saying.

That was a lot of money to spend if the amount is true especially for just a few days. I could use that money and spend on paying my bills lol. Tom you need a second beard hahaha.

  12. I had extensions put in for my wedding day, they only took a couple of hours and they didn't hurt at all. They were woven in to my own hair. They can also be pulled out, so the next day I took them out, and it was fine- no pain whatsoever.

But yes if you look back at her former self, she was so bubbly & giggly. It's like they trained her to walk around silent with that half smile on her face, to project a completely different image. And when she does speak, she's very soft-spoken now. It is all just for show in public.

  13. I'll grant you that most of us have two looks - casual and going out, but most of us don't get our picture taken whenever we leave the house! She seems like she just doesn't care anymore. So sad and it didn't have to be.

  17. Veneers take a LONG time, several visits, and hurt like hell. I know--I have them, full mouth (for a tooth-alignment problem).

  18. Veneers: $15,000
    Weave: $5000
    Makeup: $2000
Feeling for just one day like you have your freedom again: Priceless.

  19. figgy:

I thought the same thing about the teeth, and then I wonder if the veneers take that long when you're rich and famous? I have four on my front teeth (repairing the ones busted in a traffic accident). i remember the procedure was like: plaster cast of the teeth. Wait weeks. Get the veneers placed when they come into the doctor's office. But KatE wouldn't have to wait, right? They'd just MAKE them for her and place them then and there, right? No waiting.

  21. if she had all this done in japan, the cost is probably about right. things are INCREDIBLY expensive there.
still ridiculous, but with the exchange rate and the weak american dollar, it sounds about right.
and i think it's a wig. and that she looks good, but too thin.

  24. pamela- her hair actually isn't too short for extensions. the way her hair is styled aswell, it looks like ext and nice layering.

i've seen extensions done on girls with about 3-4 inches length of hair. they didn't go very long, but they layered them well and it looked nice.

her veneers look terrible on her tho. shame.

  25. I used to work for a product co. of Antenna, London called Dome Cosmetics, Inc. - I can do extensions.

It is painless & non-damaging to your hair if done correctly. But a complete "makeover" for $40 grand? They saw her coming...

Like youth is wasted on the young, wealth is wasted on the materialistic. Or something.
