I don't know why I never came across this before, but The New York Times Magazine has done this incredible piece for their online magazine which you have to spend some time looking at. It consists of about 500 photographs of 8 of the biggest stars from the award season this year as they get ready prior to the events and shows them without makeup, and at their most vulnerable. In addition to the photographs there are audio commentaries that go with each group of photos. The photos themselves are amazing to look at it. The eight performers include Kate Winslet, Frank Langella, Robert Downey Jr., Sean Penn, Kat Dennings, Mickey Rourke, Penelope Cruz and Brad Pitt. This is very much worthy of a few minutes of your time today or tonight. I'm grateful to the person who sent it to me. Very cool.

Kate Winslet is even more gorgeous without makeup, and RDJ is hot. But I never noticed Penelope's wonky eye before.
ReplyDeleteBTW, when I first started reading this site there was a blind about a foreign born actress who was having an "epic struggle" with a huge line of coke at some event. A lot of people guessed Penelope Cruz. To this day, I think "cokehead" every time I see her.
Also, I watched Vicky Christina Barcelona last night Or, part of it. Didn't make it through the whole thing.
The Chelsea photos of Kate Winslet were amazing .. but I just adore her any way. The others were - of course - terrific, too. But those as she is just were wonderful.
ReplyDeleteFrank Langella still brings the cool seductive sexy even after all these years. Words fail to describe him .. there is just that something there you can't name. Rarified? Aloof? Ethereal? Something he has had forever and will likely never lose - baring some horrible thing like stroke or Alzheimers! [God Forbid!!]
The picture of Sean through the window .. those eyes and lines around them ... he looks like the quintessential cowboy. Too bad he is an asshole.
And Brad Pitt .. Oy Vey! That man looks like shit. Never was a fan or thought he was hot/sexy/it previously .. but looking back .. compared to now?? Damn! Angie must bleed him nightly and never let him sleep or eat. Would it be redundant of me to point out again he looks like shit??
