Four For Friday - Including A Classic Hollywood Item

#1 & #2 - This movie is in the final stages of production but has hit some big delays. The movie stars this A list tween star (A list only refers to his tweenness) as he attempts to break out into completely different roles. The problem the production is having is that they keep trying to get songs contributed for the movie and every artist just laughs and says no when they find out who the movie stars. At this point, the movie is just going to be filled with songs of anyone who says yes no matter who it is.

#3 & #4- This A+++ lister from days gone by was an Academy Award nominee/winner? and no one will have any doubts he was an A lister. Anyway, back in the day, this actor was also the man you turned to when LSD was just making its way into Hollywood. Everyone wanted to try it and this actor was about the only person who could supply it. It is said he used it almost everyday from the time he first tried it. That could explain why he didn't work much, if at all after first trying it, despite being in his earning years still. He was once married to a C list actress who has one of the most remarkable true life experiences ever.

  3. Easy

    #1 Zac Efron
    #2 Cary Grant

    ReplyDelete
  4. efron for 1 - what about '17 again' for the film? I saw a trailer for it a while back and it looked truly awful. I felt really bad for matt perry...from studio 60 to this?

  5. So if the tweener is blind #1, is the movie name blind #2?

    ReplyDelete
  6. Cary Grant and Betsey Drake

    ReplyDelete
  7. Oh, my bad. I thought he was actually married to Liz Sheridan.

    ReplyDelete
  8. My first thought for #1 was Zac Efron and "17 Again." Seems like they've been working on that movie forever. And Jenna, I totally agree - poor Matthew Perry!

  9. I think you've got it, budford. Cary Grant's LSD use is a pretty open secret, and according to her imdb bio. Betsey Drake was rescued from the Andrea Doria when it sank-that's a pretty remarkable true life experience.

  10. This is probably Zac Efron in that 17 again movie.
I thought of Marlon Brando for the second one . . . . He all but stopped acting.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Robert Mitchum for the 2nd one? He was into pot for sure, maybe LSD too?

    ReplyDelete
  12. YES, CARY GRANT ON 3 & 4...IT WAS PART OF HIS THERAPY, IN HIS BIO HE ADMITTED THIS OPENLY...

    1 & 2 WHO KNOWS

    ReplyDelete
  13. Definitely Cary Grant--he said he retired from movies young because he didn't want to be playing a grandfather.

    ReplyDelete
  14. I THINK ENTY MEANS DYAN CANNON AS HIS WIFE...I THINK I READ HIS DAUGHTER WAS ONE OF THE FIRST...FIRST ...TEST TUBE BABIES..

    ReplyDelete
  15. I auto thought of Brando just cause he was always a freak.

    ReplyDelete
  16. 1. Footloose/Zac Efron
    2. Cary Grant/Betsy Drake

    ReplyDelete
  17. 1 - Zac Efron in '17 Again'
2 - Marlon Brando and Anna Kashfi?

    ReplyDelete
  18. marlon brando and anna kashfi. she did that weird adoption of gia scala and wrote a book.

    ReplyDelete
  19. 2- Or Melvyn Douglas and Helen Gahagan - Maybe her political connections were the reason he could get LSD?

    ReplyDelete
  20. Why is #3 & 4 even a blind item????????????? Everyone knows Cary Grant used LSD. It was LEGAL then. He was open about it and he used it only under a doctors care. I thought blind items were supposed to be for deep dark secrets, not open facts?

And I'm not sure why Enty says he "supplied" it. He hooked people up with his doctor, but I hardly consider that "suppling" someone with drugs when they are legal.

  21. I highly doubt this is Footloose. If that is true, then they are all stupid. Kenny Ortega is directing. He directed all the HSM movies as well as Hannah Montana tour and the Cheetah Girls movies. He also does a lot of the Opening Ceremonies for the Olympics. Say what you will, but the guy knows how to put together a musical!

  22. "Definitely Cary Grant--he said he retired from movies young because he didn't want to be playing a grandfather."

The blind doesn't say he retired from movies while he did LSD, it just says he didn't make that many movies during this time period. Either way, Grant did LSD around 1953 and retired from the screen in 1966. He only made one movie between 1954 and 1956, however, and I think this is what the blind is referring to.

  23. "I THINK ENTY MEANS DYAN CANNON AS HIS WIFE...I THINK I READ HIS DAUGHTER WAS ONE OF THE FIRST...FIRST ...TEST TUBE BABIES.."

Grant's daughter was born in 1966. The first test tube baby, Louise Brown, was born in 1978 . . .

I'm assuming #4 refers to Betsy Drake, not Dyan Cannon, because not only did Drake introduce Grant to LSD, but she had a "true life experienc" of being rescued from an ocean liner.

  24. Drake survived the Andrea Doria! Hadn't known that.

Cary Grant is the obvious pick, but he worked well into his sixties. Also, he was prescribed his drugs. I'm not sure he could provide an entire subculture with the drug.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Yep..Zac and Cary and Betsy!

    ReplyDelete
  27. 1. Efron 2. 17 Again (Footloose is in pre-pro)
    3. Grant 4. Drake

    ReplyDelete
  28. I just watched one of the trailers for '17 again' (again) on imdb and at the end it says 'Look for it on DVD and Blue ray'. So its not even getting a cinema release! Don't know if this means that it is the film enty's talking about or not.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I adore Cary Grant.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I'm looking right now, but honestly don't think it is Zac...as much as that '17 Again' movie looks like it's gonna suck, the blind refers to "tween" star and his "tweenness". While Zac appeals to the tween-set, he is no tween himself, he's already 21.

*note* I never knew I could use the word 'tween' so much in one realllly long sentence. Sorry if I was redundant!

  31. Just to be different... I'm gonna say #2 is Clark Gable, married to #3 the lovely Carole Lombard who also had quite a life (having her face scarred in a car accident, losing contracts because of it, died in a plane crash...

    *shrugs*
For 1 and 2 I have no idea. I don't really care about teenie boppers :P

    ReplyDelete
  32. Oh yeah, and Gable stopped acting after she died for i think 3 years... he became depressed...

3&4 are Cary Grant and Betsy Drake (who survived the sinking of the Andrea Doria)

  35. Uh, Carole Lombard was NOT a C list actress.

  36. 2-3- Dennis Hopper and Brooke Hayward

  37. kanonymous- ohh true. i didn't even notice that part.
I don't always pay attention to Ent's rankings in that way. Some actors I know more of than others and therefore consider them A, or I NEVER hear of and consider them C, etc.

    Message to ENT:
When you do Random Photos, you should include the actor's ranks with their pics... Not all the time, but sometimes... i bet sometimes we'd be surprised... Or at least I would :P

For #1 I was thinking that kid from "Drake and Josh." Not Drake Bell but the other one. Isn't he trying to get into "serious" acting now?

Hey all..think I figured out an answer to one of enty's blinds from a couple of months ago..

    http://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2008/10/todays-blind-items_20.html

I think the answer was jon and kate plus eight cause I just found this article....

    http://www.parentdish.com/2009/03/06/jon-gosselin-caught-in-the-rumor-mill/

    ReplyDelete
  42. Cary Grant was famous for his experimental LSD use, supposedly turned on by his shrink.

    ReplyDelete
  43. that is so FUCKED up, if it is indeed jon and kate...

Anon- Which blind are you refering to? I clicked on the link but nothing came up.

  45. I really don't think that this is Zac Efron. 17 Again is supposed to come out in like two weeks or something, and as someone else said, Footloose is only in pre-production. I don't really know who it could be though, I don't follow the tween people.

    ReplyDelete
  46. my first guess for #1 was Zac Efron too :)

Cary Grant fits nicely for #3&4 too.

    ReplyDelete
  47. 3&4: Cary Grant and Dyan Cannon. Duh!

    ReplyDelete
  48. If it is Zac it cannot be for Footloose. That's. Musical and it already has songs that go along with the story. Sothere wouldn't be a problem donating songs to it because it already has a soundtract.

  49. Help! (Sorry this is off-topic, but...)

I can't find that website that has a lot of the blind item reveals. I've seen some posters reference it on here before. I think it's something like CGL blind items or ACL blind items or something.

Does anyone know the web address? Thank you, thank you! :)

  51. yay! thanks very much, jw12! i really appreciate it. i am addicted to the blind items. :)

  52. I know I'm late posting, but I thought Rupert Grint in "Wild Target" for #1 & #2.
Just figured I'd post since nobody else came up with it...

    ReplyDelete
  53. Okay, I am guessing Cary Grant and Barbara Hutton "Cash and Grant". Her mother committed suicide when she was young, Barbara is the one that found her. "Poor Little Rich Girl" is her biopic.

    ReplyDelete
  54. I really don't think it is 17 Again and Efron. For one thing, the movie is too close to release. Plus the movie was ready and done sometime in the summer of last year when it underwent test screenings. But then it's schedule got pushed around due to the WB/New Line mess. It just doesn't sound right.

It could be Robert Pattinson and one of his movies. Didn't one of them get pushed back recently from March to May?

TBH this whole blind sounds kind of ridiculous. I mean, who would turn down money like that, unless it seriously conflicted with their ideology.
