Today's Blind Items
This really could be something that is not a blind item, but the person who gave it to me really wants it as a blind rather than with a big screaming EXCLUSIVE all over it. I don't have the why yet, but it is supposed to be very interesting. You have a B- list television actress from one of the best television ensemble comedies of all time and she is getting divorced from her well connected industry husband who has had a sporadic career despite his connections. Even though they have a very, very, very young child the marriage has no chance of making it.
The Arquettes? No idea how old their kid is, though. But David I guess coul dbe considered to be connected through his sisters?
ReplyDeleteDeborah Messing from WILL & GRACE.
ReplyDeleteAmy Prohler and Will Arnett
ReplyDeleteamy prohler is B-???? really? that's the part that's throwing me off. whoever it is, they obviously have a brand new baby with the emphasis on the 'very, very, very young child.'
ReplyDeleteCourtney Cox is expecting--I don't know how far along she is, though. Does fetal qualify as very, very, very young?
ReplyDeleteCould be David...I had no idea she was knocked up!
ReplyDeleteI think Courtney and David fit the bill better than Amy and Will.
ReplyDeleteThe Arnett/Poeler guesses do not make any sense. The male counterpart is not an actor.
ReplyDeleteWow, who is reporting Courtney is knocked up?
ReplyDeleteIs David well-connected? I know the whole family is famous, but does that qualify for well-connected? The sporadic career makes sense though.
ReplyDeleteTotally Courteney and David. Sad.
ReplyDeletethe husband is not an actor.
ReplyDeleteJenna Elfman? lol.
GOod one Jax
ReplyDeletemessing is a good answer. her husband and his brother are both writers and producers. her son is three.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteI'm on the Debra Messing bandwagon. Her husband writes and produces "Damages", so I would say he's connected. Her son is roughly the same age as Courteney's daughter (almost 5).
ReplyDeleteI don't get that the hubby is not an actor. I get that he may be many things - actor, producer, director, etc.
ReplyDeleteI don't have any guesses that are better, but by "very, very, very young", I assumed "small baby". Not a 5-year old.
ReplyDeletei think because enty refers to him as an 'industry husband', it means he's in the industry, but not an actor.
ReplyDeleteand i think he would say baby unless it was someone who was a child who was 2,3, 4,5 - in that range.
that's how i read it---this guy's in the biz but not an actor. and i think it's an infant---small one---from the description. not a 3 or 5 year old.
ReplyDeleteLondon, Dec 18 (ANI): It seems that Courteney Cox needs to work hard on her spellings, for the actress once misspelt her own daughter's name.
ReplyDeleteIn an attempt to get her four-year-old daughter Coco in a school, the former Friends star wrote a letter to the head of the school but misspelt her daughter as Cock.
I wrote: We are so looking forward to seeing you and signed it, Courteney and Cock, The Sun quoted her as telling US talk show host Jimmy Kimmel.
Jimmy joked: Maybe she assumed you and your husband weren't getting along. (ANI)
Further suspicion it's Courteney and David: the "Screaming" headline reference. They were both in Scream together.
ReplyDeleteI don't want it to be this couple, but my guess is Angela Kinsey (from The Office) and her husband. Her husband's brother is Toby on the show, and her husband's brother-in-law is Greg Daniels (does just about everything with The Office). They had a baby a few months ago. Don't know that Angela is as high as B-list, but everything else fits.
ReplyDeleteNancy Travis?
ReplyDeleteArquette is definitely a connection.
ReplyDeletepaleale makes a good point.
convinced me
Jill that is what I was going to say, but I don't really know if The Office is considered one of the best ensemble comedies of all time.
ReplyDeletei like jill's guess.
ReplyDeletecoco is too old to be "very very very young" i consider that to be newborn, under a year. and even if she is pregnant, the child has not even been born yet. it just doesnt fit even tho everyone wants it to.
For some reason Tina Fey popped into my head first. Her husband isn't an actor; I'm really not sure what he does. But they have very young daughter and many people think 30 Rock has a brilliant cast. I don't think Tina is B- but who knows.
ReplyDeletekimmypie, i do! and enty loooooves the office.
ReplyDeleteWhat is Ent's definition of "best?" Friends was definitely one of the most successful ensemble comedies, but I don't know if Ent actually liked the show enough to call it one of the best. I know he's not a fan of JenA.
ReplyDeleteSNL is a comedy sketch show, different from just a typical comedy, so I am inclined to rule Amy Poehler out. I also consider her better than B-, and she isn't on tv anymore. Courtney and Debra would fit the profile more, as they're both still doing television acting but less successful than their big hit shows, so their star power has waned considerably. and he did mention Debra today since The Starter Wife just got cancelled.
Forgot to mention I don't know anything about Debra's personal life or even how many kids she has, let alone how old they are. But I'm kind of leaning towards her right now with Courtney as a second guess.
ReplyDeleteOne more thing about David A: he has done just about every job in TV and film: actor, producer, director, writer, and even songwriter. Yet he really hasn't done anything big since Scream.
ReplyDeleteI am going with the Cox/Arquette guess also because of the last hint of the blind. Why would you go with very x3's clue, when you could just say infant or newborn. I think this clue refers to Cox possibly being pregnant with a second child....
ReplyDeleteKimmypie, I might argue that :)
ReplyDeleteTheir is suppose to be another Scream which they are hoping to get the originals back on.
ReplyDelete"the marriage has no chance of making it" makes me think is a couple that has recently married. Cox/Arquette have been married ( by Hollywood standards) a lifetime. I don't think it's them for that reason and the very, very, very, young child would have to be an infant no?
ReplyDeleteI really hope it's not Angela but everything fits including the fact ENT has a rock solid source(s) from The Office.
ReplyDeleteI'm digging on the Cox Arquettes...with a side of Courtney as preggers. Now, the real question...is David the papa, and why are they splitting?
ReplyDeletewhat about allison hannigan from HIMYM? People love that show, some unknown husband and a brand new kid or has she not popped yet?
ReplyDeleteI like the Angela Kinsey guess!
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteWho has stated that Courtney is pregnant? If she's pregnant, then I could get behind that guess but otherwise, their kid is too old.
ReplyDeleteIf this the Arquettes and Courtney is knocked up I wonder if this is the also the answer to another blind from a few days ago about the wife being knocked up by someone else and the husband doesn't care.
ReplyDeleteDavid Arquette is an actor, not a well connected industry husband so I don't think it's them. I was totally with Alexis on the Tina Fey guess but her daughter's turning four this year, so that's not that young. I almost want to say Courtney Thorne-Smith but I don't really think According to Jim's a great ensemble comedy.
ReplyDeleteI'm stupidly stumped.
I'm going with Debra Messing mainly because of the blind Lainey had about her having a lap band and that being skinny was more important to Debra than having another child, which her husband really wanted. Would Will & Grace be considered an ensemble show? Didn't really watch it so I don't know.
ReplyDeleteAngela Kinsey is the only fit thus far. B minus list is apt for her, enty loves The Office and he would consider it an all time great ensemble, and her writer husband doesn't get much work despite his family connections on The Office. He also seems to be a bit of a recluse since he is never on the red carpet with her and he was really shy when Angela was on a house flipping show. Their child is under a year old.
ReplyDeletei'm wondering if the word EXCLUSIVE relates to the show 'dirt'.
ReplyDeletehaha Jill, I love me some Office, I just didn't know if it was classified as one of the best of all time.
ReplyDeleteBut Ent does have the Rashida Jones connection, so we may very well have our winner here, semantics aside!!
not to harp on it but the husband is not an actor. no matter what list, Enty would refer to him as A/B/C/D/Z list.
ReplyDeletethis is not an actor.
producer, executive etc. yes.
Julia Louis-Dreyfus? Seinfeld is one of the best television ensemble comedies of all time. She is married to writer Brad Hall. I can't find out if she has recently had a child but I think I remember hearing something about this.
ReplyDeleteNothing matters and what if it did
ReplyDeleteI was thinking Julia Louis-Dreyfus, too...but I'm not sure about the age of her kid. My second guess would be Tina Fey.
ReplyDeleteI thought JLD at first, but they've been married forever.
ReplyDeleteI don't believe its Allison Hannigan. Her husband was on Buffy (he played Giles) which is how they met. They seem very solid, and no, I don't believe she's had the baby yet.
ReplyDeleteWhat would be considered the best ensemble comedies of all time?
ReplyDeleteThe ones that come to mind for me are:
Cheers
Seinfeld
Arrested Development
Would Friends be included? I am biased because I hated it, but maybe it's up there.
Would Will & Grace even be included? Enty said "best" not "most successful" or whatever. What about Frasier?
Could be JLD, as mentioned, CC, no one from AD fits. This hurts my head.
I thought Julia Louis Dreyfus, just because her shows since Seinfeld have been pretty awful. But she's 48, and her youngest kid is about 11 or 12.
ReplyDeleteCourteney Cox is not a B- list television actress. Neither is Jennifer Aniston or Lisa Kudrow.
ReplyDeletecourtney thorne smith
ReplyDeleteson born 01/11/09
show: ally mcbeal
ReplyDeleteIt isn't Amy P. from the Office because her husband Will Arnett has 9 new projects in development right now.
ReplyDeleteI also believe the husband is not an actor and the child is an infant.
Oh well back to the drawing board.
I vote Courtney Thorne Smith.
ReplyDeletebut who is courtney thorne smith married to? i can't find anything about this guy being well connected in the industry. and i don't think 'ally mcbeal' was all that great. maybe that's just me.
ReplyDeletebest ensembles, i'd think, would be 'friends', 'seinfeld', like that. i had also thought of julia louis dreyfus but it totally doesn't fit her. she won an emmy for her new show and no way is she B-.
Joely Fisher? Her youngest was born in September.
ReplyDeleteI guess I wouldn't call Ellen one of the best ensemble comedies of all time.
Courtney Thorne Smith's husband is an agent/manager/ media consultant
ReplyDeleteI like the Courtney Thorne Smith guess except her child was born January 2008 making it a 1 year old not quite a toddler but certainly no infant...
ReplyDeleteHave to point out that Alyson Hannigan is married to Alexis Denisof, who played Wesley (not Giles) on first Buffy then Angel.
ReplyDeleteAnd I really, really hope it isn't the Cox-Arquette marriage that is down the drain; I really like them :(
My first thought was definitely the Arquettes but then I decided (before opening up all the other comments) that they didn't fit. If she is pregnant (which I didn't know) and he can be considered well-connected (which is questionable) then I guess you could make it fit. But I'm inclined to think it's not them just because I think the clues would have been worded differently if it were.
ReplyDeleteThat being said I have no other ideas, that haven't already been mentioned.
i was searching Arrested Development..but none match that i can find.
ReplyDeleteTINA FEY- Enty is remiss to report this as as a blind because it's just not that juicy. She's a talented lady and a great writer but where's the shock value? Alec Baldwin as the cause of breakup?
ReplyDeleteHARDEEHARHAR
another clue I missed about the Arquettes:
ReplyDelete-EXCLUSIVE. Courteney's show-Dirt. Screaming-Scream.
But Angela Kinsey does seem to fit very well too unfortunately.
It suddenly hit me (while ironing some clothes) - could this be Affleck and Gardner? I know she hasn't been on TV in awhile but....I'd definitely consider Ben's career to be "sporadic"
ReplyDeletenah....I retract my guess.
ReplyDeleteCourtney Thorne-Smith? I'm not sure what her husband does.
ReplyDeleteTina Fey. Might be awkward since her hubby works on the show too.
ReplyDeleteIm really curious to hear the case for Tina Fey being B- list
ReplyDeleteSame goes for Cox
I am reading "they have a very, very, very young child" as fetus or newborn. SNL is very much one of the best television ensemble comedies, as are Seinfeld, Friends, News Radio, The Office...
ReplyDeletehahaha, I wondered how long before someone said Ben and Jen!
On what planet is Tina Fey B-??
ReplyDeleteI'm behind the Angela Kinsey guess. I just don't see Fey, Cox, Messing as B-.
They have all been A list for tv.
Julia Louis-Dreyfuss. Didn't she just have a baby not that long ago? Too lazy to look it up.
ReplyDeleteJulia Louis-Dreyfuss's youngest child is 7. I don't know how connected her husband is but he would fit if you are talking about someone being out of work.
ReplyDeleteLook at his IMDB page. The man hasn't had a steady job in a while.
Dreyfuss is well above B- list also. She has been on the greatest sitcom ever and she is currently starring in her own sitcom which she has already won an Emmy for.
ReplyDeleteok, but Messing is worthless and irrelevant. And more than that: WHO CARES!
ReplyDeleteI read immediately and thought Tina Fey, except for the B- part
I just don't see the Office as an 'all time smash', just yet. It is still on.
ReplyDeleteWhat about Lisa Kudrow? Isn't her husband an agent or producer or something?
ReplyDeleteLisa's child is not young. She is also not B- list.
ReplyDeleteReasons it's not:
ReplyDeleteCox/Arquette:
Courtney was just at a charity gala Monday wearing a skin tight dress that showed no sign of pregnancy. Plus she's almost 45 and a world of trouble conceiving Coco at age 39. Coco's gotta be 5 now, that's NOT a very very young child. (PS where is this Cox pregnancy rumor other than one poster here?)
Also, ENTY would call Friends one of the "most successful" ensemble comedies of all time, not one of the "best". He hates JenA and Friends was decent, but not one of the "best."
Also, he would have called the husband an actor. This implies he's a behind the scenes type.
Reasons it's not Messing:
Her kid is already in preschool, that's not "v/v/v young" child. Plus he hates DM. And Will & Grace had a couple of good seasons but for the most part it was overacted horsecrap. Not one of the "best" comedies of all time.
I like Jill's guess, it comes the closest to making sense with the item's details. And Enty LOVES The Office.
Im on the fetus train. The only thing that would be 'very, very, very' younger would involve fluids...
ReplyDeleteCox ftw
I think it's Sarah J. Parker!!!
ReplyDeleteI think it's Sarah J. Parker!!!
I think it's Sarah J. Parker!!!
I think its Julie Louise Dreyfus. The ensemble is Seinfeld.
ReplyDeleteShe is married to an industry guy writer Brad Hall.
They have a son but he is not really young...?
Cant be SJP. Her husband is an actor, and I really dont think ENTY would have forgotten to mention that.
ReplyDeleteIf Angela Kinsey was getting a divorce, I don't think it would beg a big screaming EXCLUSIVE over it. It would be sad for her and her baby born in May but outside of a small circle of Office fans, it would hardly cause any harm. Besides, his husband is not that well connected. He's related to Greg Daniels and Paul Lieberstein but their influence is confined to The Office and the upcoming "Parks and Recreation", not all over the industry.
ReplyDeleteAnd for me, being B- list means that you're famous and that people actually know your name.
Well look at what you set off here.
ReplyDeleteHow about Katey Sagal from Married with Children? She and hubby Kurt Sutter had a baby in 2007 through a surrogate. He's a writer but don't know how well-connected he might be.
ReplyDeletehttp://www.crazydaysandnights.net/2006/12/i-was-not-going-to-post-today-but-then.html
ReplyDeleteAn older Enty post explains A-D list.
I don't think Tina Fey is A-list, it's all about being a 'star'. Enty refers to A-list TV celebs and that is more based on Ratings($$)not Awards. 30Rock is not doing well in the ratings. Baby Mama made 60 million. Could she have done it without Amy Poehler? Tina Fey may not be the blind, but she is not A-list.
A-list movie stars are about box office, not awards.F. Murray Abraham won an Oscar. Is he A-list?
It's about getting a studio to put up alot of dough with your name attached to a film AND have it do recoup+++, not about awards. Then there's the Oscar jynx that's bumped a slew of A-list stars down the pecking order over and over again.
I don't know about Tina not being A-list. She won multiple awards just this year and gained significant notoriety for the Sarah Palin impressions and all the American Express ads. That would give her even more name recognition beyond 30 Rock, SNL and Baby Mama. Don't forget that Mean Girls was a commercial and critical success and that she wrote and acted in that. I wouldn't put her up with Brangelina, but is certainly better than a B-list TV actress.
ReplyDeleteThis comment has been removed by the author.
ReplyDeleteIf Tina Fey is B list, then it's B+. I think she would be an A list TV star and B list film star.
ReplyDeleteIt's obviously Angela Kinsey. (GREAT guess, Jill!!) ..Here's why I think so:
ReplyDelete1) "The Office" IS one of the 'best ensemble comedies of all time.' (You may not watch it, but it's an award-winning, hilarious, and very popular show.)
2) "B-" describes AK perfectly. She may not be a household name, but any actress who plays a key character in top show like "The Office" is not "C list".
3) Her husband, Warren Lieberstein, is a writer (not an actor) who is VERY well-connected. According to IMDB: "His sister, Susanne Daniels, is the president of Lifetime Entertainment Services and is married to Greg Daniels (who created "The Office" & "King of the Hill", was an SNL writer for YEARS, and is producing Amy Poehler's new show, which just-so-happens to co-star Rashida Jones. :) Plus, his brother is Paul Lieberstein (a writer/executive producer for "The Office, "The Bernie Mac Show," "Drew Carey," etc., who also plays Toby on "The Office"... Yup, that's a heckuva lot more "connected" to the industry than your average Joe.
4) In spite of those connections, the dude's resume is amazingly thin. (I feel bad saying that, but it's TRUE.)
5) Angela's baby is only 9 months old. (i.e., "A very, very, very young child.")
6) The fact that Ent has MORE than one source on "The Office" is also pretty relevant. (Hey RJ! Luvs ya!) ...And just b/c this isn't about Jen/Angelina/Courtney (blah, blah..) doesn't mean it isn't big news (as well as a bit "sensitive" for people who actually work on the show.)
Of course I STILL could be wrong, but so far this is the only guess that actually makes sense AND fits the clues...
curious_cailyn...I'm SOLD!
ReplyDeleteThat was a dang good post.
I was coming to post that I've spent ALL MORNING on stupid celebrity baby blogs trying to come up with someone new. I came to the conclusion that there were only 2 possibilities, Angela and Courtney Cox. AND the CC guess was weak at best, she would HAVE to be pregnant for it to even remotely fit.
I'm on board with the AK guess.
is it really a big EXCLUSIVE if angela from the office got divorced? ... i mean if Courtney Cox and David Arquette got divorced that would be all over the tabs
ReplyDeletesome of the best tv ensemble comedies, not including really old ones:
ReplyDeletei really really cant think of actresses names today, my brain is fried
Seinfeld -- JLD
Friends -- Kudrow, Cox
Cheers -- Kirstie Alley? Diane? Danny Devito's wife?
Office -- already mentioned, is Jenna Fischer married?
Mash -- Loretta Swit? haha
Scrubs -- is Sarah Chalke married?
SATC -- Cattrall?
My Name is Earl -- Jamie Pressley (didnt she just get separated)
30 Rock -- Tina Fey, Lisa Krakowski or whatever
Weeds -- the two three named women on there, MLP and
Entourage -- the publicist
Fresh Prince -- tatiana ali married?
I too thought Tina Fey, since her comedy is on top right now. Is Jane K. from her show married?
ReplyDeleteEXCLUSIVE doesn't mean HEADLINE, it means "first and only person reporting it at this time."
ReplyDeleteI'm sold on Kinsey. I'm sad about it, too.
Maybe the fact that Enty said "this could really be something that is not a blind item" is a clue because some us may not know or care about the couple involved.
ReplyDeleteSo it could be Angela Kinsey who fits all of the clues.
He also says the whys are supposed to be interesting. Maybe that's the reason the rest of us who don't know her will care.
i thought jenna elfman, but i don't necessarily think that her show was all that funny. I've been told that I look like her. BUT NO!!!!
ReplyDeletemaybe its secwet because shes $cino
but Bodhi's an actor, right? hm.
It's got to be Angela Kinsey which makes me sad. Love her on the office and she seems cool in her interviews.
ReplyDelete"a very, very, very young child" has to be a baby or unborn child - one who isn't going to remember mommy and daddy being married.
The Office is a very popular show even if you don't watch it. And Enty has sources at The Office (RJ!)
I guess I'm old. I think The Office is D-rated dreck, not worth scraping off my shoe, and Angela Kinsey isn't even G-list, let alone B-. She has absolutely no name recognition outside fans of her show.
ReplyDelete
