At some point today there will be photos. They just need to be uploaded and the snark attached, but Blogger is not cooperating. So, in the mean time, enjoy a blind item.
What current Emmy award winning network show has a production assistant who does not do any work related to the production but still gets paid. Oh yes, they get paid by the production company for basically sitting around. Why? Well when the PA is not sitting around he is the drug dealer of choice for about ten of the cast, crew and producers and they want him always close at hand. So, he gets paid for being there and doing nothing, and paid for his drug selling skills. Not a bad gig I guess. Which one does he put on his resume?
Mad Men? House?
ReplyDeleteHouse?
ReplyDelete"...the snark attached"
ReplyDeleteThat phrase just gave me a mini-orgasm.
"Lost?" It must be harder for them to find drugs on location.
sad. hollywood just eats them alive.
ReplyDeletelost, mad men, 24, 30 rock, the office, the west wing?
ReplyDeleteMooshki is onto something about Lost
and it has to be a big crew and cast....i'm going with house or lost
ReplyDeleteand it has to be a big crew and cast....i'm going with house or lost
ReplyDeleteWhat about ER? Huge cast and crew. Not a big Emmy winner now, but back in the day....
ReplyDeleteI'll vote Lost.
ReplyDeleteLaurie better not be in on it, if it's House.
ReplyDeletehouse hasn't won any emmy for the show have they?
ReplyDeleteAll of them? There's always someone on the production who can get whatever the talent needs.
ReplyDeleteNot the show in general, but it's won for writing/directing etc., so I think that would count.
ReplyDeleteThat would explain season 5 to me :)
ReplyDeleteSaturday Night Live...
ReplyDeleteooo I like that guess, Jeff.
ReplyDeleteDoes anyone ever get these right? And do you find out if you are right? I've only been coming here a week - and this place is fascinating!
ReplyDeleteI like the SNL guess.
ReplyDeletecanadiangirl, enty reveals some of the answers twice a year so we find out if some of our guesses are right.
ReplyDeletehe just did a reveal on january 1st. go to the home page and click on the date in the left hand column. the next reveal will be in july.
and yes, a lot of people guess the right answers. i am not one of them.
Thanks Molly ... I'm off to check it out!
ReplyDeleteThat wouldn't be the first time somebody would be on the payroll just to take orders for drugs. In the early '80s, Casablanca Records (Kiss and many disco acts) had a girl who asked everybody in the offices every morning what they would like to take. It was in the open. Music labels, TV shows, there are lots of other examples. You just need money, people spending hours under spotlights every day and you need a steady drugs supply.
ReplyDeleteHowever...
"Mad Men" is cable, not network
If it's SNL, it wouldn't be a big shock, given the drug intake in the '70s (Belushi...), the '80s (Robert Downey Jr) or the '90s (Chris Farley).
30 Rock doesn't seem to be shot at a frantic schedule with lots of money in L.A.
Wait a second-what about Gossip Girl? is that network? Leighton Meester is in the randoms today, so it got me thinking.
ReplyDeleteIs everyone familiar with Blind Item Rehash?
ReplyDeletehttp://www.agcwebpages.com/BLINDITEMS/MAINPAGE.html
A must for all those obsessed as much as I am.
omg - amazonblue - thanks a ton for posting that link. i hadn't bookmarked it when i first saw it and couldn't find it doing google searches last week.
ReplyDeleteIt's going with Lost or SNL.
ReplyDeleteI actually found this website through the AGC blind items website!!! And oh yes, I'm totally, TOTALLY addicted to it...
ReplyDeleteAnd I have no clue about this BI, but 24 sounds like a pretty good guess due to Kiefer's long history of drug and booze abuse. How many times has he been in Rehab?
HBO? Entourage? Jeremy Piven seems to use enough drugs to keep someone employed full time.
ReplyDeleteI like the SNL guess. It's the most plausible; I can definitely see having someone there to not only supply a dozen or so cast members, but the occassional host and musical guest as well.
ReplyDeleteNetwork television means it's on NBC, ABC, FOX, etc. Not cable.
One of the two top breweries in Canada used to have a promotions rep on the payroll whose only function was to supply coke to staff and at music events they sponsored. Brian now claims to be in freelance promotions. I still see him at events. Dealing.
ReplyDeleteAGC is the tits. Someone posted it on dlisted last January and I have been addicted ever since. Kudos to the peeps that run it!!
ReplyDeletehmmm...
30 Rock
THe Simpsons
Ugly Betty
Grey's Anatomy
AGC used to have an awesome newsgroup. I miss The Pink Princess. Not sure if she's actually the one who coined the nickname "Fishstick" for Gwynnie.
ReplyDeleteNew to this site. I love the posts. You guys are alot of fun. What about "24?" Network, Emmy winning.....
ReplyDeleteamazonblue: thanks for the link... ANOTHER blog to read when I get home :)
ReplyDeleteFor reals...HOW is this even news?
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure MOST SHOWS have someone like this on payroll - they just disguise it well, if at all. Pttttf.
Bored now, going to bed. Laters all.
24 is a great guess.
ReplyDeleteI vote SNL. If true, this person has probably been ruining the talents of castmembers for years.
ReplyDeleteLost
ReplyDeleteIt's probably a pot person, but I'm sure it is LOST. They are remote and must be protected. You know Sawyer, Hurley, Jack, Kate, Bernard and Rose toke!
ReplyDeleteThanks to those who like my blind item site. Thanks also to EL...who gave me such a big shoutout a couple of years ago...it really sent the website soaring.
ReplyDeleteI miss Pink Princess soooo much, as do all the originals at AGC, but she didn't coin Fishstick, that honor belongs to Ted Casablanca...and it fits Gwyneth more and more as time goes by.
