That's Messed Up

I know that for most of you, if you are interested in reading or hearing about Caylee Anthony and her case that you probably just watch Nancy Grace get riled up about it and then you get riled up and that's just fine. I don't really pay attention to the case other than reading some article if it pops up in front of me or something. Such was the case this morning when I was reading about the details of some court documents that were released yesterday.

According to the documents, Caylee was found in a laundry bag. She had a Winnie The Pooh Blanket, several iron on letters, and a toy horse with her. If that is not enough to break your heart right there, it seems that the duct tape which was used to bind Caylee had a heart shaped sticker placed on it. This whole thing is sick, but the heart on the duct tape thing is just beyond disturbing.

As I said before I don't watch coverage of this story because I just can't watch it and then not go into some terrible depression. But, because I don't watch the coverage and I am ignorant about it, I would like to know from those who do, whether they have ruled out the guy who kept calling the police to report something suspicious. I have just been really suspicious of that guy from day one. He is kind of like the arsonist who calls it in to the fire department and then watches the fireman put out the fire he started.

Now, that's not to say that Caylee's mom is not the worst mother in the world, because she is. And I think Caylee's grandparents are pretty much the worst grandparents in the world and should probably be locked up for something. So, was it Caylee's mom alone? Was it Caylee and this guy who saw something suspicious? Just him? I don't understand the need for duct tape if it was Caylee's mom. The hear thing is going to give me nightmares because that is the sickest damn thing ever.

  1. The heart on the duct tape really bothers me, too. It's beyond depravity and makes me all kinds of sad and disgusted.

  2. That is just sick.It is very heartbreaking. I don't follow it too much because like you it would make me too depressed. When you see their innocent little faces and wonder how anyone, let alone their own mother do such a heinous thing to a child.

  3. Okay, my g/f wathces Nancy Grace every night and is SO into this case, so I'm forced to watch along.

I said the EXACT same thing Ent said, as far as the meter reader who reported the bag. Because I WAS a meter reader for years, and I never once reported a bag I saw on my walks. I understand the case being massive, and he was in the area, but you report it once and move on. Why did he keep calling? That struck me as VERY odd. And I can't understand why that's not looked at more closely. And he reported it 3 days in a row. You don't walk the same route every day! It's a monthly route. It's like a criminal who goes back to the scene of a crime, which is most common.

The sticker on the duct tape I believe was part of a 'game' they were playing with Caylee to make her think it was ok. Just glad that bitch mom is in jail, but I don't think she acted alone at all.

    Sorry this was so long.

  4. I don't know anything about the man to which you refer, ENT, but the details of the heart sticker and blanket guarantee to me the mother was there, that sick bitch.

  5. I read about the heart sticker earlier and it just overwhelmed me. The whole thing is beyond comprehension.

  6. I'm almost 8 months pregnant with my first child (a girl) so this case gets me all kinds of charged up.

Given all available information, Mom is obviously completely effing psycho. There is no question in my mind, at least, that she is guilty and should fry. She didn't report her infant daughter missing for over a month(instead went out partying and using her friend's stolen checkbooks), and when her own mother finally did report the child missing, she lied and deliberately misled police officers. This is the girl who apparently pretended to hold a job for several years after getting fired. She also supposedly concocted some story about the child's father being dead after leading some other guy to believe that he was the kid's father for about a year.

What I don't understand is how the grandparents went from telling the cops that something was fishy with their daughter and that she should be futher interrogated, to doing a complete 180 degree turn and becoming her biggest defender.

As for the guy who found and reported the remains, I don't think he had anything to do with it. The fact that his integrity is being questioned (while I think it is unfortunately necessary) is the kind of thing that discourages good samaritans giving assistance.

  7. The meter reader has been cleared, he's also been awarded the cash reward $5K, I think, for phoning in the tip --- which was probably his motivation for the multiple calls.

The current thesis is, that the Mom, used cold medicine, probably Benadryl, to make the daughter sleep so she could go party. They think she may have accidently killed her with the overdose ... or if she restrained her somehow to keep her in bed, should the child wake up while the Mom was doing whatever.

  8. The only saving grace in this case is that the Man upstairs is watching and saw what happened. Whoever did this will fry in hell for eternity.

  9. From what I heard, the meter reader saw what he thought was a skull and reported it. When he saw that it was still there, he called the cops again. If I saw something shady and I thought no one was doing anything about it I would probably report it again.

We all like to think that a mother could never do something like this. It is hard to imagine, but there are some sick bitches out there. (the pooh blanket is what breaks my heart, poor baby RIP)

  10. You're right Aran, but I think that they think Casey may have drugged her and put her in her trunk while at her boyfriends, then put the tape over her mouth, and possibly bound her so that if she did wake up, she wouldn't make a fuss. I think they also think she may have used chloroform (homemade) on her.

I agree about the grandparents...they are negligent if nothing else. I think Casey's father is ready to turn on Casey, but her mother isn't...and that apple didn't fall far from the tree in regards to Casey and her mother. The both appear to be master storytellers.

And Nancy Grace gets on my nerves. She's much too aggressive...and needlessly rude.

  11. Living not all that far from Orlando I hear more than I want about this story. I think the mom is guilty and I think the grandmother knows a lot more than she's telling.

I can't wait for this to go to trial.

  12. Nancy Grace needs to be locked up too. I can't believe they let her stay on the air.

  13. Ror, I thought the same thing about the sticker making it a 'game' so Caylee wouldn't fuss.

  14. Wish somebody would duct tape Nancy Grace's mouth.

  15. I don't know much of this story, but the heart sticker just made me burst into tears :(

    ReplyDelete
  16. i think it was just the mom, and she might of put the duct tape and the hearts on it because in her own demented mind it signified that she was doing the ungodly act out of love, not selfishness it's sick and sad anyways you look at it, what that poor little baby must of gone through, at least she is safe now. and i think the parents are just covering for their sorry excuse for a daughter

I have not been following the story since Nancy Grace voice is very annoying.

What are the attorneys for Caylee's sicko mom using for her defense? Can't her parents be charge with accessory to murder or whatever you call it?

  18. Nancy Grace got crossed off my list when I read that she was PISSED when the runaway bride was found alive. Bitch.

I saw the interview with the meter reader on GMA and I thought he was believable.

I'm with the others who don't understand WTH is going on with the grandparents. I've listened to the tapes of the phone conversations and Grandma seems to think Casey had something to do with the disappearance, but then they do an about face.

Speaking of the phone call tapes, how creepy is it to hear Casey (while in jail) getting pissed at her Mother and bff for not giving her some guy's telephone number? Yep, that was a priority all right.

  19. There are so many sordid characters in this story; I'm annoyed with Casey's mother for insisting Casey keep the baby because she wanted to be a grandmother (Casey wanted to put the baby up for adoption). Casey should have told her mother that if she wanted to assume full legal custody and all physical and financial responsibility for raising the baby then she'd sign over her legal rights as a parent and give her mother her grandchild to raise as her own. If she didn't like those terms, then the child would be adopted. This story is so repulsive, and it get worse each passing day.

Link to the court documents for the search warrants. Very interesting. Some very psychotic folks involved in this one indeed!

  21. the evidence against the mother is going to be overwhelming at trial. i think it will prove they have items that directly link the bag, the tape, etc., to that house. casey lied through her teeth from day one---well day 31, in this case.
i imagine part of clearing the meter reader included a polygraph.
i think if anyone helped casey, or for sure knew more than they've said thus far, it will be her brother, who's in the process of getting full immunity in return for assisting with casey's prosecution.
her parents are morons. they raised her. and it seems clear they know she did it because i don't believe they've visited her since caylee's body was discovered, have they?

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think I read the meter reader took a lie detector test and passed, FWIW.

Also, saw on Nancy Grace that since Caylee's body was identified the grandparents have not visited TotMom in jail.

IMO, the grandparents just desperately wanted to believe in their daughter's innocence and were blinded to the facts.

  23. this makes me weepy every time i read or hear about it. i hope the person or people responsible live a nice long life, so they can think about that baby's face every day.

here's more information about text messages she got, etc:

I don't see how many mother could have involvement on any level with hurting and killing her own child. That's seriously the lowest of the low in my opinion.

I'm technically not a mom for another two and a half months, but I flipped out when some lady nearly hit me spot-on in my fat prego belly with her shopping cart at the supermarket... It's a mother's job to protect her children, not hurt them.

  25. amber, you're a mom. you have a live baby depending on you to make all the right choices. his or her life is in your hands. his or her health and future are in your hands. you're a mom, alright. and congratulations!

  26. Regardless of ANY circumstances, this Casey bitch didn't report her damn kid missing for HOW long???

    Please!

People like me who could never have kids have to read and hear heinous news every day about mistreated kids and it makes me SICK.

Give me some time alone in a room with somebody who abuse kids. A room, a chair, a chain and some tools.

If Casey is culpable, fry her ass to a crisp. Slowly.

  27. What is WRONG with these people who think it is a-okay to go out and party like they're 18 when they have infants at home depending on them?????

There have been so many cases recently of mothers who have totally lost the plot when it comes to their kids: one barricaded her 2yr old in the kitchen whilst she went and partied for a whole weekend; then there is the tragic case of baby P in the UK who was horrendously tortured and murdered by his mother, stepfather and their pedophile lodger. Do these women have no conscience??? obviously not.

On the few occasions that i've been out in the evening without my kids (is that not what grandparent's are for??) half my mind is constantly on them wondering if they've gone down to sleep ok, what if they're too hot?? I could never, ever, ever leave them unattended; i take them with me when i hang my washing to dry for god's sake!

I hope this casey woman spends the rest of her life in prison, i'm guessing that other inmates won't treat her too kindly either. Good.

  28. cooper's mom - no kidding! and the few times i had to leave mine with a sitter i didn't know well, but came recommended, i hid the monitor and gave the receiver to my next door neighbor who took copious notes of what was done and said. paranoid? yep. there's nothing wrong with that when it comes to your kids.

i'm sad that life is sometimes wasted on those who don't deserve to have kids.

    ReplyDelete
  29. I also thought the sticker was put there to somehow convince Caylee that it was ok. Like you put a Big Bird band aid on a child when they have booboo to make it better. It's just sick and confirms that her mom was there.
As for the grandparents...I can understand them wanting to hold on to hope that their daughter is innocent, but come on...at a certain point you have to face reality.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Cooper's Mom, I can't tell you how often we have news stories about people leaving their kids (including babies!) locked in the car while they spend hours in a casino. And those are only the ones we hear about because someone happened to see them, and was a good samaritan enough to call the cops. Who was it who said a day or two ago in the comments that you should have to have a license to have a kid?

    ReplyDelete
  31. Mooshki, Tell me about it! In my state of Queensland it's recently become illegal to leave your kids (under 10) in the car AT ALL. The reason? Soooo many parents leave their kdis in the car whilst they go to the casinos or to the pub and get blind drunk, and then proceed to drive home - with their kids in the back seat. Un-fucking-believable isn't it?

And don't get me started on the mums who leave their kids in the outside playgrounds while they go shopping. I just don't get how people think this type of behaviour is acceptable.... it gets me so riled up!

  33. I've been following this story and have had the same thoughts about the guy who found Calyee. Yet if I found a child's skull I'd harass the police, too, until they took me seriously.

I'll definitely be watching the court case closely to see all the evidence against Casey.

  34. c17, don't get me started on dreamindemon!! I was on that site everyday, reading story after story of parents and adults doing terrible things to babies and children. My husband banned me from it months ago because it was making me depressed. People are SICK

    ReplyDelete
  35. I assume you mean the meter reader guy? He was cleared a while ago, and is only listed as a concerned citizen from what I've read.

To me it sounds like her mother is one sick f*cker who acted with her grandparents consent if not outright help. You don't have your live-in granddaughter missing for over a month and accept your daughter's "she's at the sitter". That's a totally hosed family, and I'm only sorry they aren't all sitting in solitary.

    ReplyDelete
  36. Oh, come on. If she had been abducted, her mother would have freaked and called her mother and they would have reported it.

He also couldn't possibly get all those personal items she possessed. Let's not tar someone who was trying to help. Same thing happened in my area when a girl was killed and dumped. Her classmates knew where she was and called the cops and the cops kept insisting they'd get to it and didn't until three months later.

Cops aren't exactly on the beat and working their butts off if they don't have to. Paperwork can be a bitch, you know?
