Now Lily Says Drug Use Terrifies Her

It is amazing what happens when a hundred websites all over the world talk about what Lily Allen said about how cocaine is just fine to take. Next thing you know every anti-drug group starts making phone calls and record labels freak out because the next thing you know the big box stores won't want to carry Lily Allen and she won't be allowed in the US again for any touring which means no tv appearances which means no money. So, what does she do?

Well, Lily didn't do anything. She had her people do something. Actually, I would not be overly surprised if Lily has no idea what they released on her behalf. She probably doesn't care and no matter what her people say, we all know how she really feels. There were no accusations from her people about being misquoted or that it was taken out of context.

Lily's people - "Did you really say these things about cocaine?"
Lily - "Oh, hell yes. I'm tired of people bad mouthing it. It's good for you. It's like a vitamin only much more expensive. Oh, and it makes your nose bleed. But, it's like a happy health club all in one snort. Smile, sweat, lose weight."
Lily's people - "You know people are upset right?"
Lily - "F**k em."

At what point the person who made the phone call goes back to their boss and says, Lily sounds really contrite and you get a statement that reads like someone who starches their underwear wrote it.

"Lily Allen would like to state unequivocally that she does not condone illegal drug use and has every sympathy with individuals and families whose lives have been blighted by drugs."

Uh huh.

  1. That's a great statement. I think every pr person should write it down for future use.

  2. People need to lighten up. Most of my friends have tried all sorts of stuff and they are all fine and dandy.

  3. well i wish people would reread what she was saying becasue she was talking about doing drugs not addiction.

why should the rest of us be denied any fun because a percentage of people can't stop at one toke or one line? because if that's the case i'd like to see booze, porn and gambling treated the same way.
its time for the government to start looking at addictions as a whole, not just the illegal ones.

  4. Well I've never heard her music, don't really know her outside of the gossip websites and have no intention of investing in her career.

I do know that it isn't wise for anyone to BRAG about or defend illegal drug use even if they are doing it regularly or casually.

Because it is illegal, publicly defending it is a bad career move.

The problem with cocaine is that physiologically, it can cause death the first time someone uses it.

And I don't see how (from her original quote) using it 3 or more times a week is "casual" use.

You know she sounds like the hookers that HBO does the documentary of. They say they are saving money to get out of that type of work. They are still working as hookers.

  10. Coke bores me. Never got off on it or saw the appeal of it. And from a political point of view, I'd never buy it and thereby support the organized crime syndicates.

I stick with very occassional use of mushies picked by friend and herb grown my another friend's mother. (Yes, his mother grows his weed).

  11. She's stupid and ugly and her purse doesn't match her outfit.

  12. She still is very unfortunate looking.

  13. There are way worst things people could be doing...I think what Madoff did is considerably worst than Lily Allen getting high or condoning it...Is like prostitution, a personal matter. And vikes/perks/lorocets are all heroin so how can you say one is ok and another isn't? B/c you can tax one, that's why..People need to chillax

I think Lily has been looking great lately..

  14. i have learned to not go ANYWHERE without an oxycontin, because god forbid i'll need it. with luck, every few months i have to throw that one out because it's all dinged up and worn down and broken.
would i prefer weed if i could get it? you betcha. what do i usually wind up with? booze.
what do i think is the worst of the lot? the booze. if i'm in that much pain, i don't pay attention.
but i'm only allowed so many oxys, and the mister doesn't approve of weed.
    it's a sad, sad world.

  15. Jax, I've been thinking about that for years - why is booze, and cigarettes for that matter, considered legal? Personally, I prefer the occasional tobacco-free puff to drinking something that once put me in an outhouse with an even more sick friend, thinking we were going to die.

And I agree with Pink Skull.

  16. Bunny, you want some of us to come have a chat with the Mister? We could explain to him that weed is a hell of a lot better than oxycontin.

We all know the power the drug companies wield. They don't want anyone using a cheap painkiller when they can charge hundreds of dollars for the latest "new and improved" pain meds.

And to make it clear I'm not biased by selfish interests, I've never smoked pot myself. Whether you legalize it in general or not, it's obscene that people with legitimate medical need can't get it.
