Blind Items Revealed

December 12, 2008

#1 - This guy is an A list television star and probably B in films he has done. Probably not any higher than B list on name recognition though. Oh, he stars in one of those crime dramas. Anyway, for the past year he has just had his paychecks sent to directly to various charities in the city where he films his show.

#2 - I guess this actor is considered an A list television actor although honestly, it is just the name of the show everyone remembers. Anyway, our actor spends about 5 hours a week every week at local hospitals reading to kids who are there and playing games with them.

#3 - This actress is B list. Hit network drama which I refuse to watch. Totally in contrast with her earlier more famous television role, this actress has a big soft spot. Over the past few years she has arranged for about 20 disadvantaged kids to go to private schools. She pays for all the books, uniforms and tuition. It costs her about $200,000 a year.

#4 - This actress is also B list probably by definition but has A list name recognition. She is also on a hit network comedy. She and her boyfriend have contributed many tens of thousands of dollars to various food banks and other food programs and spend countless hours volunteering at them as well.

#1 - Normally, I reveal all of the kindness items. However, in the case of #1, it is really important to him to remain anonymous. So it shall be.
#2 - Michael C. Hall
#3 - Marcia Cross
#4 - America Fererra

  4. As if I needed ANOTHER reason to love Michael C. Hall!!! Come closer, let me give him a big squdge!
The America Fererra thing is really cool since all of her $$ is new, and there is no telling when that gravy train will end.
Marcia Cross - still hard to like, but I can def appreciate the effort.
As for #1 - I respect him even more for remaining anonymous.
Must be nice to be able to part with that kind of dough.
I think it could be Sam Waterston.

  5. I think at the time of the blind, the consensus of opinion was gary sinise.

  6. I remember someone snarking about America Ferrera being uppity, but the #4 reveal makes me think she's really as down-to-earth as she seems.

The rest of these are all also great. There are plenty of us who say we would do these sorts of things if we had more money or time. It's great to know that there are people who actually go through with the kindness.

  7. Vis, Alec has been the reveal to a couple of negative BI's today. I think if it was him Enty would have mentioned the contrast in his behavior.

  8. sam waterston is a great guess, too. he's pretty active in social causes, I think. nice.

  9. I loves me some Michael C. Hall, and certainly remember his name, since he has been my favorite character in his last two cable shows. America Fererra can do no wrong. I knew Marcia Cross was a classy lady.

  10. I think it's remarkable--and laudable--that so many performers are this generous (with both money and time) to charities and causes once they achieve their success. It's even more amazing that so few of them feel the need to boast about it or use it as part of their ongoing publicity campaigns.

  11. it can't be alec baldwin, he's not the star of a crime drama. unless 30 Rock is moving in a new direction!

  12. The second one made my day. I'm a huge fan of 6FU and Dexter, so I loved reading this about Michael C. Hall.

  13. David D. I agree. It is so nice to find out a celeb's pleasant secret act of kindness instead of their nasty habits/behavior.

This is a nice way to start off the new year.

  14. i love every one more!

  15. I thought Vis was making a Ben Afleck type joke

  16. ms. snarky

  17. I'm still on the Gary Sinese wagon for number 1. Very sweet.

I LURV Michael C Hall. Six Feet Under and Dexter are two of my all time favorite shows. Very talented.

I wouldn't have thought Marcia Cross for 3 but that is amazing. Very cool. That is life changing stuff.

  18. ms. - duh! I am so slow! :)

    farmgirl - thanks!

  19. I have to say, that all the (admittedly meager) Gary Sinese gossip I ever heard is that Gary is super low-key, extra extra extra nice guy.
One of my sources is someone who waited on him.
I myself was a waitress for 16 years, and I will say that you can tell a lot about anyone's character by how they treat waiters. And I'm not talking about the tip, I'm talking about behaviors.

  20. Ms. that was my impression as well ;)

I'm on the Gary Sinese wagon for #1.

Honestly? I didn't think Marcia Cross had it in her, but that's awesome!

I think its wonderful that these people can find it in their hearts to share of themselves, their time, and their earnings, to help brighten other people's lives.

Ms gets me, she gets me so much.

    It's actually Fred Thompson.

  22. Maybe it's Mr. Magoo

  23. I am really loving the kindness reveals. :)

  24. I looked on IMBD, and Los Angeles is listed first in the "filming locations" section about "CSI:NY," and New York is listed last.

Law & Order is exclusively New York, except a few stunt crossover NBC cop show things, yes?

So it would make more sense that Ent might know Gary Sinise** or one of his close friends to get that info. Easier to get it in L.A. for Ent, that's all I'm sayin.'

**Am I ever spelling his name correctly? I look like a real rube.

    ReplyDelete
  25. I think Fred Thompson is a great guess for this one.

    ReplyDelete
  26. I'm on the Gary Sinise bandwagon. He seems like a sweet person.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Fred Thompson isn't on a show anymore, is he? He left to run for office and I don't recall seeing him again on Law & Order.

    ReplyDelete
  28. @ Vis
    Yes, babe, I get you.

And I think we found 2009's Ben Afleck.

    ReplyDelete
  29. You are correct, Ms. If Fred Thompson hadn't already left the show a few years ago, he would have been forced to, as he was running for president.

He's just a terrible actor. IMO

    ReplyDelete
  30. vis, ms snarky would have gotten you, too, but today we get ms hungover snarky....lol.

i love these people for giving back. everybody should. if you don't, make it a goal for '09.

  31. I was going to guess William Patterson from CSI. I can't really think of any movies he's done, but he's so totally Grissom in my mind that I'm probably missing the obvious ones.

Either way, thanks for all the kindness reveals Ent. I'll even make a point of stomaching some people I don't really care for in 2009, to support good people who do good things. :)

  32. I like your little picture BlahfrickinBlah.

  33. it hurt me to see that michael c. hall was one of the reveals. i love him too much (almost like the crazy michael jackson stalker fan who insists her name is billy jean) and wanted to seperate my love from him and now its just not possible.
jesus- what are you trying to do to a girl, enty? i am now that much closer to finding out where he lives and sleeping on his porch at night. lol

    ReplyDelete
  34. micheal c. hall btw, NOT michael jackson. just so we have that straight.

  35. I TOLD YOU IT WAS MICHAEL C HALL !!
