Today's Blind Items

#1 - This A list actor on a very hit network comedy show has been telling anyone who will listen about all the holiday giving he has been doing and how he has adopted several families in the LA area to give them a Christmas since they cannot afford one on their own. He talks about how he has been buying gifts and is going to be bringing the a holiday meal and it goes on and on and on. He isn't doing anything like that at all. He just likes that it makes him looks good. When his publicist found about the ruse, she decided to find an actual family and make good on at least some of the crap her client was spinning. When she approached the client about visiting the family she found, he declined saying he didn't have the time but autographed a couple of DVD's from his television show for them instead.

  1. Not sure, but I REALLY REALLY hope that this isn't Steve Carell...

  2. Is Scrubs still considered a very hit network comedy show? If so, my guess is for Zach Braff. He's such a douche bag and I can see him doing this.

Whoever this person is what an asshole.

Hope the Ghost of Christmas visits him at night LOL.

  4. My cousins live in NYC and saw Zach Braff drunk off his ass in a bar one time looking and acting like hell. I can't stand that pretentious pr*ck. It's hard for me to even watch Garden State because of him haha.

  5. I hope we get a reveal on this idiot. I am guessing Alec Baldwin

    ReplyDelete
  6. My thoughts too WILDCAT, Alec Baldwin is who came immediately to mind.

  7. if anyone needs to be made to look good to other people, it's alec baldwin.

i doubt it's steve carrell, although it sounds like something his character would do...lol.

off topic - did anyone see the movie last night with heather locklear? flirting with 40? her face looked so puffy. what's wrong with her? i read she wrapped it up just before heading into rehab. anyone know?

  8. The auto link for "television show" opens up to NBC site. Is this a clue? I'm not techno blog literate so please forgive the sherlock assumption if that's stupid.

    ReplyDelete
  9. Only Patrick Dempsey is that dumb, and as that good a publicist.

    ReplyDelete
  10. ASS HOLE.

Please, please, please reveal this one.

    ReplyDelete

kimpim - the autolinks are paid, not ent's choice. Probably not a clue.

This is definitely a Jackass blind. The publicist is saintly, though.

I would say that since NBC ditched Scrubs (it's on ABC for its final season this year), it's not a hit show.

It doesn't sound like something a young person would do. Sadly, it's probably Alec Baldwin.

  12. Oh-- I do hope this gets revealed!
    It is a good one!

    ReplyDelete
  13. Sounds like Charlie Sheen to me.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Both Charlie Sheen and Alec Baldwin are douche bags. But for me Alec Baldwin really takes the Cake.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I hope it's Alec Baldwin since I have no high expectations of him to begin with.

Dang I love Zach Braff too bad he's supposedly an a$$ how do you guys know this stuff LOL?

    ReplyDelete
  16. My first thought was Charlie Sheen. But is he really that bad of a guy?

    ReplyDelete
  17. you would think having an activist for a father would lead to at least doing some volunteer work, but i never hear of charlie sheen doing any. not that it means he's not doing it.

i still think it's alec tho.

    ReplyDelete
  18. Much as I love 30 Rock, it ain't a very hit comedy. It's still strugglign in the ratings, despite the Falin routines... So I don't think it's Baldwin.

    ReplyDelete
  19. Molly, I agree. She looked so different to me it was a bit distracting to the story line. Also, too much restalyn or something. Normally she looks great for her age but it wasn't really realistic seeing her as 39 last night.

On the blind it seems low enough to be Sheen, maybe Baldwin second guess. Please not Steve.

    ReplyDelete
  20. My first thought was Jason Lee. But I always think the worst about scientologists. Sounds like some of the humanitarian BS that comes from TC.

    ReplyDelete
  21. My first thought was Alec Baldwin. I think that at this point Charlie Sheen doesn't even bother to try to look good. He's an ass but this isn't his style.

    ReplyDelete
  22. The blind talks about adopting families "in the LA area"... wouldn't that be a clue that the actor appears on an LA-based sitcom? "30 Rock" films in NYC. Not that Baldwin couldn't "adopt" a family in LA but it seems that would indicate the actor spends most of his time on the West Coast.

    ReplyDelete
  23. kimi - distracted is a good word for it. i kept thinking that i didn't remember her face looking so bloated.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Jim Belushi, well-known a**hole!

    ReplyDelete
  25. I agree, 125records, this sounds like someone based in LA and therefore I don't think it's Baldwin.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Okay, so forgive my ignorance, but what are the "hit network comedies" at the moment? Alec Baldwin would be my go-to guess if 30 rock had better ratings(which it really should, the show is gold) and LA-based. The Office is filmed in LA-again, please god, do not let this be Steve Carell.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Yes, but any of those that you mention would just write a check and tell their publicist to 'make something happen'. They would be happy to get the gifts. Baldwin, Sheen and Belushi could certainly do this. To me it sounds like someone who has no children whom doesn't understand what he is toying with, like a Zach Braff. I hope this one is revealed. He's a dick!

    ReplyDelete
  28. Very hit comedy can only be Two and a Half Men. It is the number one comedy. Is there another show on that is doing THAT well in the ratings? If it is Two and a Half men then the award has to go to Charlie or ... could it be Jon Cryer?

    ReplyDelete
  29. There is no way this is Steve Carell. Does anyone watch Ace of Cakes? There was an episode in which they made a cake for a charity viewing of Get Smart. Basically this teen had cancer, and his wish was to meet Steve Carell. Steve was so moved by the kid and his family, he became extremely involved in the charity by the boy's mother to find a cure. This can't be him.

If you don't watch Ace of Cakes, I recommend finding this episode at least. It's adorable because you can tell Steve Carell is so starstruck to meet Duff.

My guess would be Charlie Sheen, for the same reasons everyone else has listed.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Cheryl I love that you said Charlie doesn't even try to make himself look good.

Probably Charlie or Alec either one I wouldn't cross the street to see them.

    ReplyDelete
  31. i don't see charlie sheen, i agree not his style.
and i don't even watch the office, (i know, shame on me) or 30 rock, but i ADORE steve carell, so i say no on him.
i CAN see baldwin doing it.
i don't think according to jim is still "very hit" is it?

what about patrick dempsey? don't like him much.

then there's: heroes, house, idol,(oooh, seacrest!), CSI,
    ER...
oh, why do i try. i suck.

    ReplyDelete
  32. oh, and i LOVE ace of cakes!

and i agree on the heather locklear thing. there were some scenes where her face was really, REALLY bad!
watched that one saturday, and "front of the class" last night, about brad cohen, the teacher w/ tourettes.
i had been looking forward to that one, and i thought they did a lousy job.
    anybody else?

    ReplyDelete
  33. Anonymous4:43 PM

    Neil Patrick Harris?
(I hope not, but just adding a new name!)
BTW, it says "hit network COMEDY," so we can rule out ER, Heroes, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Charlie Sheen. 100%.

C'mon people, the key word is VERY HIT show.

Unfortunately, 30 Rock is nowhere near a "very" hit (sadly it struggles for ratings despite it's brilliance), thus it's not Baldwin.

Scrubs isn't a hit, it was friggin cancelled by NBC and is only still around cause ABC needed the programming, thus it's not Braff. Plus, in what universe is Braff A-list??

Sheen's A-list, a first degree asshole, likes to lie and is on a VERY HIT network comedy. It fits him completely.

Stop throwing names out there guys, read the item closer.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Oh, and Bionic Bunny, it IS Sheen's style. I had the displeasure of having to work with Sheen on a project. I won't go into detail but believe me, this is totally something he'd do (right down to the refusing to at least make good on it and just sign a DVD from that craptacular show he's on).

    ReplyDelete
  36. Sheen was my first thought, but Braff is certainly known to be an A-1 douchebag. Still, Sheen's show is way more of a hit than Braff's.

Baldwin makes NY his home, and this one sounds clearly LA-centric, so I'm scoffing at the AB guess.

    ReplyDelete
  37. Patrick Dempsey is a jerk? How times have changed. I heard about him coming to Seattle to do location shoots for Grey's and there were many stories about how nice he was, how he had no ego, very gracious, kind, etc. Plus, Patrick isn't on a comedy. Grey's is a joke but that is another matter.....

  38. Hey everybody! I missed y'all..

Katy, I saw that Ace of Cakes. Made me want to reach thru the screen and hug Steve Carell.

This blind is soo Zach Braff. He reeks of doucheiness.

    ReplyDelete
  39. Sheen.

Baldwin seems like a douche when it comes to his personal life, but he actually seems to be fairly civic-minded. Also, he's based in NYC and 30 Rock's not a big hit.

Braff is an ass, but Scrubs isn't a hit either.

I don't like The Office, but I cannot believe that this is something Carrell would do.

All of the above mentioned have male publicists. This blind says the publicist is a woman. Also Charlie Sheen is not an A list actor, neither is Zach Braff, nor Jason Lee. But Hugh Laurie is. And he has a female publicist. Just sayin...

    ReplyDelete
  41. Hugh Laurie is not on a comedy.

I have no new names to add to the hat. Charlie Sheen's a good enough guess for me.

  43. brenda, love the connection about male vs female publicists, but is 'house' really a comedy?

    ReplyDelete
  44. I guess Entourage is cable so it doens't count, cause this smells of Piven. Wasn't he the top contender for leaving a dvd as a tip in a blind? If it can't be Piven, then I am going to say Neil Patrick Harris just because no one else seems to have.

    ReplyDelete
  45. Could House be considered black comedy?

Pretty much OT - I googled actor adopt family christmas. Came up with nada, but came across this little gem:

    http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/story/0,21985,24761828-2902,00.html

Sad to hear John Travolta starring in a remake of The Taking of Pelham 123. But I love Kelly Preston's comment about Christmas:

"We always take the kids sledding, we all love to sled down the backyard. And we go to the golf course. I love Christmas."

Golf course. Christmas. Maine. Yep, she's nuts.
