#1 - This kindness is not anything spectacular, but since it happened this morning, I thought I would share it. B-/C+ television actor with about six years on the same crime show. Also one of my all-time favorite characters from one of the biggest films of all time. Anyway, our actor was in line at LAX this morning at the ticket counter with about 100 "everyday people" in front of him. People in line were asking for photographs and getting autographs and so a ticket agent asked our actor if he wanted to be moved to the front of the line. Our actor said, "Why?" The ticket agent said they had a special policy for celebrities which caused our actor to say, "Let me know when you see one."
#2 - Speaking of airports and airplanes. Well not speaking really because I am writing. It seems that this former B+ 80's actor and now known for indies and his best friend was on an airplane this weekend and forgot to lock the bathroom door on the plane. Word of advice. If you are going to defile the plane by doing a #2, your fellow passengers would probably at least not like to open the door and see you do it. The woman in her 20's who happened to open the door didn't know who the actor was and just said sorry. When our actor emerged he was just as embarrassed as the woman.
Yay for number one. What a lovely bloke.
ReplyDeleteI know we usually say Sinise for the kindness ones, but he's on "CSI: NY" and was Lieutenant Dan in "Forest Gump" (a "biggest movie" of all time).
ReplyDeleteI'm usually up on my 80's stuff. Could be Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson or another rat packer. Don't think it's a Corey.
Ted Levine (the police captain from Monk) for #1? Played Buffalo Bill in "Silence of the Lambs."
ReplyDeleteJK Simmons? He's on The Closer (movie=Spiderman -- love him as J. Jonah Jameson.)
ReplyDeleteI was also thinking Vincent D'Onofrio, but I don't think Full Metal Jacket was that big -- certainly is a memorable character, though!
Ooh, great guess, Dave! I love him. "It takes the lotion..."
ReplyDeleteAlso, it can't be a lead on the show, or he would be at least B+ list, right?
ReplyDeleteOh my .. once again I have no clear idea but as much as I hate #4 from Friday and wanted her outted .. I can't wait to have you out #1 from today. Sounds like he is a wonderful guy. Big Holiday Hug to him!
ReplyDeleteJerry O'Connell
ReplyDeleteCrossing Jordan-TV show
Stand By Me-Movie
The first one sounds a whole lot like Gary Sinise to me.
ReplyDeleteJudd Nelson is the only person I can think of from the 80s that fits the clues.
Remember, people in line for a flight are getting excited enough to ask for pictures and autographed. I stand by Sinise.
ReplyDeleteIf I see Buffalo Bill in a t-shirt and jeans, I'd probably not recognize him.
The Jerry O'Connell guess is interesting but isn't his wife about to pop any minute?
Gary Sinise has only been on CSI NY for 4 years.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't recognize Levine as Buffalo Bill either, but as Captain Stottlemeyer. I can see Sinise being a good match too, I just would've called him B list or above, but we all know how subjective that can be. :)
ReplyDeletevincent d'onofrio was also in men in black.
ReplyDeleteTed Levine is a great guess for #1!
ReplyDeleteNow I'm going to have to go download "Lotion" by Greenskeeper, and I suggest you all do the same.
What about BD Wong from SVU. He is B-/C+ from SVU and Oz. Never the lead but recurring roles. Has been on SVU since 2002. Was Dr. Henry Wu in Jurassic Park.
ReplyDeletefor #2 matt dillon famous in 80's and now in indies("bukowski")!
ReplyDeleteand for #1 there are some clues but c+/b- tv actor,i don't know!
J.K. Simmons was also on "Law & Order" for several years (more like 10, though). "Monk" has been on the air for 6 years so Levine is certainly a good guess.

ReplyDeleteBoy, do I love number one, whomever he may be. I was thinking Vincent D'Onofrio, based on his Full Metal Jacket role, but Gary Sinise is also a really good guess.
ReplyDeleteAs for number two (ha ha), he just needs to learn how to lock doors. I'm just not as interested in the dude who took the public dooky as I am the dude who happens to be unpretentious.
Ernestine, as the book says, "Everybody Poops." :)
ReplyDeleteSpeaking of D'Onofrio, anyone hear whether he really did go to rehab? I know they're still filming with Goldblum, but I haven't heard a word about D'O since Enty's blind and the season postponement.
Would John Cusack work for #2?
ReplyDeletei would never, ever consider sinise a B- or C+ tv actor. he's way better than that.
ReplyDeletei also don't think 'forrest gump' was one of the biggest movies of all time. neither was 'stand by me.' i think this means what it says---ONE OF THE BIGGEST OF ALL TIME. like star wars or ET or titanic or some shit like that.
Victor Garber
ReplyDeleteAlias and Titanic
Myself, I thought that for a minute too, but Enty just said that he's never seen Titanic. VG was the best part of that movie.
ReplyDeleteMark Harmon NCIS
ReplyDeleteI would disagree and say that Forrest Gump WAS one of the biggest films of all time.... My first thought was Sinise.
ReplyDeleteI'm totally vibing on Cusack for #2 just because of the best friend thing but he was A list in the 80's yeah? ... but it could also be Corey Feldman (of Corey Haim bff fame)..
1)Ted Levine is a great guess!
ReplyDelete2)Judd Nelson, look at that guy's IMDB page, tons of indie movies, 5 next year alone!
'forrest gump' ranks 17th so it was bigger than i thought. but i would just never agree sinise is a B- or C+ tv actor. he's a very accomplished actor---there's nothing mediocre about him.
ReplyDeleteLike JW said, CSI:NY has only been on air 4 years---thats a bit far from 6. So I dont think Gary Sinise qualifies, whether Forrest Gump is big or not.
ReplyDelete1. David Caruso. Jade. Didn't it have some steamy sex scene? It's been forever since I've seen that movie. His character first appeared in 2002. 6 years. Wouldn't it just blow our little minds if it was really him.
ReplyDelete2. Disgusting. He was taking a dump with his best friend? Or is best friend a clue?
#1 Vincent D'Onfrio makes the most sense. He's been on CI from 2001-2008 and he was the bad guy 'bug' in Men in Black.
ReplyDeleteHe's also had 'character' roles in The Salton Sea, The cell, Ed Wood, and Full Metal Jacket -also HUGE.
Pomme...
ReplyDeleteMatt Dillon was in "Crash," huge picture, he's probably not it for number 2 (but it would be funny if it was)!
robert wagner is famous for #2
ReplyDeleteDon't even post Jerry O'Connell. I have met him and he is a pretentious JERK!
ReplyDeleteGary Sinise is A- at the worst. He is world class, and would do this, but I promise you, he is not a B anything.
ReplyDeleteI love Ted Levine for this too. Easily recognizeable, but not by name.
Y'alls turn to be mad at me. I first thought of.....Iced T. I don't know why. It's just who I thought of.
ReplyDeleteWagner is senile. Might have been him.
ReplyDelete...starring billy zane as the phantom (shitter)
ReplyDelete...starring billy zane as the phantom (shitter)
ReplyDeleteLAX is international right? So he's leaving the country for the holidays?
ReplyDeleteD'onofrio's daughter lives here in Sydney.Australia. He spends a lot of time here with her.
I'm gonna go with Vincent D'Onfrio for #1. He's been on L&O:CI for some years, and was "Edgar" in Men in Black, and I want to think he's a nice guy. BD Wong fits too but only because he was in one of ^my* all time faves "And The Band Played On".
ReplyDeleteFor number two..(ha!) I feel bad for the guy, once you're on the can and in the middle, if the door falls open or isn't locked all the way, there isn't much you can do except hope..or duck walk to the door.
#2 he says and his best friend, one of the coreys?
ReplyDeleteMIB is just not one of the biggest films of all time...but that is just my opinion - don't know what Enty would think.
ReplyDeleteI am going with Ted Levine - brilliant guess. Also thought Sinise was a good one but just didn't quite fit with the # of seasons of SCI NY
I love the Ted Levine guess. I remember the first time I saw Monk, and just about lost my s#!t when I saw Buffalo Bill was on that show.
ReplyDeleteAlso, YAY Harriet..."The Lotion Song" is one of the greatest things ever created.
How about Eric Stoltz for #2?

ReplyDeleteIf D'Onofrio is B-/C+ list, I'm a tree frog. :)
ReplyDeleteVincent D'Onfrio in The Salton Sea-Pooh Bear. Damn that was a role! He freaked me out. But I believe MIB is considered a big hit.

#1 IS CHRIS NOTH (LAW AND ORDER AND SEX AND THE CITY MOVIE)
ReplyDelete#2 is Lukas Haas. Best friend is DiCaprio.
ReplyDeleteI don't think #1 is Vincent D'Onofrio. If he was going out of the country, he could go to Stewart International Airport, which is in NY. (as opposed to going all the way to California)
ReplyDelete1. Sinise was my first thought, but I think he is higher than B-.
ReplyDeleteI don't think it's D'Onofrio. There is no way Full Metal Jacket is one of the biggest movies of all time; I think it's about moneymakers, not critically acclaimed films. Besides, FMJ has always seemed more culty than anything else.
I think JK Simmons is a great guess. He was always a recurring on Law & Order, and it seems that there were some seasons that he didn't appear. I wouldn't call Oz a crime show; it's more of a drama. The Closer has been on for 4 seasons and is entering it's fifth year of production.
2. The best friend thing is throwing me off. Are we meant to know him too or is Enty just setting the scene?
Assuming it's the latter, I think it's Matt Dillon. Crash was released as an art film (if I recall correctly), so that wouldn't be an aberration.
If we are working based on the former, Haas was never B+.
