Today's Blind Items

It seems as if the housing crisis has hit just about everyone, even celebrities. This recently divorced B list actor on a hit network show lost most of his money in his divorce. After the divorce he bought a new place which he could barely afford even with his salary. Being single and available he was spending every night out and not saving a penny. When the writer strike came along he didn't have any money at all and all of the furniture he had been leasing was taken from him. He was living in a 5,000 square foot house with a tv and a chair. When his castmates heard about his plight and that his house was going to be foreclosed they took up a collection and raised enough to pay his mortgage for the next year. Fell good story huh? It is until you realize that he has been spending all their kindness money on trips to Vegas and going out, and just thinking that his next payday is right around the corner. We'll see.

  1. All I know is it isn't Chad Lowe. (I know, he sprang to mind, but then I know where he lives and he didn't just move there.)

  2. dude who used to be on 'the practice'. dylan mcdermott.

  3. I'm assuming Ent is referring to a hit network show that is still on the air but not a lead in it. So that would rule out Dylan.

  4. For some reason John Stamos came to mind right away

  5. Why in the fuck does a single man need a 5000 sq ft house

I'm having a housing crisis too. Things could go either way at this point.

This guy should think about a nice condo.

  7. Is Balthazar Getty divorced yet?

  8. Haha No he's not Liz.. Sienna dumped him and I guess he's gonna try to get back with his wife now.. groveling and getting kicked in the nuts daily for a while me thinks..

  9. This dude seems like he's lost more than a few "common sense" brain cells in all those trips to Vegas.

OFF TOPIC - Re: Tween Actress on Heroin
At JustJared, he had a link to his new Jr. site that focuses on tweens, so I went to look for our girl. Picture of Vanessa H looking rough!

  11. "they took up a collection and raised enough to pay his mortgage for the next year."

These people are seriously overpaid then.

  12. I agree with Steph. John Stamos was the first name that came to my mind too.

  13. i thought dylan mcdermott but stamos is a really good guess. he's a pig anyway.

  14. I'm on the Jon Stamos bandwagon. He would have enough highly-paid castmates to get his mortgage paid for a year, and I'm pretty sure I've seen pics/gossip of him in Vegas.

  15. Ooooh, if John Stamos is homeless, he can bunk with ME!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Slurp! :-p

  16. John Stamos was not recently divorced -- it's been a few years.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Kiefer Sutherland divorced this year, but he's far from B list. I think.

  18. And I believe that they had a pre-nup going in. I mean she had her money and he had his, besides it's not like she could have taken him to the cleaners since her career pretty much took off once they started dating and she even branched out into acting. So I don't think the Stamos guess is a good one. Not sure about Dylan McDermott although his Brentwood house is up for sale

  19. I think Rebecca Romijn probably had enough of her own money where she didn't need to clean him John Stamos.
We have a friend who owns an exterminating company--he said some of the biggest, fanciest houses that he goes in are completely devoid of furniture--they spend everything on landscaping & leased cars to leave out.

  20. i'm thinking brad garrett.

  21. Stamos and McDermott don't seem right.

What about Brad Garrett? I don't know why, but he just popped into my head.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I was thinking Charlie Sheen but you guys made really good guesses

I was thinking Charlie Sheen, too, but I'd think that Brooke wouldn't be caught dead in an empty house.

The writer's strike started late 2007. So we'd be looking at someone who hadn't saved up money in 2006-2007 (but did have income) to pay mortgage.

I'm surprised this one didn't get labeled a Jackass.

  24. Yeah, Brad Garrett makes sense. I don't think this would be Charlie Sheen because he's recently remarried with kids on the way..doesn't really seem to completely fit the bill.

If it is John Stamos, my door is wide open haha

  27. The key word here is "recent"!!!

Which means it is NOT Stamos. He's been divorced for YEARS now. And Rebecca has plenty of her own money when they split. Jesus, it's been so long she dated Jerry O'Connell for several years, married him and is now expecting twins.

McDemott and Shiva have been divorced for awhile too. Not them.

Who split up in 2008, there's your answer

    ReplyDelete
  28. beth, i agree with you but i wanted to rule out mcdermott because i don't think they're divorced yet. they separated in '07 but only recently filed for divorce.

too bad tom arnold isn't on a show - i can see that dirtbag doing this.

    ReplyDelete
  29. For some reason, David Caruso popped into my head. Not sure if he's recently divorced, though.

    ReplyDelete
  30. the writer's strike was a year ago. And he had the house and furniture then...so it's not *too* recent.

    I'd say divorced in 2007.

    ReplyDelete
  31. Why the hell isn't anyone collecting to pay my mortgage for a year, or giving bailout money to re-jigger my loan? Oh yeah, that's because I pay my mortgage, even though property values have dropped and the property tax gods don't feel the need to re-assess value.

Sucks to be prudent in these times . . . no one gives a fuck about people who are struggling but still paying.

Sorry for the diversion from topic, but who gives a shit about a guy who had his mortgage paid for a year! and still blew the money on bullshit.

  32. i think about kiefer sutherland (divorced recently ,B list, party guy but nice in job) or david caruso (divorced but a jerk in job) so i says kiefer sutherland!

Suzanne - I completely agree!! I had my daughter 14 months ago and ended up leaving my job completely b/c I would've only brought $60 a week home after paying for daycare. So hubby and I are struggling to pay our $1200 a month mortgage, but paying it on time every month. We've canceled cable, home phone line, gym membership and every other non-essential thing we could think of. We haven't gone out for a meal or a movie since July '07. But thanks to the ever rising cost of living, I am now looking for an overnight job just so we can fill our oil tank this winter. But this a-hole actor, who deserves NOTHING, he gets bailed out by his overpaid, ignoramus castmates. This really sucks, and I hope those morons learn their lesson after he blows all of their money and still loses his precious 5000 sq. foot home!
Whew - sorry for the rant. It's just been a hard week.

  34. I vote Sheen. He didn't get remarried until this year anyway so it kind of fits.

    ReplyDelete
  35. Sheen, Caruso and Keifer are all A List TV Stars. B indicates that you are NOT the lead. All 3 of these men still hold their shows in seriously high spots, and are reeling in the money.

McDermott does seem like B, but he has been divorced from his wife for a couple of years. However, McDermott is not on a show now. It has to be someone employed right now.

    ReplyDelete
  36. i agree with Jamie's girl, sheen is close to the highest paid actor on TV and Sutherland and Sheen have families that would never allow then to beg for handouts

    ReplyDelete
  37. To add to what Sally said, isn't Sutherland the highest paid dramatic actor on TV?

I would say to Sheen and Sutherland.

Stamos has been divorced too long.

McDermott hasn't been on TV for a while.

Garrett seems like a good guess. However, considering he's been steadily employed for over a decade, I don't know that he would have lost that much in his divorce, the terms of which are here: http://extratv.warnerbros.com/2007/11/brad_garrett.php

It looks like he is paying about $650,000 per year. He was earning about half that per Raymond episode, and he gets a percent of the syndication money. He couldn't be hurting that badly, could he?

I'm really wishing this was Chad Michael Murray, but he and Sophia Bush divorced in December 2006. He would really deserve this, though.

    ReplyDelete
  43. Definitely not Charlie Sheen - I believe he is the highest paid TV actor right now.

Are you a fast typist? Have you ever transcribed audio before? If you have, there are lots of companies that subcontract their transcription work - which you can do at home. Most of it is digital audio, so you need to purchase a foot pedal that plugs into your computer. The software is free/shareware like ExpressScribe. The audio files are emailed to you and you email back the Word document.

Something to think about if you have done transcription before.
