Michael Crichton - RIP

One of my favorite authors. One of the most brilliant people ever.

In a statement released by his family, this is what they had to say about his contribution to the world.

"Through his books, Michael Crichton served as an inspiration to students of all ages, challenged scientists in many fields, and illuminated the mysteries of the world in a way we could all understand. He will be profoundly missed by those whose lives he touched, but he leaves behind the greatest gifts of a thirst for knowledge, the desire to understand, and the wisdom to use our minds to better our world."

  1. He was an M.D. as well. A brilliant mind. He lost his life to cancer, which is a terrible death by inches. RIP and thanks for the inspiration Doc..

What a brilliant man, such a loss. This guy made Stephen King look like a creepy hack, imo.

I was shocked to read that he passed away. Never heard gossip that he was sick. Think he was young to die.

Absolutely loved Four Patients. Always set the benchmark of what was to come with ER, Jurassic Park, etc.

  13. How sad! He was far too young to pass away. What a prolific guy, though. Wow. He left behind a sizeable, venerated body of work, which not a lot of authors can say.
