Cooking Oil Is Not Silicone
Attention Lisa Rinna and any other actress out there who is contemplating some kind of do it yourself plastic surgery procedure. Ummm. Don't. That is a lesson you can thank Hang Mioku for. As you can see Hang was an attractive woman when at 28 she decided to have her plastic surgery procedure. 20 years later she was out of money after having countless procedures. Instead of saying enough is enough, she managed to get a hold of some needles and when her supply of silicone ran out she decided that hey, cooking oil would not be a bad substitute and began injecting that into her face.
Umm, yeah. Doctors and her parents think Hang might have some kind of mental issues. You think? Apparently she thought the injections made her look more beautiful. I'm guessing she didn't have a mirror at home. Television viewers in Asia who have seen her story managed to chip in enough money to reduce the swelling in her face so that at least it is somewhat normal in size. It will never be the same no matter how much work is done. During the surgery to reduce the swelling doctors removed 260 grams of foreign substance from her face and neck. I don't know how much that is in American but it sounds like a lot. Yes, I know. America is the only country in the world not on the metric system and it is a big pain in the butt. I have become something of an expert on Fahrenheit to Celsius conversions, but the whole grams to ounces thing has me stumped. Apparently the US did try the metric system for about a week but gave it up when we found out we would have to spend money to change all the highway signs. Seriously.
So, if you are up late one night and are bored, maybe feeling a little sorry for yourself because you just ate your 23rd Twinkie snack pack and decide maybe a little 2am self plastic surgery is just the thing to get you back on track, take a look at Hang and then be proud of who you are.
Surgical addiction is a well known disorder. Shame on the doctors that continued to do procedures for her instead of getting her psychological help before she could do this to herself.
ReplyDeleteOk, Michael K. has these pictures posted after the "jump", could we not get the same courtesy here? I was JUST about to go to lunch...
ReplyDeleteWow!!! She looks awful and yes, she needs to be mentally evaluated.
ReplyDeletePriscilla Presley.
ReplyDeleteI don't say this to be mean, I just remember her awful problems after the "botox parties" some Hollywood ladies did there for a while.
good god. this is terrible. priscilla presley was a victim of a doctor who used the wrong stuff, supposedly. no thanks!
ReplyDeleteOMG this very same thing is done by pre op transexuals trying to have breast in poor Latin American countries, particulary Dominican Republic, Cuba and most of South America.
ReplyDeleteThey inject, cooking oil, olive oil, mineral oil into their chest all in the attempt to look as is they have female breasts because the high cost of silicone/saline is not within their reach. But I never knew someone putting it in their face, that is crazy
Definitely a mental illness. The original story said she'd get surgery after surgery, looking more disfigured than before, and she thought she looked even prettier.
ReplyDelete260 g = 9 oz.
ReplyDeleteEnty, the United States uses the Imperial system. Everyone else uses metric.
ReplyDeleteGo to this site for all your conversion needs: http://www.metric-conversions.org
260 g = 9.17123 oz
What a hot piece! Rawr.
ReplyDeleteIt reminds me of when people's faces get set on fire. She probably could've saved a lot of money doing it that way.
But all jokes aside, if they think she has mental issues then why didn't somebody stop her sooner into this? I realize that she's an adult but if Britney can get a conservatorship for shaving her head and showing her Britney then multiple surgeries over 2 decades should probably be a tip off that something isn't right, ya know?
I can't believe nobody stopped her when she started to look like that. How awful to feel that way about yourself.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny! Everyone that put in the conversion to ounces is obviously smarter than I am.
ReplyDeleteI was sitting here thinking....hmmmm... an 8 ball is 3.5 grams and (duh) and 1/8th of an ounce so an ounce is 28 grams - heck - she did almost 10 ounces.
I've been working on drug cases waaaaaay too long.
Body dysmorphic disorder

a smaller "brick" of coffee is 250g
ReplyDeleteApparently, her family DID try to get her help and doctors DID refuse to do further surgery...but there are always crooked doctors willing to make a buck. see below:
ReplyDelete"The Daily Telegraph in London reports Korean woman Hang Mioku, 48, had her first cosmetic surgery procedure at 28 and was hooked, moving to Japan for more.
Eventually surgeons refused to carry out any more work and she returned home, where her face had changed so much her family didn’t recognise her.
Ms Hang’s parents took her for treatment for her addiction, but it didn’t last. She soon found a doctor who would give her silicone injections and he even gave her a syringe and silicone so she could self-inject, the paper said.
When her supply ran out, she used cooking oil.
Her face became so large compared to her small body that local children called her “standing fan”, the newspaper reported.
After appearing on Korean TV, viewers sent donations so she could have surgery to reduce the size of her face. The first of several operations removed 60g of oil from her face and 200g from her neck.
Her face has been left scarred and disfigured, and Ms Hang said she would like her old face back."
By the way, Lisa Rinna finally wised up and said she realized how awful she looked. I don't blame her as much as some others, because she always had huge lips, so rather than trying to "improve" herself, I think she was just trying to hold on to what she looked like when younger. An impulse we should all be able to understand, however misguided it turns out to be. :)
ReplyDeleteLisa Rinna's lips are horrible. Why did it take this long to wise up. Is she another Jessica Bimbo Simpson lol?
ReplyDeleteK, we're not supposed to feel sorry for this woman, are we? 'Cause...um...I don't.
ReplyDeletegillybean, I was JUST about to sit down with my lunch while browsing CADN...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the impromptu diet aid there Ent. You're a pal...
Kara, you've been working drug cases too long and I've been working botched boob job cases too long. As an aside, all edible oils go rancid after a time. So that stuff under your skin and not digested will start something akin to flesh eating bacteria. Nice.
ReplyDeleteAhh...where's my garbage can?
ReplyDeleteI need to throw up.
This is all just too gross.
Cooking Oil. Oh No.
HH, I may not feel sorry for her per se, but I don't blame her entirely. Mental illness isn't necessarily a person's fault.
ReplyDeleteGod, Ent, thanks for helping me stick to my diet! No lunch for me today...blech!!
ReplyDeleteBad Fish, fair enough. I guess I can feel somewhat empathetic towards a mentally ill person. The key word being "somewhat".
ReplyDeletewell I am glad some people know how to convert because I would have guessed about the same amount as several liters of Coca-Cola.
ReplyDeleteWhat. The. Fuck.
ReplyDeleteEasy way to convert metric to imperial:
ReplyDeleteTwo and a quarter pounds of ham, weighs about a kilogram.
a litre of water, is a pint and three-quarters.
Remember those, and the conversions are easy!
