Today's Blind Items

What network drama is in danger of shutting down production because its lead has come down with the "flu"? The flu is actually a really bad drug habit that needs attention now. Producers and writers have been scrambling for the past week to figure out a way to write the character out of the next few episodes so the actor/actress can get help.

  1. i hate to guess this, but i'll say christopher meloni and really hope that i'm wrong.

  2. Damn this is hard, it has to be a show where the lead IS the show, hmmmm Johnnie Lee Miller from Eli Stone or Cristian Slater in his new show?

    ReplyDelete
  3. Lee Pace from Pushing Daisies?

Peter Krause from Dirty Sexy Money

    ReplyDelete
  4. Damian Lewis from Life? (Hope not, though.)

    ReplyDelete
  5. That guy from Life on Mars?
Except I think he is way too hot -

I like the Christian Slater guess

Can't be Lee Pace - that is a comedy - whew!

    ReplyDelete
  6. I hope it isn't damian either, i think he is unusually hot.

  7. Oooh, this is juicy!!! I don't watch a lot of network dramas though so I don't really have a lot of guesses. It doesn't say "hit network drama" either so it could be anything, really.

    ReplyDelete
  8. This is just a wild guess---Hugh Laurie from House? The show could not be done without him.

Whoever it is, I hope that s/he gets the help they need, whether the writers can write around them or not---whatever the show is, it will be a lot harder to write around a dead actor than one in rehab. One is a lot more permanent than the other.

  9. teddymac, i hope it's not hugh laurie either.....

    ReplyDelete
  10. no no not Hugh

make it someone really sucky, PLEASE

    ReplyDelete
  11. The girl from new 90210-the one that was on Degrassi.....

    ReplyDelete
  12. Reefer Sutherland and 24?
    is that even on anymore?

Ellen Pompeio and her clutch full of coke?

    ReplyDelete
  13. My first thought was Hugh Laurie but Keifer Sutherland is a good guess too. Although his thing has always been booze, I think.

    ReplyDelete
  14. Keifer has been in a lot of pics lately and looks GREAT (but I am biased)

    ReplyDelete
  15. Krause from Dirty Sexy Money could be right.

There have been no casting sides released for the show since episode 2.10 early this month. So either the show has been canceled, or they have hit some kind of production road block.

    ReplyDelete
  16. Uh...last time I checked, Chris Meloni was one of an ensemble cast. I would never deem him the SVU lead. He's as much a lead as Hargitay or Belzer, and I don't think it's them, either.

Also, I don't think this is Kiefer. I truly think that dude learned his lesson, and 24 JUST started up again; I can't really see them shutting down the set again to deal with another one of Kiefer's drug jags.

I think everyone on 90210 is on drugs, and I'm sure the producers don't give a shit. Keeps the girls skinny, you know? I don't think it's that show; can they afford to shut down production? I don't watch the new 90210 (SACRILEGE!), so I don't know if that Grimey girl is the lead. I know that I hate her teeth and she needs to eat a sandwich or four, though.

Hugh Laurie? Hell no. You can't do House withOUT House. Besides, I'm with a lot of you -- not him! Anyone but him!

I think Yellow's sleuthing uncovered the real deal: this is totally Peter Krause.

    ReplyDelete
  17. Taylor Momsen from Gossip Girl.

    ReplyDelete
  18. I don't think it's Kiefer, but I'll ask my sources.

I thought Christian was all cleaned up because of having kids and all....

Peter Krause, don't think so. He's so into the health thing, I don't think he'd pollute his body like that.

But I don't know who it could be either....

  19. It points to Hugh, which I sure as hell hope isn't the case. But considering House is already into filming the second half of its season, imo it wouldn't really have to worry about doing a shutdown, etc. It'd have to be something that is closer to the mark in filming, etc.

  20. It points to Hugh, which I sure as hell hope isn't the case. Especially since he had the "flu" at the Emmy Awards. But considering House is already into filming the second half of its season, imo it wouldn't really have to worry about doing a shutdown, etc. It'd have to be something that is closer to the mark in filming, etc.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I thought of Keifer too.

Christian Slater was just on Howard Stern and he sounded pretty together.

    ReplyDelete
  22. OK, this is the scoop I got from my H'weird connection.

Kiefer is clean clean clean. Good boy, here's your biscuit.

But there have been rumors that David Caruso is out of controlo.

So he's my guess! (Never saw what the fuss was about him anyway *meow*)

    ^..^

    ReplyDelete
  23. Jonathan Rhys Meyers from showtimes The Tudors.. He looks like a druggie in most of his pics..

    ReplyDelete
  24. darn network sorry :(

    ReplyDelete
  25. Caruso?

Also, we're all guessing men. He said "actor/actress" so it could easily be a woman and we're all guessing wrong by guessing male.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Desperate Housewives

    ReplyDelete
  27. Just because I don't like her and agree with Beth that we need a few girl guesses, Jennifer Love Hewitt.

    ReplyDelete
  28. FWIW: Hugh Laurie wasn't at the Emmys because he had the flu.

    ReplyDelete
  29. d, I mentioned that above.

Btw, is it just me or did they remove the delete comment feature?

    ReplyDelete
  30. No real hints, either.
I looked through most of the network dramas (excluded most new ones), and no one jumps out...

    ReplyDelete
  31. I can't believe no one has guessed Ellen Pompeo and her bloated meth face. Guess I'll have to do it.

    Ellen Pompeo.

    ReplyDelete
  32. Sorry, Jax, I somehow missed your Pompeo guess when I perused the comments.

    ReplyDelete
  33. The emmys were so long ago in gossip terms. Plus House is a drug addict so Hugh being one would be just way too method. If its the gossip girl with the emergency hospital stay that seems too obvious. I fear Eliza Dushku from The Dollhouse because production did shut down, but the show hasn't aired yet! I think this is a women for so reason. Just a feeling.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Lindsay Lohan from Ugly Betty. Duh.

    ReplyDelete
  35. It cant be Lindsay Lohan, she was never the star

    ReplyDelete
  36. just testing someone stole my email

    ReplyDelete
  37. I'm back!!! someone hijacked my google email account. this has been four days of hell! who would want my email?????

but on to the real issue.

    chris meloni - ensemble.

house - god I hope not.

so, a lead who the show can't go on without?
possibly that flash back to the 70's guy, but who cares? might be house. he has a track record of success, and it is his show. or, on CBS, the mentalist. can't do it without him, right?

    ReplyDelete
  38. p.s. totally off topic but I'm so happy to be here!

    ReplyDelete
  39. America Ferrara. Okay that was a joke but they absolutely cannot do without her. Ugly Betty is America Ferrara.

Who else besides Hugh and America are that indispensable?

    ReplyDelete
  40. How about Kate Walsh from the Practice?

    ReplyDelete
  41. My guess is Vincent D'Onofrio from Law and Order: Criminal Intent. I hadn't watched it in awhile and when I tuned in last week I was shocked at his appearence. Bloated and aged.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Its not Hugh.

Vd'O is a good guess but he really seemed to be doing better after Carin had their second child. And with Jeff Goldblum to take the Chris Noth load, I think LOCI is alright.

I'm going with Kathryn Morris of Cold Case. She and Jennifer Morrison of House share the same dealer.

    ReplyDelete
  43. I'm going with Ellen Pompeo. She's the lead but Grey's could go on without her.

Guess we'll figure this one out in the next few weeks?

    ReplyDelete
  44. Actually it was reported Law and Order: CI was supposed to debut on Nov. 7 - but it has now been pushed back to 2009....this was just reported today.

    ReplyDelete
  45. I don't think its Shenae Grimes from 90210, she is cranked on something (see video from buddytv) she can be written out and it will go on. Look at Shannon for the first 90210.

Taylor Momsen is on something too, but again Little J could totally be written out.

I have to go with Caruso because his one liners makes me want to poke my eyes out!

    ReplyDelete
  46. Hugh Laurie was the first person I thought of.

He seems to have been the first guess in several BIs about foreign-born TV stars behaving badly. Perhaps the drugs aren't agreeing with him.

Pompeo is surely on something, but everyone hates her on Grey's. The show would totally go on without her.

Also, if they could work without Peterson on CSI, they could work without Caruso on CSI: Miami.

    ReplyDelete
  47. Brainy- Are those rumors true about Jennifer Morrison being hopped up on something? I thought I heard that somewhere. Also, Vincent Dononfrio used to be so cute, his appearance has changed so much!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Simon Baker from The Mentalist? I snooped around the casting sites, and The Mentalist, is having irregular release dates for the sides.20 days between episodes, only 2 episodes in one month? That usually means trouble in production.

Also, CBS is not making a huge stinker in the press for having the first new hit show of the season.Last night it had more total viewers than Grey's Anatomy, last week. Not that it does better in the demo, but still, CBS skews to the elderly, they don't seem to mind, and they should be all over making a hoopla about having the #1 new show for the season, and they are not.

    ReplyDelete
  49. Taylor Momsen, for sure.

    http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/the_awful_truth/b65322_more_gossip_girls_sickness.html

    ReplyDelete
  50. I don't think it's Hugh Laurie, he's way too sophisticated for a drug addiction THAT late in life. It would be ridiculous. Plus his wife moved to Los Angeles recently which means the cause of his depressions is removed. No, not Laurie. 'though the thought of "House MD" without the House MD is hilarious.

    ReplyDelete
  51. Oh I didn't know that Vincent was back on Law and Order CI. If that's true then it's probably him. I do know a little about his personal past demons.

He definitely had a problem before so if he's supposed to star in L&O CI it's him.

I don't know why they gave him another chance. He had a pretty bad habit before.

    ReplyDelete
  52. It's Vincent Donofrio on Law & Order, Criminal Intent. He apparently collapsed twice during production in the past and the current season has been shut down so that they can shoot & air all 16 episodes every week NEXT YEAR!

  53. Vincent D. is a great guess. Oh, but where is the cunt known as Ernestine to tell you he's not the lead?

Ernestine, you and Jax and Bad Fish, the skank formerly known as Trix the bitch, need to up the meds. Some of us like to read without posting and you bitches start 98% of the fights here and lots of us are sick of the disruption.

Just check out the way Ernestine has to make a point to knock Molly's guess with her typical bullshit "Uh..." response.

Go get laid bitches, you obviously can't get a man and are taking it out online.

Back to the good stuff, I think V.D. is the answer. Good job, ladies.

    ReplyDelete
  54. Katja, that's what I would like, too, for people to be nice. That's all I want so I can go back to peacefully reading.

    ReplyDelete
  55. Don't think it's Hugh Laurie. Considering he plays a raging drug addict, and Cuddy is always threatening to force him into rehab, it would be really easy to write a rehab story line in if it was him. The shows would suck, but the other doctors could carry it while he was gone for a few eps.

Hope it's not d'Onofrio because I couldn't care less about that guy or that show, which would make this blind so much less juicy and fun.

    ReplyDelete
  56. I'm completely new here so forgive me if this is a dumb question...

Do we ever get to find out the answer to these blind items? Because I've been trying to find the answers to previous posts but I can't find any.

    Thanks for your help. :)

    ReplyDelete
  57. HOUSE would never work without Hugh Laurie, even with a rehab storyline. And people would suspect something is really wrong with Laurie for the show to write him out for a few episodes.

    ReplyDelete
  58. Pixie, Entertainment Lawyer does a "reveal" twice a year and usually reveals most of the blind items that he wrote. No reveals if he brought the blind item over from another site.

    ReplyDelete
  59. Thank you for answering my question Anon, I appreciate your help! :)

    ReplyDelete
  60. Oh, hi Anon! Good ol' pal! You actually had my (bemused) attention until this line:

"Go get laid bitches, you obviously can't get a man and are taking it out online."

Well, I actually live with a man. He's not my roommate, brother, uncle, cousin or dad, either! We're actually quite fond of each other, and sometimes we do consummate our relationship -- which I guess makes me a worthy person in your eyes, right? Because I'm a female and I'm hetero and I happen to be (monogamously) sexually active?

You are such a sad, sad, sad little limp-dicked simpleton. As if I give a flying turd what some mysogynistic idiot troglodyte fucktard has to say about my comments.

You can get fucked by a double-ended dildo, Anon. And keep starting shit. You're not gonna shut me up.

    ReplyDelete
  61. I don't think it's Vincent D. He's been a world-class Drama King on the set and his collapses were considered attention stunts. He was almost fired. Hence the show bringing back Chris Noth and alternating episodes between the two. If Vinnie had a drug addiction affecting production, the producers would happily push his ass out the door. They're just looking for a reason at this point.

To Anon. I'm in total agreement with you about Bad Fish - especially your meds comment given some of her completely 'out there' accusations against Enty. Well, hell, her BS with most of the posters here, in fact.

I'm okay with Jax and Ernie. Peace out.

    ReplyDelete
  62. All Ensemble Casts are out. That's Greys, Housewives, CSI Miami, Private Practice, Betty.

    ReplyDelete
  63. This Blind is BS. It's so broad! You've all done a good job witht he guesses, but let's face it- this one is a needle in the haystack.

ms snarky- sorry about the e-fraud, girl. I had a friend whose yahoo was swiped- sounds bizarre, and IS but also pretty violating!

    ReplyDelete
  64. This isn't the first time Vincent D has had problems. That's why they rehired Chris Noth. If he's still working that way there should be no problem writing Vincent out.

Please no on the hot red-head from Life or Hugh Laurie. I could sooooo see it being one of the CSI programs.

    Good one ENT.

    ReplyDelete
  65. Solved. From TV Guide:

"The season premiere of Law & Order: Criminal Intent has been pushed back to early 2009, just days before it was scheduled to begin its eighth-season run on USA."

    ReplyDelete
  66. Wow........

Never imagined I could find so many geniuses in the same "room"...!!

And such a well-fitted title: "blind items".....

Frankly, I hope this is just a media ado about nothing -even for Mr. Caruso, whom I can't stand to watch on CSI.

But seriously, people, do you really "read, watch, or listen" to the news...??

Lipstick jungle, and Christian Slater's series were "axed out" -unlike LOCI, which is currently shooting back-to-back episodes of Vincent D'Onofrio...!!

I almost forgot to congratulate the handful members of "The Vincent D'Onofrio bashers club" on finally managing to find a place where they can happily vent -blindly.

    ReplyDelete
  67. Blind item = room full of idiots.

Apparently all of you gossiping can't make one complete brain if you were all put together!

    Hugh Laurie??
    Chris Meloni??
    Vincent D'Onofrio??

What would you guys be doing if you weren't bashing people? Besides that, what would you do with a brain if you had one?

    ReplyDelete
  68. WOW - what a place to stumble across first thing in the morning. As a member of a moderated board dedicated to Vincent D'Onofrio and Law & Order Criminal Intent, I cannot believe that people are so cruel to actors and actresses that they don't know anything about.

Mr. D'Onofrio is an incredibly talented actor and doubt he's done anything to personally attack anyone here, so why do you feel the need to attack him (or any of the other people mentioned)? Are you all that perfect (or unhappy) in your own lifes that you need to find fault with public figures.

But, let's get back to the 'blind' - NETWORK show? Last I knew USA was considered a cable network, USA pushed LOCI's release date back to allow the uninterrupted airing of all 16 episodes, unlike last season that there was a huge gap due to the writer's strike.

Mr. O'Onofrio collapsed on set one time - due to exhaustion from carryiing the majority of the filming load. Chris Noth was brought in so that Mr. D'Onofrio would STAY with LOCI and reduce the stress of his workload. Dick Wolf has been a staunch supporter that without Vincent D'Onofrio there is no LOCI!

The man is a talented actor but a private, family man. And this 'blind' is just that - a free for all for narrow-minded people to bash any name they see fit to throw out there. I feel sorry for all the negativity and wonder how sad and pitiful your lives must be if you can't even play nice amongst yourselves.

    ReplyDelete
  69. A whole website of Trolls, how droll. You have no idea of what you're talking about and you just like to get things started. Vincent D'Onofrio doesn't deserve the venom you people are handing out. In fact the whole lot of actors can do without your poison. If you don't like someone at least have the decency to find out the facts before you turn RUMORS into mountains. Vincent D'Onofrio IS NOT IN DANGER OF BEING FIRED, NEVER WAS, AND NEVER HAD A DRUG PROBLEM. What he was in danger of is overwork and being a human with a cold. Imagine someone spreading this kind of rumors at your own job. Shame on you, all of you for being vicious, small minded jerks. No actor deserves you as "fans"

    ReplyDelete
  70. I can't believe the crap that I am reading here, especially about Vincent D'Onofrio. I will leave it to the fans of the others being maligned to defend them. As for Vincent, if he is guilty of any addiction, it is being a workaholic. That's what led to his collapse in 2004, not the misinformation posted here. Vincent continues to work on many other projects besides LOCI and planned to leave the show if a solution to his LOCI workload wasn't found. That's why Chris Noth was brought in. Rather than looking for a way to push his ass out the door, the powers that be at LOCI and USA are doing everything they can to keep Vincent on the show.

Far from being a "Drama King" and difficult to get along with, here's what some people who have actually worked with Vincent recently had to say:

Tim Lajcik, an actor who played one of the leads in an independent film Vincent directed this summer said in a recent e-mail "I don't recall ever taking part in a collaborative effort as enjoyable or as satisfying ... Vincent made it so."

"Vincent's deft and patient direction not only brought out great performances from the young actors, but he managed to diffuse any tensions that arose ..."

"Truly, I couldn't have been more impressed with the way Vincent handled his business."

This fall at the Toronto International Film Festival I personally met and discussed Vincent with the Director, two co-stars and the screenwriter of his film "The Narrows." They described Vincent as "a great guy with a big heart" who was "amazingly talented" and "so helpful".

Vincent is currently busy filming back to back episodes of LOCI. Does all this sound like someone who is drugged out? I think not.

Vincent D'Onofrio is an intensely private family man who is also an amazingly talented actor/director. He is into the business because he loves it, not for publicity or recognition. Unfortunately, some people try to fill the publicity void with venom such as posted here. Vincent is also known as a man of integrity. Too bad some of the posters here lack that particular quality.

    ReplyDelete
  71. Oh please! You people trashing Vincent D'Onofrio are so off base.

If you respect anyone, I would think it would be the long-time show biz professional Rita Moreno who played D'Onofrio's mother on LOCI last season. In a recent interview, she shares her thoughts about working with D'Onofrio:

Q: Recently, you had a multiepisode arc on "Law & Order: Criminal Intent" as Detective Goren's dying, schizophrenic mother. Vincent D'Onofrio, who plays Goren, is such a quirky, interesting actor. What was it like working with him?

A: Like bread and butter. Wow! I love him. The very first day I came in for the first episode, as we were rehearsing, he stopped the scene and said to me in the most polite way, you know how he speaks so softly: "Excuse me, Rita, would you mind if we don't allow each other to finish each other's sentences?" I knew exactly what he meant -- just make it look improvised. And that's all I did. I got the most wonderful letter from the producer who said to me, "I can't remember when I've seen Vincent better, and it's because of you." I just love that man."

Yeah, that sure sounds like an irresponsible drug-addled about-to-be-fired loser to me.

Do you really not understand how stupid you sound when you post nonsense you know nothing about and that can so easily be disproven?

    ReplyDelete
  72. I guess you folks haven't heard about Vincent D'onofrio's charatable works.. oh but that's not juicy enough now is it.. how he contributes to meals for veterans.. hmm.. not very contraversal.. how he helps young actors have a voice..guess that's not food for your cryptic fodder either..he has made a name for himself in Independent films and is greatly respected by other actors and critics alike, and IS LOCI..maybe you should learn a little about the people you post about..maybe you'll get lucky and not get sued by some of your victims.. you know.. like the *enquirer* and rags of the like.. oh wait.. you ARE of the like.. oops

    *bug*
