Based on the clue, I would say the show is an actual hit, as opposed to a critical hit. I think Enty would have made the distinction. Also, I would guess it is someone in a supporting role, not a lead (i.e. not Kyle Chandler).
Anyway, I think it's Eric Close. The religious ones are always closet cases.

And you can't even call it strictly a "network drama" anymore, due to its sharing arrangement with Direct TV. Besides Kyle Chandler is well-known and recognizable enough at this point to qualify for B status.
