A Celebrity Who Can Cook

As you know, it has been my mission of late to slam celebrities who come out in whatever interview they happen to be giving to say they are the greatest cooks and they cook all their meals and blah, blah, blah. Well for once I have found a celebrity who apparently can cook. And guess what? She hasn't said jack about it which means it is probably true. Gordon Ramsay is going to be hosting his what seems like millionth television show which will be aired in the UK. It is kind of like 30 minute meals but without the annoyance factor. It is actually going to be called Cookalong Live and going to be an hour in duration. Of course 30 minutes of it will be bleeped out because of Gordon's cussing, but it should still be more entertaining than 30 minutes of Yum or EVOO.

One of Gordon's first guests in the live program? Victoria Beckham. Yep. I know. It doesn't look like she eats, but according to Gordon t least, she can cook. He even says she cooks well. "Victoria can cook. We went round to dinner at her and David's recently and we had a great meal. We had a really nice halibut and a yellow tomato soup with pesto." Now, coming from a celebrity, I would say he is just trying to plug his show, but I don't think Gordon would be shy about his opinion. He will trash a celebrity if they can't cook, so I guess Victoria actually knows what she is doing. And fish? That is a tough one to cook. Now granted, since Gordon was coming she probably cooked about 40 pieces of fish and gave him the best one, but still, she managed to get at least one right. And the best thing? No interview where she brags about her cooking skills.

  1. I refuse to believe it. She probably hired a caterer, who then had to leave before Gordon got there.

  2. Well then she must have improved drastically from 6 weeks ago. How you make a jump from 4 years of minced meat to yellow halibut in that amount of time, I don't know, unless you have a very clandestine caterer. Maybe David and the boys now eat yellow halibut everyday.

  3. Maybe she's just good at following a recipe?

  4. He didn't say if he was allowed in the kitchen - I say she had a ghost cooker.

  6. I will say it once I will say it a million times, the English are NOT known for their cuisine.

In all my time in the UK, I think I only ate at an English restaurant ONCE, got sick as a dog and never went back. From that moment I cooked all my own meals.

Yeah how the hell does he know if she actually cooked it or not? She has plenty of staff. Did he watch her do it?

In the picture everybody is smilling but her. Is she against smiling or afraid to ruin the makeup?

  9. I agree with everyone-maybe she took it in and microwavedit. I think if she spent too much time near a heat source she would melt.

  12. Mooshki, even if she DOES happen to know how to read and DID follow the recipe, there's still no accounting for the fact that she actually produced something edible and tasty! I call utter HORSESHIT. The verity of this would require her to taste what she had created, and I refuse to believe that this ho ever eats.

Hired help, Enty. Victoria Beckham does not cook SHIT. I'm sure she only consumes cocaine, Vodka, and pills. She totally got herself a caterer and barfed up the fish right after dinner. I'm convinced she ordered the entire meal, if only because I've done this kind of shit before. You show up, drop the food off and plate it for the client, and skedaddle.

Regardless, it'll be hilarious to see Vicky try and understand as Gordon tells her to butterfly a filet or something. Bring it. I love alllll the culinary dumbasses on his shows.

  13. i have a theory about her not smiling:
my mother used to not laugh without covering her mouth or smile a lot because her teeth were bad (according to what she tells me).
since the brits have notoriously bad dental access, d'ya think maybe that has anything to do with it?
or is she just really a bitch?

  14. I can't imagine her doing her own cooking (or eating), but you never know.

Speaking of celebs who can cook, you might be surprised to hear that Daniel Craig used to work as a chef. Also, the late comedian Danny Kaye ("The vessel with the pestle has the brew that is true!) was an amazing cook...he was even praised by Chef Jacques Pepin and Ruth Reichel.

There's a page about celebrities who can cook at http://tinyurl.com/3pupw2 . Vincent Price, Christopher Walken, and the actor who played Mr. French are all on the list.

  15. bionic, I could go for that if they didn't have more money than they know what to do with (dental implants, veneers etc). Plus she was just out on tour and had to open her pie hole to sing. I think it's her trying to appear intelligent and sophisticated.
