"Alex. Could I Get An Original Idea For $200?"

I promise this post is not going to be about Jennifer Aniston. Yes, I know her publicity people want it to be about her which is why the damn story came out, but instead I am going to make it about how no one in Hollywood wants to take any kind of chance anymore. There are stories floating around courtesy of the Aniston camp that there is a script and plans for a sequel to The Break Up. The first film which was a disaster critically and in the money making pile like all of Jennifer's films obviously was not torture enough for the audiences of the world.

One question. Why? If you need to make some stupid comedy, there has to be a better script out there somewhere. I mean writers all over the world are just cranking stuff out everyday and this is all that managed to rise to the top? Is there really nothing else left that you are going to make a sequel to a film which no one managed to see the first time around. Oh, and you know what Jen's salary for the film is going to be? $20M with Vince Vaughn due to make much less. Why? At least Vince has been in some successful films. What the hell has Jen ever done except annoy the hell out of me.

Of course they threw this story out there to show that Jen can get the big bucks, they ran out of guys to pretend she was dating so this would get tongues wagging again and to show that she is a bigger star than Vince. Umm, yeah. Right. It also shows her team has no creativity. Why didn't they just say she was going to make a comedy with Vince instead of trying to sell us this. What it shows me is there is nothing out there for her and so they said pick a sequel. Well, then if there is going to be a sequel to one of her films, then why couldn't they pick Office Space to tease us with? At least people would go see that and we would talk about it. Of course if we did that, she would be overshadowed by the fact it was a good film and she didn't sleep with a co-star in that one. Nope, it always has to be about her, and definitely nothing else.

I don't like Aniston. She is a bad actress don't even understand why they pay her to come out in movies when her movies have flop from the beginning to end.

Since she has had bad luck of hanging on to a man probably wants another go around with VV LOL.

  4. Watch it, ENT! You just know her publicity team is trolling the internet for the vaguest ill-will towards her and her flabbergasting talent.

Next round of bikini shots in three...two...one...

  5. I think I would rather read the phone book than watch another Jennifer Aniston film. I end up turning them off after the 1st 1/2 hour.
And her haor hasn't been looking so great, either.

  6. She bores me. She should give TV another go.

  7. Escuse my crassness, but who the hell did JA F*CK TO GET TO THE TOP?!?!

She is not attractive, a mediocre actress, and plays the same role in all her movies,so again I say, why is she sooo HUGE???

Can we NOT discuss her on this site ENTY EVERRRRR?!?!? PLEAAAASE!

  8. I may be in the minority, but I just don't understand all the JA hate. I really don't find anything wrong with her and the digs people make about her losing Brad to St. Ang are so mean.

For a minute there, when I read this post I thought I was reading a Ted C. item.

    Ok, let the bashing begin...

  9. Did y'all see that Gerard Butler came out and said he saw her for a full seven minutes at TIFF and that's where the make-out rumors came from? He was very clear to say there was NOTHING GOING ON. LOL. Whether there was or wasn't I don't really care. I just thought it was funny that the rumor was shot down by him personally, not a PR person.

  10. i don't hate her but she's not all that either.

i liked the Break Up and if they made the Make Up..i'd see it too and prob like it. but really let's be honest its all about Vaughn. He carried that movie not Jen. she was far too wooden..

  11. operaghost- Jason Lewis did the same thing. He personally came out to shoot down the JA romance rumors. Maybe JA isn't the catch her PR team would like everyone to believe. Anyway this story is bogus. There is no way in hell the studio would pay her $20m, let alone give Vince Vaughn less money. Her movie Management still doesn't have a distributor, neither does her movie Travelling. For such a "huge star" you'd think they'd be a bidding war. lol

okay I'm going stand up for Jen. I like her. Remember that forbes list a while back stating the most overpaid actors? Read about it on any blog and they'll be loads of comments saying 'Jennifer Aniston should be on that list.' and sometimes even the bloggers themselves (Perez) were saying it.

While it was widely reported that Vince Vaughn topped the list of the best value for money actors, nobody mentioned that Jen was on that list too. She came eighth in fact just after clooney. She must be doing something right. Okay so The Break up wasn't the greatest movie, and I really don't know why there would be a sequel. But I hate all the Jennifer bashing.

Here's the link if you don't believe me http://www.newsvine.com/_news/2008/07/23/1689828-forbes-vince-vaughn-is-best-value-for-the-money

  13. They put this story out to check the buzz and find out if it's worth it to do. My vote, and for many others, would be a big "no." They'll pull it in a few days.

  14. I truly believe that ms aniston and her pr team have brought all the bashing on themselves. There is not one day that goes by that a picture of her in a small biniki or drinking water or walking down the street that doesnt make it somewhere on the internet .. who the hell cares .. I personally didnt watch friends so I can not attest to that part of her career .. but I am a huge fan of the movie rock star, and there was no chemistry at all between her and mark wahlberg .. from that point on I wrote her off ..

  15. Jen is at a precarious age -- Nicole and Halle had babies at 40, and she too needs to move on and have one herself, or adopt like Sheryl Crow did.

She cannot keep being the "girl next door" -- she is no "girl" at all but is a middle-aged woman of 40 and needs to make that career and personal life transition.

  16. i like jen too. i just don't get why they're paying her as much as an a-lister.

  17. I don't get the Jen hate either...I'd take her over the Saint any day...and as for Vince? I'll watch anything with him in it...I'd LOVE to have a beer with him.

  19. Movies are for entertainment. In hard times people need to be entertained to get through the grind.

So if I COULD afford to go to ANY movie right now, I'd damn sure rather see a lame, vacuous Jennifer Aniston movie rather than some of the sick, demented horror drivel like Saw or Hostel or any of that other "feel-bad" shit out there.

And Vince Vaughn is a truly funny guy. I'd second that beer with you, kris.

  20. People don't like her because they see through all this transparent PR bullshit. She's only famous for who she may or may not be dating. And that's the ONLY reason people discuss her any more - well, besides the ones that are stuck in 2005 still salivating over this bloody triangle already. She totally polarizes people - you love her, you hate the Jolie-Pitts. It started with the Vanity Fair piece years ago. Prior to that, I actually liked her and saw her as identifiable and likeable. After this bizarre media tit-for-tat she's playing with the Jolie Pitts (and the ENDLESS PREDICTABLE DESPERATE BIKINI SHOTS) it's hard to have any respect for her any more.

  21. I don't have strong feelings about her one way or another, but I've gotta say, if I had her body, I'd never wear anything other than a bikini either.

Selena, maybe that's why she is still popular, like Kate Hudson or Jessica Alba - you know seeing one of their movies isn't going to be a challenge to your brain. I'd rather watch "The Break Up 2" than the news about the stock market. :)

  22. I gotcha, moosh. Hell, the news is horrific enough, for crying out loud.

I'm reverting to cartoons nowadays to escape. Going through the old Space Ghost C2C and Brak Shows right now.

That's all I can handle right now--stupid and pointless--just like real life!

Personally, I am looking forward to 'He's just not that in to you.' More so than 'changeling';-)

I think its unfair to say people only talk about her because of her relationships. That's all anyone talks about anything nowadays! Pick up any celebrity magazine and you'll find little on no mention of what films they are making its all about who's dating who. So while it may be true that its what people talk about the most, she certainly isn't the only actress around who that is true for. Yet she gets most of the flack.

    Team Aniston!

  24. Beg pardon, Enty, but that stupid movie made $118 million domestic and $86 million foreign (that's $204 million worldwide; yeah, I know!) on a $52 million budget. Not such a stupid idea fiscally, eh? Just a stupid idea for audiences to endure!

  25. i would rather see a sequel to ... whats that movies name ... Picture Perfect ! ... she was hot as hell in that flick back in the day ... and its not really that bad a movie (its on cable all time lately), despite Jay Mohr being annoying as hell in everything he is in ...

ROFL, alpine summer! Hm. I would hope GB could last a bit longer than that, if you know what I mean.

I didn't mind The Break Up. Not great, not awful. But I've never really gotten the Jennifer Aniston thing outside of Friends, which, it has to be said, had GREAT writing too, which helps.

To me JenA comes off as desperate, whiny, guarded, defensive . . . a neurotic mess who doesn't have a clue who she is or what she's about at this stage of the game. And that's just in her interviews. Add into that the blazing multitude of pap shots, and you know SOMEONE is tipping them off. There are plenty of upper level actors and actresses who are papped only once in a blue moon. If she didn't seek out the attention and didn't want the attention, there are plenty of people she could approach for a few pointers on how to live outside of the glare of the camera lens. And yet she doesn't. She resignedly carries on, dutifully ignoring the camera, pretending she doesn't need the publicity . . . Mmmhmmmmmmm.
